Hey everyone! It’s the second Nine Favorite Things post of the new year. How is everyone feeling?
It’s finally snowing here today, and it feels so comforting and cozy. I’m fully embracing these cold winter days and leaning into what our bodies are craving most right now—warm soups, hearty salads, winter citrus, and of course, a little chocolate mixed in too.
The first week of January felt heavier than I was expecting. I let my worried, anxious mind take over more than I would’ve liked. While it wasn’t fun, it did push me to put new practices in place to better manage the anxiety I’ve dealt with my entire life. This year, I’m committing to acupuncture consistently, and I’ll absolutely report back.
As I write this, I’m on set for something coming later this year. It took a lot of work to get this shoot off the ground, but now that it’s here, the fun can really begin. I feel energized, positive, and excited—not just about this project, but about the year ahead. I truly feel in my bones that this is going to be a great year. My mind feels strong and ready to take on new challenges and creative projects.
I really believe that working on yourself—improving who you are and how you show up in the world—is the biggest game changer. Following people like Emma Grede and Melissa Wood-Tepperberg, and regularly tuning into The Skinny Confidential podcast, has genuinely shifted things for me in the best way. I’ve surrounded myself with people who inspire me, and that energy is everything.
So here’s a little note for anyone struggling to find motivation during these winter days or feeling discouraged: Be mindful of the content you consume. Pay attention to what lifts you up and what brings you down. You are in control of your life and your happiness, and you get to choose the energy you allow into your space.
When you show up with good energy and positivity, it truly changes the room. Try it—you’ll feel the difference.
Of course, I’m not perfect. All of this sounds lovely, but I still have setbacks and moments where I need to pause, catch myself, and reset. Be gentle with yourself. Progress—no matter how small—is what matters. Baby steps always.
And with that, let’s get into this week’s post. Today’s is short, but filled with only good things.
Also, today is my mom’s birthday! She’s heading home from Aspen today. They were there watching my brother, Red, compete. And for the presentation of the officially named US Olympic team athletes. I hope she enjoys every single moment of her day.
Enjoy some of my favorites below!
everything in my cart (low)…from Zara, the perfect reversible faux leather jacket. I love that you can wear this two ways! And then, this pretty cardigan with a faux fur collar. Loving the fur collar details. It’s subtle but not in-your-face.
I found the perfect Calfhair Pochette Bag on Revolve.

If not one of the Ralph Lauren sets, then definitely the Organic Percale Sheet Set from Coyuchi. I also love my Boll and Branch Signature Embellished sheet set!
everything in my cart (beauty)…there are so many great beauty sales following the holidays. Pick up this Cica Sleeping Mask: Korean Sensitive Skin Sleeping Mask for Soothing Hydration & Barrier Repair from LANEIGE. And my favorite Hair Alchemy Heatless Styling Set from Oribe. I always travel with this set!
everything in my cart (high)…Dior launched their new collection and the new Trianon Bag in Black Flat Macrocannage Lambskin is in my cart.
The cutest lady jacket in pony hair from J.Crew. So pretty!
shopping…just found this cute planner if you are looking for a new one for 2026. it’s not too late!
Citrus Avocado Salad with Orange Tahini Vinaigrette
Lemony Pesto Chicken Noodle Soup
Lemon Butter Dijon Chicken and Orzo with Feta Sauce
Baked Sesame Orange Cauliflower
Earl Grey Blueberry Lemon Cake
I know this time of year can be tough for so many of us. The holiday excitement fades, the days are short, and there’s often so much pressure to suddenly become a brand-new version of ourselves in the new year. It can feel heavy—especially mentally.
If you have a friend who could use a little extra love right now, sending something thoughtful and cozy can go such a long way. My go-to is a pretty bundle of winter flowers, a new candle, or the ultimate comfy gift—a Lola blanket. You can bundle a few items together or just pick one simple thing to brighten their day.
If you’re looking for a beautifully curated gift, I also love the packages from Flamingo Estates. They make gifting feel effortless and special.
It’s such an easy, meaningful way to let someone know you’re thinking of them. And honestly, there’s nothing I love more than gift giving—it’s 100% my love language.
What are your favorite little gifts to send family or friends this time of year?
I could use some more ideas!

I appreciate your honesty about your struggles. What I appreciate even more is that you don’t dwell on it and perseverate, or use it as an excuse to not do something. You own it, work at improving yourself, and understand it’s a frame of mind that helps you thrive. Love that others can hear this and hope it inspires them too 🙂
And Happy Bday to your mom!

That fringed skirt is everything! It looks fabulous and you wear it so well!
This is not a judgement call, honest! but personally, I couldn’t buy/carry a calf hair purse. The thought actually kind of creeps me out , but then again, so does anything “lamb”.
Thanks so much, Terry! I love the skirt as well:) Totally understand that. Thanks for reading today!
Do you not have furniture in your home? I noticed your mom is always sitting on the floor by the stove. 😂 just curious! 🙂
Hey Amanda,
Lol I do! It’s just the warmest spot and we both enjoy sitting near it, we’ve been doing that for years:) Thanks for reading!
Tieghan! I am so excited to find out you are coming to Sun Valley! Can you let me know how to purchase tickets for any of your events? I am having trouble finding it and I really don’t want to miss my chance to see you- I’ve been hoping you’d make it to my area someday and I don’t want to miss it!
Hey Christy! I’m not sure you can get a ticket. I’m hosting a dinner and I believe it’s close but I am going to find out this week! I will share information as soon as I have it.
I’m so sorry I don’t have answer for you. But more soon!!
Have a great week!

Have a WONDERFUL and blessed January
Hi Joyce,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful message and reading each week, it truly means so much to me!
I hope you are having a great start to your year!
Acupuncture is my savior when it comes to anxiety. The benefits are many but the anxiety aspect has been such a blessing.
Thanks so much for sharing this, Janice:) Love the reassurance! Have a great Sunday!
I so enjoy your recipes and your styling and photography! I’m sorry to hear of your depressive episodes. This sounds silly, but it works for me. When I get something stuck in my head looping relentlessly, I count backwards from 100 by some odd number such as 13. Having to do the math in your head forces my mind to jump tracks. It just takes a minute, but then my head moves on. It’s not a cure for a serious mental issue, of course, just a little technique for changing direction. Best wishes!
Hey Beth,
Thanks a lot for reading today and your thoughtful message! I appreciate the tip for counting backwards, I will definitely give that a try!
Happy Sunday!
Happy Birthday to your Mom!!! That’s such a cute picture of her!
Thanks so much, Marybeth:) I appreciate you taking the time to read today and sharing bday wishes for my mom! Enjoy your Sunday!

What made you decide acupuncture over therapy or medication for your crippling anxiety? Curious if it would help me too!
Hey Colleen! I’m not comfortable with medication so I want to try a natural way to help! I will keep you all updated!
Have a wonderful week!!
