Today I bring to you The Deathly Hallows Cocktail.
Yes, we are talking yet another Harry Potter inspired cocktail today. I didn’t intend to share two back to back Harry Potter inspired cocktails (see the Death Eater Negroni), but after a pumpkin cocktail fail (it was bad…don’t ask), I fell back on a recipe that I knew would be good…and fun!
As you guys can see, I am clearly having fun with these Halloween posts. I think it’s been just such a crazy busy year, that I’m just having way too much fun letting the creative holiday freak in me come out. Not going to lie, it’s a little hard developing so many cocktail recipes (especially for someone who is relatively new to making cocktails), but I’m also loving the challenge.
So, what is The Deathly Hallows Cocktail?
This drink is different from any others I’ve ever created. It’s a mix some of my autumn favorites. A splash of cranberry juice, a little tequila, a dash of orange liquor, lemon juice for warmth, maple for sweetness, and topped off with ginger beer…mostly because it’s just my favorite. This is sweet, smoky, and all things cozy, but also gives off the spookiest of Halloween vibes. To give the drink a little smokiness, I finished each drink off with a sprig of fresh thyme that I then lit on fire. It’s mostly just fun for presentation, but it does infuse the drink with hints of fresh thyme, which I love paired with the cranberry.
Also, if your aren’t into cranberry flavors, pomegranate or blackberry juice (just mash up a few blackberries) would both be great in its place.
With yesterday’s Hocus Pocus brownies, and today’s Deathly Hallows cocktail, I’m really hoping to have put you guys into the Halloween spirit.
My Saturday night is all about spooky cocktails and Halloween decorating…pretty excited about it!
The Deathly Hallows Cocktail
Servings: 1 drink

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 - 2 ounces silver tequila or Mezcal
- 2 1/2 ounces cranberry or pomegranate juice
- 1/2 ounce orange liquor
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon real maple syrup
- ginger beer, for topping
- fresh thyme, for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake until combined and then strain into glass. Top with ginger beer. 2. Garnish with thyme. If desired light on fire for a smoky effect.
The Deathly Hallows Cocktail Pitcher
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups silver tequila or Mezcal
- 3 cups cranberry juice
- 1/2 cup orange liquor
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1/4-1/3 real maple syrup, to taste
- ginger beer for topping
- fresh thyme for garnish
Instructions
- 1. In a large pitcher, combine the tequila, cranberry juice, orange liquor, lemon juice, and maple. Chill until ready to serve. 2. Top with ginger beer just before serving.

The bartender at the restaurant I was at tonight suggested this cocktail as something fun and a little different and BOY WAS IT AMAZING!!!!! So delicious!!!! Bravo

How much maple syrup?
