Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com

Hey everyone! How are you all? I canโ€™t believe weโ€™re already in mid-Novemberโ€”Thanksgiving is SO close. Honestly, I canโ€™t wait. Iโ€™ve been home this week, and thereโ€™s nothing cozier than this time of year here. Itโ€™s chilly, and the second the sun slips behind the mountain, it suddenly feels like the holidays.

Weโ€™ve had mostly sunny but cold days. Not much snow yet, which is unusual. But I know once it comes, itโ€™ll instantly turn into Christmas-town around here.

This really is my favorite time. Iโ€™m trying to convince my cousins to come for Thanksgivingโ€”I want everyone here! (Itโ€™s an off year for some.) Itโ€™s always so much fun. What are your holiday plans?

Iโ€™m off to New York today to shoot something for the website that might be my favorite holiday post yet. I have this magical vision in my head, and Iโ€™m so excited to bring it to life. Iโ€™ve been planning nonstop and cooking all week. Adjusting to the new light and workflow this time of year has been tough, though. The sun setting so early is no fun.

But Iโ€™m happy. Really trying to give myself some grace and not be such a perfectionistโ€”so much easier said than done. As I get older, Iโ€™ve become so aware of who I amโ€ฆmy good traits and the little personal hang-ups that can slow me down.

Change is hard, you guys. And honestly, I donโ€™t think anything is harder than looking inwardโ€”at all of it, the good and the bad. But I also love reflection, and personal growth really fuels me to work smarter. So in that way, Iโ€™m grateful for it.

Itโ€™s nice having this space to share everything with all of you who show up here daily. I love our big, wonderful community. It feels like journaling and chatting with friends, and I know so many of you relate to how Iโ€™m feeling.

Whenever we do community events, hearing your stories in person completely melts my heart. It means everything.

We also have some exciting events coming up. I canโ€™t share details quite yet, but soonโ€”so keep an eye out!

Andโ€”big one this weekโ€”we launched the Christmas candle: Merry Mint Mocha! Iโ€™ve been burning it every single night this month. Itโ€™s my absolute favorite. I even packed it for New York. This scent brings me so much comfort and reminds me of my Nonnie, who I miss more and more every year. It feels so nostalgicโ€”sweet, minty, and chocolatey, just like her kitchen at Christmastime.

Make sure you order soon! Our Christmas candles go fast. Gingerbread is usually the top seller, but I have a feeling the peppermint mocha might take the lead this year. Which scent is your favorite?

This season is such a special time. I feel really lucky to have these opportunities and to be able to share everything with you.

Thatโ€™s all for this weekโ€”so much holiday excitement in the air and a lot of candle excitement too. Itโ€™s a big week!

1. Things Iโ€™m Loving.

giftingโ€ฆI found the perfect gift for my sister, Asher. She loves to sew (so did I! And my mom too). Iโ€™m ordering her this Singer sewing machine. It looks just like the sewing machine my mom had growing up! She is going to be so excited!

lovingโ€ฆthe idea of โ€œhosting as a hobbyโ€. Yes! I think hosting is my hobby. I love it and I love sharing how I host even more!

wantingโ€ฆall the Christmas pajamas/socks. So many cute ones this season. Skims are top of my list.

everything in my cart (low)โ€ฆfor my sister, sheโ€™s into supper puffy slippers. Adding these Lounge Mules to her Christmas list (I tend to spoil her). And then for me and maybe my mom, I found thisย Fleece Quarter Zip Jacket from Halfdays, and I canโ€™t stop thinking about it. I like the glazed cherry and alpine colors. The full zip jacket is nice too. Iโ€™m loving everyday jackets.

If you want a good holiday coat, this Short Faux Fur Coat is cute!

From Zara, for sure, this Heeled Riding Boot. These certainly look like Burberry boots!

Zara has the best chic coats. Iโ€™d get this Belted Faux Fur Coat orย Wool Blend Coat for dinner party nights. Style with these fur gloves (my mom used to have a Prada pair).

And finally, a Limited Edition Cut Out Short Dress. Again, holiday parties!

4. Perfect Thanksgiving Wine Pairings.

You all know I love a good holiday cocktail moment, but honestly? When it comes to hosting, simple always wins. And nothing is easier (or prettier!) than greeting guests with a few great bottles of wine already set out on the table. It feels welcoming, effortless, and instantly festive.

And this year, choosing wine is extra easy becauseโ€ฆ

We finally launched The HBH Wine Shop!

We worked with a team of sommeliers to put together the Thanksgiving Harvest Collection. And the best partโ€” itโ€™s super affordable and ships free for the holidays. Perfect for stocking up, gifting, or just making hosting feel way less stressful.

Quick reminder:
The last day to order for Thanksgiving delivery (free shipping) is November 21.
If you want wine on the table next Thursday, donโ€™t wait!

Here are a few favorites for Thanksgiving:

To Welcome Guests
โ€ข Sparkling Brut (California): Crisp green apple + a creamy little finish. This wine pairs beautifully with appetizers, like my go-to Thanksgiving Turkey Cheese Board.

