Happy Spooktacular October!
I hope youโve all had a spooktastic week. Iโm so excited that spooky season is here, itโs truly one of my favorite times of the year. Even though life feels a little chaotic right now, I can still feel all the cozy magic that this season brings.
Iโm thrilled to share that our first piece of Halloween content is coming next week โ itโs frightfully fun! We shot the story in New York, and I think youโre going to love it.
After a week spent at home, Iโm looking forward to some travel later this month. Thereโs so much happening! Iโll be back and forth from New York, plus heading to Dallas, San Francisco, and a few new cities for our Williams-Sonoma fall/holiday tour (Iโm sharing updates below!). Itโs going to be such a fun season.
Before all of that kicks into high gear, Iโm home for the next couple of weeks โ hoping for sunny fall days and cozy nights. Iโll definitely be watching my favorite Halloween movies (Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, and of course, Harry Potter). Reruns of Gilmore Girls have also been on repeat lately. They always bring so much comfort and remind me of fall back home in Cleveland.
Speaking of home, the leaves are gorgeous right now! Weโve got that crisp chill in the air, and the trees are just past their peak โ golden, orange, and so pretty.
Thatโs it for our weekly catch-up! I have so many fun things to share below. Wishing you a cozy Sunday โ Iโll be burning a pumpkin smash candle mixed with an apple cider candle (the secret is burning them together!) while baking soft pumpkin sugar cookies today.

giftingโฆLola Blankets. As we head into the holiday season, Iโm noting everything I want to gift this season. Lola Blankets are top of my list for friends and as hostess gifts. I know if someone brought me a cozy blanket, I would be excited! I have some inside scoop that their holiday collections is launching very soon. All I have to say is you need to be on the lookout because I think itโs going to sell out fast! Also, I highly recommend the weighted blanket (I think itโs my personal favorite).
cozying up withโฆHanna Andersson holiday PJs.ย Speaking of gifting, holidays, and getting cozy, how cute are theย Hanna Andersson pajamas?ย I donโt have kids, but for those of you who do, I love the Halloween collection. Itโs so cute! My cousin just had a little girl. I want to send her this Halloween HannaJams Sleeper. And for Christmas, Oslo would be so excited about these Dr. Seuss Grinch HannaJams Pajama Set. Also, the holiday collection has matching adult PJs. Get them for the family! Thisย Holiday Plaid Matching Family Pajama set is cute and festive.
coatsโฆeverything in my cart (low)โฆthe Nike Full-Zip Jacket Windrunner. This is great for outdoor workouts through the fall. I love that itโs good for travel too!
I also found thisย Water Repellent Wind Resistant Stretch Nylon Jacket from The North Face (and itโs on sale), as well as a very cute Cropped Unify Jacket from Alo.
Sweater-wise, Iโm into thisย Twist Reversible Sweater on Nordstrom. And both my mom and I love White & Warren. I added this cute Cashmere Neckerchief to my Shopbop cart. She added this Cashmere Crewneck to her White and Warren cart.
I wear the Perfect White Tee brand all the time. They make for awesome layering pieces. Adding the Hendrix Tee 3 Pack to my Shopbop cart.
And a pretty Reformation Knit Shrug Dress Set. Easy to style with fall boots!
listening toโฆ
travelingโฆ. Weโll be heading to Milan for hockey during the winter Olympics (Red competes in Livigno), so Iโm bookmarking everything on this list!
lovingโฆthe new Antique Arras Peel and Stick Wallpaper by Jeremiah Brent. Pretty!
shoppingโฆthe new New Balance sneaks. I have the 1906R Sneaker and love them. But Iโm into these new WTAPS x New Balance Abzorb 2010.
shoppingโฆZara 50th Birthday Collection. The brand is dropping 50 new objects designed in collaboration with people across art, design, film, and fashion. All proceeds will benefit Womenโs Earth Alliance. Very cool! You can start shopping tomorrow, October 6th.
everything in my cart (beauty)โฆexcited to try the new Rhode peptide eye prep set. I always travel with eye patches and put them on at night after I shower. Theyโre easy to throw on, so I love them!
