It is so fall here in the mountains. I just got back from New York, where it was sunny and 82 degrees when I left, to chilly mountain temps, snow-capped peaks, and four straight days of rain and darkness. My mom and I joked that it felt like late November back in Cleveland.
I canโt say I hated it โ it was cozy and immediately put me in full fall mode โ but it made photography and video nearly impossible. Making the most of it seemed like the best approach. I ended up spending a few days catching up on a long list of admin work instead. I tried cooking one day andโฆwell, it didnโt go so well.
Thankfully, the sun is back now, and the trees are glowing with deep shades of orange and yellow. Soon the leaves will fall and winter will set in โ early for most places, but totally normal up here. We embrace it! My mom is already eager to start Christmas music (and movies). I canโt say Iโm not excited too.
How about you? Did you enjoy the first week of autumn? Has anyone cracked open a can of pumpkin yet? Shockingly, Iโm still baking with apples, but pumpkin is definitely happening this week.
And yesโฆspooky season! I mentioned this last week, but I shot something very fun in New York that I get to share with you soon โ itโs Halloween-focused and I think youโll love it. This week I also started planning Thanksgiving (I have to think about the holidays early so I can get you everything you need in time!). Iโm so excited about what weโre brewing up this fall โ itโs all so fun, and you donโt have long to wait.

Fall is my favorite season and this weekโs post from you is giving me all the feels. Love the food, fashion and travel inspo. Also, I was lucky to visit and stay at Adare Manor in Ireland many years ago for a work trip and it was fabulous! I highly recommend it. (It would also be an incredible spot for a photo shoot.)

LOVE fall, a toss up with my other favorite season, winter. I do love the snow and the winter wonderland landscapes it brings. Iโm in the Sangre de Cristo mountains in southern Colorado and our aspen are just starting to turn. I so enjoy when you post fall pictures of โyourโ mountains and your fabulous fall recipes! Like you, I am Team Fall all the way. We are currently in Stockholm, Sweden then flying to Berlin, Germany tomorrow morning. We were in Denmark & Sweden last May & wanted to return to see things we didnโt see last year!
Today we had an action packed day looking at subway art (amazing), shopped at a working glass factory & took a tour of the Vasa Museum to see a Viking ship that was underwater for 3 centuries!
We figured we should travel while we could, healthwise, although I realiza not everyone is so blessed. While I love being here & will be happy to do fall cooking, we will also be happy to be back home with our โkidsโ-2 orange tabbies & a res used 3 year old yellow Lab!
