Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com

Hey everyone! I hope you had the best week. It’s turning chilly here and autumn is slipping by—wild how fast this year has gone.

Looking back, we’ve had our share of hurdles, but so much work is finally behind us and I’m feeling good. My mom and I—along with our small team and a few tech wizards—have been going nonstop. You’ve probably noticed some site updates, with more rolling out through the end of the year. I’m especially excited about the new vertical video feature on the homepage (my mom worked so hard on this!). We’ve wanted video on the site forever, and now it’s live—go peek!

We’ve also got new collaborations (sharing one below!), a few more before year’s end, and our Williams-Sonoma events all lined up. Thanksgiving and holiday content is coming soon, with even more good things next year.

This year has taught me patience—good things take time—but consistency is everything. With steady work, the dreams happen.

It was a big week here. I’m keeping details under wraps for now, but I’m traveling again today, we have a major photoshoot this week, something fun in Dallas, and then the start of our fall tour with Williams-Sonoma.

We’ve put so much into making these nights special—some of our biggest events yet—and I can’t wait to see so many of you. I’m a little nervous, but mostly excited.

That’s the update for now. Enjoy this week’s favorites—we’ve got some really fun links and photos to share!

1. Things I’m Loving.

loving…Christmas stockings! Time to order yours. Here are some that I found recently.

also…this is a great Cast Iron Christmas Tree Stand if you love a real tree. I got this last season and it works really well! But now I want to splurge and get this Handcrafted Cast Iron Stand from Europe. It was made in the 1960s! It’s so pretty. No tree skirt needed!

everything in my cart (low)…at Zara this week, I’m loving these Heeled Riding Boots, which would be cute to style with these Long Shorts. And I LOVE this Fleece Bomber Jacket. It seems so high-end and chic!

This is a beautiful black dress from Reformation. It’s perfect for all the upcoming holiday parties!

If you’re craving a cozy fall knit, J.Crew’s rollneck sweaters are perfect. This 2025 Brushed Cashmere looks so soft. As does this cozy Rollneck Sweater in Supersoft Yarn (and it’s on sale!). Love the Marled 2025 Rollneck too! No one does affordable sweaters better than J. Crew.

I also love the color and style of this Cashmere Crew Cardigan from Reformation.

listening to…Hair Myths, Hacks, Products to Use & the Truth Behind the Glam with Jen Atkin. This is a fun, easy listen for anyone who enjoys beauty!

dreaming of going to…Riga, Latvia, for its Christmas Markets. Did you know that the people of Riga claim they were the ones to invent the Christmas tree back in 1510? Looks so cute!

practicing…Soleus Pushups. When I injured my ankle, I immediately started working on healing it. Once the boot was removed, I began doing calf raises to strengthen the ankle. Apparently, this exercise you can do at your desk can burn fat and steady blood sugar! Who knew!

home of the week…Zooey Deschanel and Property Brother Jonathan Scott’s home in Manhattan. The space is so unique and so pretty. I love the kitchen.

also…An inviting Cotswold house with gently layered interiors. It’s very cozy.

everything in my cart (beauty)…The Care & Detangling Hair Brush been loving this brush! I can’t decideonThe Essential Cherry Red. So pretty!

everything in my cart (high)…the Jadey Cashmere Oversized V-neck Sweater from Reformation! This is so good and comes in such rich tones for fall and winter. Pair the navy sweater with this Veda Barrow Leather Low Waist Skirt (in mole suede).

A beautiful long belted coat in alpaca from Carven. Midnight navy is a big color trend this season!

For my mom, she’d love this fringed cashmere wrap. I know she’d wear it all day like a personal blanket! And that color looks so pretty on her, too! Fringe is another big trend right now.

taking notes…on these awesome dinner party host tips. It’s that time of year to entertain. Love these tips. And you must read the comments too. SO many new ideas for entertaining this season. I would love it if you guys would share your dinner party tips. It’s so fun to learn!

4. What’s your best tip for a cozy home?

This time of year, I want the house to feel extra warm the second you step in from the cold. If I know guests are coming, I light a few candles and put on a simmer pot— with cider, cinnamon sticks, and warm spices. I use my holiday simmer-pot “recipe” on repeat all season.

I set out my favorite cozy (washable) Lola Blankets. And if I can, I have something fragrant and delicious baking in the oven (Holiday Chex Mix never fails). And, of course, a simple cheeseboard never hurts either.

If I had a fireplace (which I will in the new HBH Studio!), it would be crackling. And I’d offer a warming cocktail like a Chai Espresso Martini.

My easiest tip: candles burning and a cozy fire. Nothing better!

What do you do to create a cozy home? I’d love new ideas as we head into a busy holiday season!

5. Home Chef x HBH is back!

This is fun—our Home Chef collab is back! You’ll find all of our past meals on the menu and a brand-new Thanksgiving side: Cheesy French Onion Scalloped Potatoes. It’s our cozy, crowd-favorite take on a classic—rich, cheesy, oniony, and perfect for the holiday table.

Best part? No extra grocery run. Order for Thanksgiving week delivery, and dinner prep gets a little easier. Whether you’re hosting or bringing a side, this one travels well and steals the show.

We had so much fun creating it, and I know you’ll love it.
Ready to plan? You can order the Thanksgiving side now (and schedule your weekly dinners) right on the Home Chef site.

Tell me your favorites from the HBH x Home Chef menu—and are you excited for the new Thanksgiving side? I can’t wait to hear what you think!

  1. Do you have a link to the LA book signing you can share? I could’ve sworn you were coming here but now I can’t find it anywhere! thank you!

    1. Hi Allison,
So sorry, unfortunately I am no longer making a stop in LA! Thanks for asking. Have a great Monday!

  2. Can you please bring back the thing at the top of each recipe page that says when a recipe has been updated? I’d really appreciate it. Too hard for me to track the changes without it. Thank you so much

    1. Hi Cristina,
Thanks so much for sharing this feedback, we will take this into consideration! Hope you are having a great Monday!

  3. Hey Tieghan,

I always love reading your Nine Favorite Things there’s always something to comment. While I love your recipes it’s a nice touch for Sunday’s to be a little different. It’s kind of a smorgasbord something for everyone. Two things caught my eye. I see you like Gilmore Girls. It was one of my favorite things to watch when I was in college. It was also an excuse to go down to the hall and watch in one of the girls rooms I was friends with. Have you ever heard of Virgin River or watched it on Netflix? It’s a must watch if you haven’t I love it!! Wow, I loved the article about Panera Bread. They used to be the gold standard of clean healthy options. To see how they’ve cut corners is sad but not surprising. Any chain that doesn’t prioritize healthy options and clean ingredients will almost never see my business. I try really hard to support all the small businesses out there especially in the economic times were in. Those big corporations don’t give a hoot about you and I. They will almost always put profits over people. What is your take do you agree with me? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

    1. Hi Mike,
Thanks for reading each week as always! Who doesn’t love Gilmore Girls am I right?! I have heard a lot about Virgin River, but I’ve never watched it. I’ll have to add that to my list. Yes, totally agree with you about the chain food options, I think eating local is a great option if you can do that and if not, cooking your own food is always best in my book! Have a great Monday!

  4. I wanted to view the Home Chef meal pricing to see if it’s within my budget, but it looks as if I’m not able to see any prices without first entering my info/selecting preferences. Am I doing something wrong? Just want to know the cost and if I can’t afford it I move on. Thanks

    1. Hi Patty,
Thanks for asking! You are not doing anything wrong, you will have to enter your information and select your preferences to see prices as they can vary depending on how often you are getting meals delivered. I hope this helps!
