Hey everyone! How are you all? I canโt believe weโre already in mid-NovemberโThanksgiving is SO close. Honestly, I canโt wait. Iโve been home this week, and thereโs nothing cozier than this time of year here. Itโs chilly, and the second the sun slips behind the mountain, it suddenly feels like the holidays.
Weโve had mostly sunny but cold days. Not much snow yet, which is unusual. But I know once it comes, itโll instantly turn into Christmas-town around here.
This really is my favorite time. Iโm trying to convince my cousins to come for ThanksgivingโI want everyone here! (Itโs an off year for some.) Itโs always so much fun. What are your holiday plans?
Iโm off to New York today to shoot something for the website that might be my favorite holiday post yet. I have this magical vision in my head, and Iโm so excited to bring it to life. Iโve been planning nonstop and cooking all week. Adjusting to the new light and workflow this time of year has been tough, though. The sun setting so early is no fun.
But Iโm happy. Really trying to give myself some grace and not be such a perfectionistโso much easier said than done. As I get older, Iโve become so aware of who I amโฆmy good traits and the little personal hang-ups that can slow me down.
Change is hard, you guys. And honestly, I donโt think anything is harder than looking inwardโat all of it, the good and the bad. But I also love reflection, and personal growth really fuels me to work smarter. So in that way, Iโm grateful for it.
Itโs nice having this space to share everything with all of you who show up here daily. I love our big, wonderful community. It feels like journaling and chatting with friends, and I know so many of you relate to how Iโm feeling.
Whenever we do community events, hearing your stories in person completely melts my heart. It means everything.
We also have some exciting events coming up. I canโt share details quite yet, but soonโso keep an eye out!
Andโbig one this weekโwe launched the Christmas candle: Merry Mint Mocha! Iโve been burning it every single night this month. Itโs my absolute favorite. I even packed it for New York. This scent brings me so much comfort and reminds me of my Nonnie, who I miss more and more every year. It feels so nostalgicโsweet, minty, and chocolatey, just like her kitchen at Christmastime.
Make sure you order soon! Our Christmas candles go fast. Gingerbread is usually the top seller, but I have a feeling the peppermint mocha might take the lead this year. Which scent is your favorite?
This season is such a special time. I feel really lucky to have these opportunities and to be able to share everything with you.
Thatโs all for this weekโso much holiday excitement in the air and a lot of candle excitement too. Itโs a big week!

giftingโฆI found the perfect gift for my sister, Asher. She loves to sew (so did I! And my mom too). Iโm ordering her this Singer sewing machine. It looks just like the sewing machine my mom had growing up! She is going to be so excited!
lovingโฆthe idea of โhosting as a hobbyโ. Yes! I think hosting is my hobby. I love it and I love sharing how I host even more!
wantingโฆall the Christmas pajamas/socks. So many cute ones this season. Skims are top of my list.
everything in my cart (low)โฆfor my sister, sheโs into supper puffy slippers. Adding these Lounge Mules to her Christmas list (I tend to spoil her). And then for me and maybe my mom, I found thisย Fleece Quarter Zip Jacket from Halfdays, and I canโt stop thinking about it. I like the glazed cherry and alpine colors. The full zip jacket is nice too. Iโm loving everyday jackets.
If you want a good holiday coat, this Short Faux Fur Coat is cute!
From Zara, for sure, this Heeled Riding Boot. These certainly look like Burberry boots!
Zara has the best chic coats. Iโd get this Belted Faux Fur Coat orย Wool Blend Coat for dinner party nights. Style with these fur gloves (my mom used to have a Prada pair).
And finally, a Limited Edition Cut Out Short Dress. Again, holiday parties!
listening toโฆ.
play this for your first holiday dinnerโฆ.
travelโฆa in Hudson Valley.
lovingโฆ15 Winter Getaways. New York in December is certainly my favorite!
when you donโt know what to giftโฆtry these finds that are good for everyone who loves to travel. I want that pretty Beis bag!
for those who actually have everything and would much prefer to make a positive impact on the world. Perfect for my Grandpa!
everything in my cart (beauty)โฆMay Lindstrom products. The entire lineup is great!
watchingโฆsomething mindless and easily distractingโฆ our thoughts, . Also, .
wantingโฆthis pretty warm and cozyย wool-blend vest. My mom would love this too. We Norwegians has a few great winter pieces, especially jackets. Also, theseย Cashmere Blend Tights. Warm, but chic is the name of the game right now.
everything in my cart (high)โฆ practical winter boots from Varley.