Theย Eau Duelle Eau de Toilette from Diptyque sounds like a lovely fall scent with notes of vanilla.
nailsโฆIโm into a dark nail for October, and OPI has some pretty opaque colors! Dark Cherry Cutney is spooky but still pretty, and Malaga Wine is a nice fall shade that would be cute for Thanksgiving.
My hair has been getting easily tangled lately and taking forever to brush. Iโm ordering The Care & Detangling Hair Brush after reading about how good it is! But you guys, which color brush should I get? I canโt decide between The Essential Cherry Red and The Essential Terracotta. And honestly, theย โOctobre Roseโ Limited Edition is really pretty too! Whatโs your favorite?
wearingโฆJ.Crew is doing everything right this season. Iโve been living in their brushed cashmere V-neck sweater.
also wearingโฆI love fleece jackets in the fall. This season, I actually got two! The Cabernet Fleece Cady Quarter Zip. The cabernet is sold out, but the black is cute too (and fully stocked). And from Alo, the Sherpa Edge Shacket in espresso โ just restocked (the navy and the black are cute too). Skims has a cute boxy jacket too.
followingโฆDr. Amy Shah. I recently listened to a podcast she was on. Iโm excited to follow.ย Also,ย Doctor Tara,ย whom I found through theย Aspire podcast linked above.ย
getting excitedโฆfor all the new holiday decor launching! Currently scrolling the Mcgee and Co Holiday Boutique. They design classic, timeless decor, which is very much my style for holiday decorating. I love this pretty Faux Dried Oranges Garland.
everything in my cart (high)โฆhow cute is this cardigan from Tanya Taylor. I really love the raisin shade for fall. If youโre more of a neutral color girl, this cardigan from Revolve looks really cozy.
Thisย Low Waist Leather Maxi Skirt from Reformation has Thanksgiving dinner look written all over it. So pretty, and the color makes it perfect for the holidays. Iโd definitely wear it with this pretty STAUD Canal Top Canal Top. Just add boots!

When did it become OK to speak to people you donโt even know in such a negative โ sometimes even hateful โ way? Itโs something Iโve been feeling deeply lately, and itโs hard to understand.
The body shaming. The cruel, unnecessary comments. Even the threats and relentless criticism. Itโs painfulโand itโs not okay. We shouldnโt treat anyone this way.
I try every day to create recipes and content that make people feel happy, inspired, and connected. So itโs hard to read words meant to tear down rather than lift up.
Please remember:
If you donโt have anything kind to say, donโt say it at all.
Words have power. They can hurt โ even those who seem strong on the outside.
Before posting something negative, ask yourself:ย How would I feel if someone said this to me, or to someone I love? Would I want to cause that kind of hurt?
I hope we can all choose kindness more often. Thatโs what I want this space to be, a place filled with love, warmth, and inspiration.
Itโs a spooky one! I am very excited to be gifting 10 winners over on Instagram the Staub pumpkins! Everyone LOVES these when I break them out every season.ย Giveaway ends Thursday night (October 9th).

Hey Tieghan,
I always enjoy reading these posts you share such a great variety of content. The fall tour looks like so much fun. I am extremely envious that California getโs three stops and poor old AZ next door we get nothing. Itโs the perfect weather this time of the year even with all the rain weโve had this month. You truly are my inspiration for cooking. It would be such a dream come true to meet you. Secondly, itโs sad to see some of the hateful comments that people post. Just know you are amazing as well as the recipes you create. Kindness goes a long way and you deserve nothing less. Lastly, I love French Toast and brunch so this is a no brainer to make very soon. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for reading today and your comment. Sorry I wasnโt able to make a stop in AZ this year! I appreciate you trying so many recipes:) Hope you are off to a great Sunday!
Just getting around to reading this blog and as always loved all the content. Thank you for your efforts !
Thanks so much, Marlie! I appreciate you taking the time to read today and your comment! Happy Fall!
Itโs NOT okay to post negative/hurtful/painful remarks. Would those same people dare to say them to your face? I very much doubt it. Itโs the cowardly approach, and Iโm SO sorry hurtful words have been directed at you. You donโt deserve that; no one does! Hurtful words & actions cause much pain. Most people would agree that kindness and love are the best approaches to living. Sadly, the commenters have not made the connection between the two.
Love your blog so much!
