Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post.

Itโs February, itโs Super Bowl Sunday, and somehow the first month of 2019 has already come and gone. Shocker? No probably not, since we all know how fast time flies by thanks to our busy schedules. My main goal for February is to stop and smell the roses a bit more. Kind of fitting, seeing as roses are very popular this month. But seriously, I want to be better about enjoying things in the moment, not always looking on to whatโs next. Can you relate?
Sometimes Iโm so super focused on my goals, and all things HBH, that I can forget to celebrate the little things. Actually, let me rephrase, I do forget to celebrate the little things. So this month I want to work on pausing for a minute to enjoy things as they come, not just always just pushing forward to the next big project. Not going to lie, it will be a challenge for me, but I do love a good challenge.
February also brings fresh flowers, sweet chocolate treats, and the last full month of winter. Meaning cozy recipes and time spent outside in the snowโฆor snuggled in blankets, with plenty of hot cocoa.
So what are you looking forward to the most this month? Are there any Valentineโs Day recipes youโre dying to see?
Coming up this week on HBH, Iโll be kicking the week off with a healthy middle eastern inspired recipe. Weโll then be moving on to our first Valentineโs Day treat. On Wednesday Iโll be sharing a new Vietnamese recipe, and on Thursday, some killer street tacos. And for Friday? I honestly have no idea, but Iโll be sure to make it sweet and delicious.
Lastly, if you missed anything from the past week, be sure to sign up for our newsletterย here. Hope youโre all having the best weekend, and enjoy this Sundayโs Favorites!
PS. What are you making for todayโs game? May I suggest these fried buffalo goat cheese balls? Or maybe this party size Italian melt? Oh, and definitely these chocolate chip cookies stuffed soft pretzels.

2. The Most Popular Recipe of January.

most popular: Indian coconut butter cauliflower
You know whatโs funny about this recipe? The only reason I made this was because I was making classic butter chicken for my family over Christmas, but knew the vegetarian eaters would really appreciate a chicken free version. Enter this coconut butter cauliflower. As soon as I decided to make a โbutter cauliflowerโ, I knew I needed to recreate it for the blog. It was just way too good not to share. Turns out you guys LOVED it. This recipe quickly became the most popular recipe. Itโs easy, healthy, and most importantly, really deliciousโฆok and cozy too.

runner-up:ย chocolate chunk coconut banana bread
I only shared this recipe just last week, but man SO MANY of you have made this bread. I canโt tell you how happy that makes me. This is hands down my favorite banana bread recipe. Iโve made it at least 5 times already this month. Itโs so yummy, so if youโre looking for something on the healthier side to bake up today, bake this bread.

have to mention:ย lemony garlic chicken and orzo soup
Oh this soup, I was hesitant to share another chicken soup, but this was too warming and wonderful not share. Especially with the frigid temperatures this month has broughtโฆbest (healthy) chicken soup.
3. Valentineโs Day Bakingโฆ
Whether youโre in a relationship or not, make Valentineโs Day fun with a little bit of baking.
4. Questions of The Week:ย
q: what is a typical workday for you? From start to finish?
a: itโs honestly different everyday. If Iโm cooking, Iโll cook and photograph during daylight hours. Then Iโll catch up on computer work + writing the next dayโs blog post at night. If Iโm not cooking, itโs emailing, conference calls, brainstorming, planning, editing, things like that.
q: why donโt you move to New York?
a: I love NYC, and am always excited to travel to the the city, but I but love where I am! Itโs hard to beat.
q: if a fan ever saw you in public would you want to say hi?
a: yes!! Itโs so fun!
q: what is your FAVORITE thing about your job as HBH?
a: interacting with YOU all is my favorite. Seeing the recipes youโre making and hearing your stories!! I also love getting to cook and style food everyday.

Hi, that dog itโs my dog and his Instagram is @thecuriousmaxx ! Please, donโt forget to tag ?
Hi Ana! Im sorry about that, I just saw it on pinterest! I just checked out his Instagram, he is so cute!! Thank you! xTieghan
Hey Tieghan! Have you ever thought of doing a workshop or something in Denver? Iโm not even sure what it would entail, but I think it would be so cool for local-ish people to be able to meet/cook/hang with you!
Hi Natalie! I have not, but I will look into it! I am thinking of hosting workshops at my studio barn in the future!
Hi Tieghan I love your blog and most especially the Nine Favourite Things posts. One thing I was wondering: I live in New Zealand, so completely opposite season to you! I do love the contrast, but was wondering whether it would be possible to do what one of the other bloggers I follows does. Specifically, at the end of her round up posts she has a tiny section for the other side of the world and includes three or four links to recipes that are specifically seasonally appropriate for us. I love to browse your website for recipes for my meal planning but sometimes would be nice to see recipes for say, salads not soups :-). Just a thought. Not sure how many other followers you have from other parts of the world so it may not be worth it for you.
Hi Monique! Yes, I love when you guys give me ideas on what you would like me to post! Thank you!!
Hey Tieghan,
I hope youโre doing well and enjoying 2019!! Iโm sorry I havenโt commented in a while but HAVE been reading and thinking of you. โบ๏ธ I thought Iโd reach out and see how youโve been. How are you? How are all of your projects going? Haha hows the snow? I agree that itโs good to stop and smell the roses a bit. Iโve also been trying to be more present and itโs helped a lot with feeling more like myself and being hopeful for the future. Talking to my mom and going on my walks everyday has also helped. ๐ Iโve been listening to Oprahโs podcast, and sheโs doing a series on the book A New Earth. Itโs all about being present, conscious, and align with your true self. It sounds really good and I recommend it if youโre in need of some mindfulness and positivity. โบ๏ธ Anyways, I hope all is well and am looking forward to this weeks post!
Hi Kristin! I am doing so well, just busy like always! How are you? I am so glad you have been figuring out ways to help you be more present and enjoy yourself! I would love to listen to that podcast and will check it out! Thank you!
Yes Tieghan, enjoy the moments! Loved that line. Our mom passed August 2018. 17 years after breast cancer, it came back with a vengeance ๐ They celebrated their 50th two weeks before! I come from five. My husband comes from seven. His parents have been married for even longer ๐ my point is that enjoying the moments is the best advice you can give yourself! I miss mom every day of every minute. But I know that she would want me to enjoy the moments now ๐ Always love reading your posts and fabulous recipes!! Itโs also the best reading bloggers who are so invested in family. So thank you! ๐
Hi Jennifer! I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you are doing well!! I am sure she is so proud of you and would be so happy to see you enjoying life! Thank you!!
I always get excited when nine favorite things pops up in my feed! I love those January recipes, too, especially since they are dairy free!
I am so glad you like nine favorite things! That makes me so happy! Thank you Annie!
