Hey everyone! It’s the second Nine Favorite Things post of the new year. How is everyone feeling?
It’s finally snowing here today, and it feels so comforting and cozy. I’m fully embracing these cold winter days and leaning into what our bodies are craving most right now—warm soups, hearty salads, winter citrus, and of course, a little chocolate mixed in too.
The first week of January felt heavier than I was expecting. I let my worried, anxious mind take over more than I would’ve liked. While it wasn’t fun, it did push me to put new practices in place to better manage the anxiety I’ve dealt with my entire life. This year, I’m committing to acupuncture consistently, and I’ll absolutely report back.
As I write this, I’m on set for something coming later this year. It took a lot of work to get this shoot off the ground, but now that it’s here, the fun can really begin. I feel energized, positive, and excited—not just about this project, but about the year ahead. I truly feel in my bones that this is going to be a great year. My mind feels strong and ready to take on new challenges and creative projects.
I really believe that working on yourself—improving who you are and how you show up in the world—is the biggest game changer. Following people like Emma Grede and Melissa Wood-Tepperberg, and regularly tuning into The Skinny Confidential podcast, has genuinely shifted things for me in the best way. I’ve surrounded myself with people who inspire me, and that energy is everything.
So here’s a little note for anyone struggling to find motivation during these winter days or feeling discouraged: Be mindful of the content you consume. Pay attention to what lifts you up and what brings you down. You are in control of your life and your happiness, and you get to choose the energy you allow into your space.
When you show up with good energy and positivity, it truly changes the room. Try it—you’ll feel the difference.
Of course, I’m not perfect. All of this sounds lovely, but I still have setbacks and moments where I need to pause, catch myself, and reset. Be gentle with yourself. Progress—no matter how small—is what matters. Baby steps always.
And with that, let’s get into this week’s post. Today’s is short, but filled with only good things.
Also, today is my mom’s birthday! She’s heading home from Aspen today. They were there watching my brother, Red, compete. And for the presentation of the officially named US Olympic team athletes. I hope she enjoys every single moment of her day.
Enjoy some of my favorites below!

I know this time of year can be tough for so many of us. The holiday excitement fades, the days are short, and there’s often so much pressure to suddenly become a brand-new version of ourselves in the new year. It can feel heavy—especially mentally.
If you have a friend who could use a little extra love right now, sending something thoughtful and cozy can go such a long way. My go-to is a pretty bundle of winter flowers, a new candle, or the ultimate comfy gift—a Lola blanket. You can bundle a few items together or just pick one simple thing to brighten their day.
If you’re looking for a beautifully curated gift, I also love the packages from Flamingo Estates. They make gifting feel effortless and special.
It’s such an easy, meaningful way to let someone know you’re thinking of them. And honestly, there’s nothing I love more than gift giving—it’s 100% my love language.
What are your favorite little gifts to send family or friends this time of year?
I could use some more ideas!

I see you can now purchase tickets for the Sun Valley event, can you share more about the private dinner? Why are your tickets $700 and everyone else’s is $350? That is a lot for a ticket, what will you be cooking?
Hey Linda,
We are doing a full course dinner so our ticket price is higher to help cover the cost. The menu is being finalized this week.
I am so excited for this dinner. I’ve put together a full HBH winter menu!
Have a great Sunday!!
I’m sorry you’ve been having more anxiety! Acupuncture really helped me and so did hypnosis— so much so that I became a hypnotist! Le me know if you want to try it!
Thanks so much for sharing this, Cory! I am excited to start my journey:)
Tieghan,
I am such a candle junkie, as I know you are. I just recently discovered Ranger Station, a Nashville based company, and I could not love them more. The scents are amazing, the presentation and packaging are gorgeous, the candles double as glasses once they burn down – cannot say enough good about them. You should check them out – I think you would love them. Such a fan of yours – keep being amzing.
Thank you so much for sharing these candles, Regan! I will definitely have to check them out, they sounds awesome!