Hi Molly,
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment today, you are so very kind:) I totally agree with you! Thanks for following. Have a great week!
I agree wholeheartedly with your points on #5. Even if I didnโt agree/like or whatever, I do know that everyone has an opinion but if it is negative/mean then donโt say anything. We all need to be kinder to everyone and I practice that daily. You are doing a wonderful job with your blog, recipes, book tours and everything else that you do.
BTW โ I was at your book/cooking demo in Dallas earlier this year. I was the one who talked about the Korean inspired tacos. You were right, they were your recipe โCrockpot Korean Inspired Tacos with Yum Yum Yummy Sauceโ. So so delicious!!! Thank you!!
Thanks so much, Sheila:) I appreciate your kind message today! Thanks for coming to Dallas! Have a great fall weekend:)
Your recipes are my number 1 go to!!! When friends eat at my house they say โis this half baked harvest?โ and they know it is. I have most of my employees hooked on you as well. I own every cookbook and gift them to friends and family every holiday. Focus on the positive because you have a lot of it. Give yourself compassion and remember people can only hurt you if you let them. Love everything about your brand. Keep putting out the great content!!!
Aww, thank you so much, Molly! This truly means so much to me, I appreciate all of your support! Have a great day!
You need to do a book signing in Denver or Summit County. I live in Evergreen so either would work for me. Please and thank you!
Thanks so much for this recommendation, Meghan! Hopefully we can do one soon!
I want to thank you for being so generous sharing your recipes with us. I enjoy your posts every Sunday. I love your cookbooks!
Thank you so much, Greer:) I appreciate you reading each week! Happy Fall!
Your pictures of recipes have put me in the fall mood! It is still warm in Chicago โ 85 degrees this week, so I was still feeling summery. Your photos are so beautiful I can smell the fall deliciousness. I am looking forward to trying many of them!
Hey Ginger,
Wow! 85 degrees?! Thatโs wild! Happy to get you into the spooky mood:) Thanks for reading! xx
You said you are going to the Olympics in Italy for hockey but Red is a snowboarder. What is actually going on?
Hi Wendy,
Yes, that is correct. We will be in Milan to watch the hockey. Red will be competing in Livigno. Thanks for asking!
I absolutely CAN NOT wait for your Halloween posts!!! So excited!!
Thanks so much, Lisa!
Hi, TieghanโI always enjoy your โNine Favorite Thingsโ on Sundaysโitโs informative and fun and includes beautiful pictures. I have made many of your recipes and have always loved them. People who write disparaging things would never say those things to anyoneโs faceโI know itโs hard for you to read them and just let them roll off but please know that there are SO MANY OF US who really appreciate you and your talent! I hope you have a good week ahead. Enjoy this beautiful time of year!
Hi Josie,
Thank you so much for your kind message and taking the time to write today:) It means a lot to me! So glad you enjoy the Sunday posts as much as I do. Have the best week!
Tieghan has posted a bunch of pictures with weights, but has never shown what she does with them. A video of her routine would be a bit more interesting than a picture of her socks. Just a thought.
Thanks for sharing this suggestion, Keri! Have a nice week!
I think a lot about the mean commenters. When reading their comments, itโs very obvious that they arenโt real reviewers, they havenโt made the recipe, and they arenโt going to. For whatever reason, they are making the time in their day to visit websites and spew hate. Itโs a new thing. If you look at your posts from a few years ago, the negativity isnโt present. Whatever might be missing or wrong in their livesโฆwe canโt fix it. Only they can do that. I applaud you for your grace and dignity in handling the nonsense comments. Please know that you HAVE built a friendly, appreciative community. I thoroughly enjoy reading their comments and feedback. Thank you for all the content that you have given to us and I look forward to many, many more years!
Hi Lisa,
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and share this with me:) I do agree with you, the internet has definitely evolved throughout the years and not always in the best way. People like you make it all worth it! So thanks for being here! Have a great week ahead!
What if you did a livestreamed baking demo on your book tour? Iโm attending (virtually!) one of those by another cookbook author and thought it was a brilliant idea! Great way to see technique and get lots of questions answered!
Hey Elizabeth,
Thanks so much for sharing this suggestion, definitely something to look into for the future! Happy Sunday!
