(Fridayโs chocolate chunk coconut banana bread)
Something I am so excited to do more of this year (but also very nervous), is on camera videos. What I mean by on camera is me actually appearing in the videosโฆnot just my hands! I love the idea cooking more recipes for you guys through Instagram stories, but itโs a pretty time consuming task. Turning the camera on myself is not something that I just naturally do.
That said, every time I do more in front of the camera, the more I love it. So Iโm making it a goal this year to carve out extra time for creating more contentโฆand not hiding behind the camera. Itโs definitely not in my comfort zone, but Iโm a firm believer that in order to grow you have to step outside your comfort zone and be OK with being uncomfortable for a bit. I spent some time on Friday talking through some exciting ideas, and will be brainstorming and putting these ideas into action soon! I canโt wait!
As for the last few days, I was supposed to be in Aspen for X-Games, since Red is competing this weekend. Unfortunately, I had to buckle down and get some editing done on the computer. Not the most exciting weekend, but sometimes itโs what you have to do. Along the same lines, Iโve come to the conclusion that I much prefer creating (i.e developing recipes/photographing) over writing, but I still try to give it my best! That said I will be happy to get back to working in the kitchen tomorrow. Big week of photoshoots ahead!
Coming up this week on HBH. Iโll be sharing a new healthy bowl recipe, a sweet breakfast dish โ thatโs one of my momโs personal favorites. Then Iโll be kicking off a trio of super bowl recipes starting with a party size sandwich, then on to a fun cheesy appetizer, and lastly, ending the week with a chocolatey dessert thatโs melt in your mouth good. Full week of deliciousness ahead.
Lastly, if you missed anything from this past week, be sure to sign up for our newsletterย here. Hope youโre all having the best weekend, and enjoy this Sundayโs Favorites!
PS. we had a special Saturday post go up yesterday, if you missed it, check out this Beer Cheese Soup!
1. Weโre Hiring!
I am really excited to share that we are building the HBH team here in Colorado. Weโre looking to hire a Social Media Manager as well as a Shoot Assistant. Both positions have been a long time coming. Weโre really excited to bring on two new members to help grow and expand upon what weโve been building here at HBH. Weโre looking for them to contribute fresh ideas, be extremely passionate about food, be creative thinkers who can brainstorm innovative ideas/strategies, and be highly organized and detail-oriented. Of course weโre also looking for someone excited to help grow HBH, and is fun to be around!
If this sounds like you, or someone you may know, please apply soon!!

2. Inspiring Me This Week.ย
TV host and Bestselling Author Daphne Oz.
Iโm sure a lot of you are very familiar with Daphne Oz. Sheโs a TV host, best-selling author, podcast host, current co-host of The Dish on Oz, and to top it all off, sheโs a mom of 3 young kids. To say she is one impressive women would be an understatement. I am so inspired by her.
Surprisingly, Iโm not that familiar with Daphne since I live in my own little โworkโ bubble. But as soon as I came across her Instagram feed, I was hooked. What I love most is how honest and upbeat she is. Following along with her on Instagram has been such an uplifting experience, which is rare when it comes to Instagram. There are many times I find Instagram to be a place where after scrolling through feeds, or viewing peopleโs stories, Iโll come away feeling bad about myself, as though I am not doing enough, or I could be better. Anyone else ever feel that way? Following Daphne however, has not made me feel this way once. Sheโs so honest, real, and shares all her imperfections. Along with incredible looking (healthy) recipes, life tips, beauty secrets, and so much more.
Sheโs human, and itโs so refreshing.

4. Questions of The Week:
q:ย Where do you buy your dishes from??? Theyโre so pretty!
a: I get this question A LOT. My favorite dishes come from vintages stores and places like Etsy. I order a lot from overseas and ceramic artists based in Australia and London. My dad searches high and low through junk stores, steel yards (for surfaces), and local shops (heโs the best). And my brothers always keep their eyes out for dishes when theyโre traveling! I really love finding unique pieces!
q: Do you ever feel unmotivated to cook/bake? If so, how do you handle it?
a: Yess! When this happens I try to spend the day out of the kitchen and catch up on computer work. It normally only takes a day or two of working on the computer until Iโm ready to cook again. Traveling helps too! Iโm not one who likes to sit still for very longโฆ
q: Whatโs the easiest way to Incorporate veggies into a meal?
a:Just toss them in!! Pretty much every recipe is better with a pop of color. Making pasta? Toss in roasted broccoli or finish it with a handful of arugula. Chicken stir fry? Do half chicken and half veggies! Roasting salmon? Fill half the pan with sweet potatoes and asparagus. Always add a veggie, they work!
q: Did you work up to posting a recipe per day or have you done this from the start?
a: Iโve always posted a new recipe Sunday-Friday (sometimes Saturday too) from the very beginning.
q: Favorite weekend breakfast?
a:ย Easiest Cinnamon Crunch Knots
Overnight Waffles with Cream and Strawberries
Baked Blackberry Ricotta French Toast