โ€ข Sauvignon Blanc: If you donโ€™t love a bubbly, try the Sauvignon Blanc. Itโ€™s bright, light, and citrusy, and perfectly pairs with a variety of appetizers.

For Dinner
โ€ข Bruno Lafon Pinot Noir:ย My familyโ€™s pick! Light enough for turkey but full of warm red-berry flavors that pair beautifully with herbs, stuffing, and cranberries.

For Dessert
โ€ข Sparkling Moscatoย (Italy): Sweet honey notes and tiny bubbles โ€” such a fun pairing with pumpkin pie. My brothers love this one.

A Few More Good Ones
โ€ข Redland Ranch Reserve Zinfandel: Aย California wine with blackberry jam, warm spice, and vanilla. Wonderful for richer, heartier dishes.
โ€ข La Calice Rosรฉ: This Provence-style, dry wine pairs wellย with everything from roasted vegetables to fish courses. Itโ€™s pretty in the glass, which honestly matters when youโ€™re setting a beautiful table.

Holiday Packs to Make It Easy
โ€ข The Intimate Gathering: 6-Packย โ€” 6 bottles for $97.99
โ€ข The Big Feast: 12-Packย โ€” 12 bottles for $167.99 (was $195.98!)

Between the curated flavors, the reasonable pricing, and the free shipping, this is truly the easiest way to get your holiday wine handled with zero stress. One order and youโ€™re set for Thanksgiving โ€” and probably a few cozy nights after.

Let me know which bottles youโ€™re excited to try!

5. Community Stories.

6. A Little Home Chef Reminder!

More Thanksgiving talk! I just want to make sure no one misses the cutoff to order our Home Chef Thanksgiving side dish. Weโ€™re getting really close to the deadline, and I know how easy it is for the days to slip by this time of year. So consider this your friendly reminder!

So many of you have already ordered it, and I canโ€™t wait to see how you share and serve the potatoes this year. It has been so fun seeing the excitement!

And if everything goes smoothly, weโ€™re hoping to launch a full Thanksgiving menu with Home Chef next year โ€” the whole spread! Fingers crossed we can bring it to life.

  1. Hi there! Love reading your weekly post. This weekโ€™s was full of awesome content. I was interested in viewing links to the purse and gloves but couldnโ€™t. Maybe itโ€™s user error (me) but in case it isnโ€™t could your team check the link? Thanks so much!

    1. Hi Judy,
Thanks so much for taking the time to read today!

I just double checked for you and the links are working. I will also attach them here for you, purse and gloves

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

  2. The Thanksgiving shoot was nice. But, will this year finally be the year we get a peak at your actual Thanksgiving? Itโ€™s important to be present, but maybe you can grab a few quick pics of the table and food to post after the holiday. No need to show your guests.

    1. Hey Dolores! Yes I will certainly be sharing! Iโ€™ll have a lot of family and friends this Thanksgiving! I canโ€™t wait!

Hope you enjoy the menu and happy holidays!

  3. The first picture on this post with the candles and flowers is so very beautiful!

Love your messages from fans, itโ€™s just lovely to think we are all separate member of your big cooking community. ๐Ÿ’–

Hope you have another book bubbling away in the background?!

    Have a great week! Xx

    1. Hi Kelly-Jane,
Thanks for reading today and your kind message! I am so glad you enjoyed this post reading the messages from fans:)

      Enjoy your Sunday evening!

  4. Will you be hosting Thanksgiving this year? Or another holiday party? I hope youโ€™ll share a little of your actual spread! The staged photos are nice but weโ€™d all love to see what a real party looks like for you!

    1. Thanks so much, Alice!! Trying to convince my cousins to come to Colorado for Thanksgiving this year, everyone is a bit all over the place! Hope you are having a great Sunday!

  5. Those new marble counters in your studio are beautiful! I hope youโ€™re taking good care of them so they last a long time. Do you find marble to be too delicate or too difficult to care for?

    1. Hey Stephen,

Thank you! I personally love them so much and I donโ€™t find marble to be fussy. Mine is honed marble and itโ€™s a little more durable. In general I just embrace the stains, they will happen. But they do fade over time.

Hope you have a great day! Happy holidays!

  6. Why donโ€™t you ever share pics of when you host? You said itโ€™s a hobby above, but you never show anything in your home, only styled shoots that others create! Would love to see what it looks like when you actually host! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks Sara! Iโ€™ll be sure to share pictures this year! Thanks for asking!

Have a great week and happy holidays!

    1. Hi Sharon,
I decided to use the pecan cookies instead. The snickerdoodle cookies felt a little too similar. Let me work on some a new recipe and I will share a snickerdoodle recipe for Christmas!

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    1. Hey Kelly,
I am loving the studio, it is truly amazing:) I promise to share soon! Thanks for asking and have a great Sunday!

  7. Tieghan,

Thank you so much for your recipes and heartwarming blog. Iโ€™ve followed you for years. I donโ€™t add comments often, but this morning I was moved to. The dog and I were up very early and we sat and spent some quiet time with you before anyone else was up.
Hope your Holidays are all you wish for. Be safe in all your travels, may God bless!
    Debby