You all know I love a good holiday cocktail moment, but honestly? When it comes to hosting, simple always wins. And nothing is easier (or prettier!) than greeting guests with a few great bottles of wine already set out on the table. It feels welcoming, effortless, and instantly festive.
And this year, choosing wine is extra easy becauseโฆ
We finally launched The HBH Wine Shop!
We worked with a team of sommeliers to put together the Thanksgiving Harvest Collection. And the best partโ itโs super affordable and ships free for the holidays. Perfect for stocking up, gifting, or just making hosting feel way less stressful.
Quick reminder:
The last day to order for Thanksgiving delivery (free shipping) is November 21.
If you want wine on the table next Thursday, donโt wait!
Here are a few favorites for Thanksgiving:
To Welcome Guests
โข Sparkling Brut (California): Crisp green apple + a creamy little finish. This wine pairs beautifully with appetizers, like my go-to Thanksgiving Turkey Cheese Board.
โข Sauvignon Blanc: If you donโt love a bubbly, try the Sauvignon Blanc. Itโs bright, light, and citrusy, and perfectly pairs with a variety of appetizers.
For Dinner
โข Bruno Lafon Pinot Noir:ย My familyโs pick! Light enough for turkey but full of warm red-berry flavors that pair beautifully with herbs, stuffing, and cranberries.
For Dessert
โข Sparkling Moscatoย (Italy): Sweet honey notes and tiny bubbles โ such a fun pairing with pumpkin pie. My brothers love this one.
A Few More Good Ones
โข Redland Ranch Reserve Zinfandel: Aย California wine with blackberry jam, warm spice, and vanilla. Wonderful for richer, heartier dishes.
โข La Calice Rosรฉ: This Provence-style, dry wine pairs wellย with everything from roasted vegetables to fish courses. Itโs pretty in the glass, which honestly matters when youโre setting a beautiful table.
Holiday Packs to Make It Easy
โข The Intimate Gathering: 6-Packย โ 6 bottles for $97.99
โข The Big Feast: 12-Packย โ 12 bottles for $167.99 (was $195.98!)
Between the curated flavors, the reasonable pricing, and the free shipping, this is truly the easiest way to get your holiday wine handled with zero stress. One order and youโre set for Thanksgiving โ and probably a few cozy nights after.
Let me know which bottles youโre excited to try!

More Thanksgiving talk! I just want to make sure no one misses the cutoff to order our Home Chef Thanksgiving side dish. Weโre getting really close to the deadline, and I know how easy it is for the days to slip by this time of year. So consider this your friendly reminder!
So many of you have already ordered it, and I canโt wait to see how you share and serve the potatoes this year. It has been so fun seeing the excitement!
And if everything goes smoothly, weโre hoping to launch a full Thanksgiving menu with Home Chef next year โ the whole spread! Fingers crossed we can bring it to life.

Hi there! Love reading your weekly post. This weekโs was full of awesome content. I was interested in viewing links to the purse and gloves but couldnโt. Maybe itโs user error (me) but in case it isnโt could your team check the link? Thanks so much!
Hi Judy,
Thanks so much for taking the time to read today!
I just double checked for you and the links are working. I will also attach them here for you, purse and gloves
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
The Thanksgiving shoot was nice. But, will this year finally be the year we get a peak at your actual Thanksgiving? Itโs important to be present, but maybe you can grab a few quick pics of the table and food to post after the holiday. No need to show your guests.
Hey Dolores! Yes I will certainly be sharing! Iโll have a lot of family and friends this Thanksgiving! I canโt wait!
Hope you enjoy the menu and happy holidays!
The first picture on this post with the candles and flowers is so very beautiful!
Love your messages from fans, itโs just lovely to think we are all separate member of your big cooking community. ๐
Hope you have another book bubbling away in the background?!
Have a great week! Xx
Hi Kelly-Jane,
Thanks for reading today and your kind message! I am so glad you enjoyed this post reading the messages from fans:)
Enjoy your Sunday evening!
Love the Spotify playlist! Thank you!
Hi Karen,
Of course, happy to share! Have a great week ahead!
Will you be hosting Thanksgiving this year? Or another holiday party? I hope youโll share a little of your actual spread! The staged photos are nice but weโd all love to see what a real party looks like for you!
Thanks so much, Alice!! Trying to convince my cousins to come to Colorado for Thanksgiving this year, everyone is a bit all over the place! Hope you are having a great Sunday!
Those new marble counters in your studio are beautiful! I hope youโre taking good care of them so they last a long time. Do you find marble to be too delicate or too difficult to care for?
Hey Stephen,
Thank you! I personally love them so much and I donโt find marble to be fussy. Mine is honed marble and itโs a little more durable. In general I just embrace the stains, they will happen. But they do fade over time.
Hope you have a great day! Happy holidays!
Why donโt you ever share pics of when you host? You said itโs a hobby above, but you never show anything in your home, only styled shoots that others create! Would love to see what it looks like when you actually host! ๐
Thanks Sara! Iโll be sure to share pictures this year! Thanks for asking!
Have a great week and happy holidays!
When will the Thanksgiving menu be complete? Canโt wait for the pecan snickerdoodles!! ๐
Hi Sharon,
I decided to use the pecan cookies instead. The snickerdoodle cookies felt a little too similar. Let me work on some a new recipe and I will share a snickerdoodle recipe for Christmas!
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
How are you liking the studio??? Still hoping for a tour!
Hey Kelly,
I am loving the studio, it is truly amazing:) I promise to share soon! Thanks for asking and have a great Sunday!
Tieghan,
Thank you so much for your recipes and heartwarming blog. Iโve followed you for years. I donโt add comments often, but this morning I was moved to. The dog and I were up very early and we sat and spent some quiet time with you before anyone else was up.
Hope your Holidays are all you wish for. Be safe in all your travels, may God bless!
Debby
