Nine Favorite Things.

Hey, Hi! Happy first Sunday of June! Yes, JUNE! How on Earth is it June already? This year is flying bye, but I do have to say that I am so excited it’s summer. I am beyond loving these long, warm, and sunny days we are having. My only wish is that we had more of them to enjoy, but since I am well aware they will be gone before I know it, I’m really just trying to enjoy them!

My morning hikes with Merle are the prettiest ever. We go fairly early, so the sun is just rising over the mountains and it’s beautiful. But my favorite part of the day? Golden hour! Come seven o’clock..ish, the sun is setting behind the mountains and streaking through the vibrant green trees. It’s my favorite part of summer and fall here in Colorado.

So pretty. If you following along on Instagram, you have seen what I am talking about.

Anyway, this weekend is a working one, as I am getting ready to go on vacation, which I am very excited about! What are you all up to?

Coming up this week on HBH I’ll be kicking things off with a new seafood recipe that’s perfect for summer, then having fun on Tuesday with fresh strawberries, playing with carbs one Wednesday, grilling up a new chicken recipe on Thursday, and finishing the week out with some summertime ice cream. All good things.

1. LA Book Signing at Shoppe Amber Interiors. 

As I mentioned, I had a book signing last week in LA at Shoppe Amber Interiors. It was such a fun and intimate signing and I really hope to do more of them soon! The photographer of the event, Marisa Vitale, sent over the photos this week and I am so excited to share them with all of you that couldn’t make it. As you can see, we had an incredible choucroute board, fun cocktails, lots of cookbooks, and great people!

Oven Fried Southern Hot Honey Chicken.

Oh my gosh. The love for this recipe is insane. Never would I have thought that so many of you would make this recipe, but you have, and you all are loving it! I mean, I do get it, because it’s delicious, but it has definitely surprised me as to just how popular this recipe has become! It’s by far the most viewed + made recipe of May!

So happy you guys are loving it!

4. A Random Act Of Kindness..

On Friday night Asher came over to my house to deliver a gift that she said my bother Malachi had gotten for both her and I. She had already opened hers, but was delivering mine to me. It was just a small box, so I immediately assumed it was jewelry, which I thought was really odd for my brother to be randomly gifting me. But it wasn’t jewelry, it was something so much better…

A Harry Potter Music Box!

Yes, I am such a dork, but this small little gift made my day. And even though it wasn’t anything extravagant, it was so thoughtful of Kai, I love it. He knows how much Asher and I love Harry Potter. He said that he had seen this box on Instagram and then went and found it on Amazon for us.

I mean, how nice is he? Not many brothers out there that would do something like that. Kai’s gift reminded me how much a thoughtful act of kindness like that can really make a huge difference in someone’s day or even week.

My takeaway from this? If you see something you know someone will love, no matter how small, try randomly gifting it to them. You never know, you could make someone’s day!

Hands down these Rachel Comey Jeans. I LOVE them. Yes, there are expensive, but in my defense, I got them during the Shopbop sale for almost 50% off and they where worth it. They are comfy, and cute and have become my go-to jean.
