Nine Favorite Things

Happy Sunday and happy August! I’m so excited for this new month. I know some of you might be dreading the late-summer heat, but honestly, that’s one of the things I love most about this time of year.

We’ve got a lot coming up this month! I spent a good chunk of the week working on mood boards for some upcoming photoshoots happening in just a couple of weeks. This is actually the longest I’ve stayed in one place without traveling in a while. Kind of funny considering I used to hate traveling—but now I miss it so much and can’t wait to be back on the go again soon!

Does anyone else love a good mood board? I use them for everything—photoshoots, website design, logos, product development…you name it. I’ve been making them since I was a kid.  They used to be a hodgepodge of magazine cutouts, but now I build mine online with Canva. I always start with a Pinterest board, then drag the photos over into Canva to make each mood board special. They help me stay focused and inspired—especially as such a visual person.

If you’re like me and enjoy visuals, I love this Vision Board kit Camille Styles created. It’s a nice project to do seasonally and always keeps me inspired.

Aside from the photoshoots, we have some product launches this month that I can’t wait to reveal. More details on that below! Plus, of course, lots of new recipes. I’ve been working on a zucchini, corn, and peach recipe this past week that I hope to get right. And I have a fridge full of raspberries, I will find a way to use.

It’s been a good week. And for those of you who’ve been asking—thank you! My ankle is feeling much better. I’m not quite back to full speed, but I’m definitely making progress and so grateful for your kind messages.

As we look ahead to September (I know, how is that even possible?!), there’s so much to come. Fall is right around the corner—and even though I love these long, sunny days, you know my heart belongs to fall.

What have you been up to? Anything you’re looking forward to?

Please share below!

1. Things I’m Loving, Wanting, and Excited to Try.

loving…fresh summertime peaches! I just finished shooting a new peach recipe and I can’t stop. I was sent a box of the sweetest prettiest peaches last week from Peaches LA, and I have savored every last one. New peach recipes are coming this week and next, but then come September 1st, I’ll be in full-on apple mode. If you need something to bake this weekend, try my Peach Magic CookiesCinnamon Crunch Peach Muffin Bread, or my Caramel Peach Dump Cake. All are DELISH!

eating…Baja Gold Mineral Sea Salt. Sprinkle this over an avocado. It makes for  the perfect satisfying, nutritious snack. You could add cherry tomatoes and crumbled feta too. Yum!

enjoying…Lineage Provisions. Finally found a collagen powder I like. I mix this into my coffee every morning. Also love their air-dried steaks, and I’m giving their original protein a try too!

everything in my cart (low)…lots to share here. First off, the Frankie’s Bikinis Cotton Mini Dress is so pretty. I feel like it’s very fit for September “back to school” days. Or try this Reformation Linen Dress.

From Zara, a very cute Knit Cardigan With Elbow-Length Sleeves. I would pair this Striped Oversized Poplin Shirt, with these Extra Wide Leg Jeans, and Running Sneakers.

This is a perfect Halter Jacquard Dress. And an even more perfect Cotton T-Shirt (into the strips!).

And a Suede Maxi Tote for the end of summer and fall.

Lastly, a perfect pair of Poplin Wide-Leg Pajama Pants from Old Navy.

listening to…The Debrief: My Closet Revamp, The Next Gold Rush in Fashion Tech, and Fall Style Predictions.

travel…A Guide to Napa Valley, California Wine Country’s Crown Jewel. I’ve personally stayed at Stanly Ranch by Auberge Resorts Collection and it is magical. I highly recommend.

shopping…Arie bras. This is a bit random, but a friend told me to try the Sunnie Wireless Push Up from Arie because she loves it so much. She actually bought 3! It’s been great. I like it because it’s wireless, but still gives a small amount of push-up, which I appreciate!

wanting…new sheets. I really need a fresh pair and am thinking about trying these Bed Threads Organic Cotton Percale in espresso for fall.

dreaming about…the Collegio alla Querce hotel in the Hills of Florence, Italy. Absolutely stunning. I studied the rooms and I think I’d want to stay in Suite Giardino or Residenza la Quercia. So pretty. Plus, it’s Florence!

everything in my cart (beauty)…the Flamingo Estates Jasmine & Rose Bath Set and Manuka Rich Cream. The Jasmine & Damask Rose Soap Brick makes taking your everyday shower feel like a spa day. And the Manuka Rich Cream is the most soothing body cream. Both smell wonderful! Plus, the brand’s candles are some of my favorites right now!

I’ve been layering the Manuka Cream with either the Osea Undaria Alga Body Oil or the Vanilla Verve Vitamin C Body Oil from Cyklar. I love the feel – and the ingredients of both! I can’t stop using either. It’s so dry where I live, these products are saving my skin.

And I just got this Oral-B Deep Clean Toothbrush. I was in need of a fresh brush and this is great!

practicing…an Anti-Cortisol Yoga Pose For Better Sleep.

Something fun…Beauty Secrets Sofia Richie Grainge.

everything in my cart (high)…At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about these antiqued leather pumps from Prada. But after reaching out to them for more photos, I think I love them. Also, this large bag from Bottega Veneta. Simple but a great everyday bag.

A pretty lace dress from Dôen and cute red shorts. Plus, the coziest Miu Miu Fleece Jacket. Getting excited for fall styles!

following…Interior designer. Discovered both Ashton Taylor Interiors this week.

shopping…planners because it’s back-to-school season! The Golden Coil notebooks and planners are still some of my favorites. This Metallic Wildflowers Daily Life Planner is cute too. I go through notebooks quickly, so every few months I grab a new one from Anthropologie for recipe writing down recipes. I don’t usually get such a fancy one, but this Linen Hardcover Journal is cute and currently in my cart.

Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com

This is so exciting—we have a lot to share before the end of the year!

First up, by popular demand, Apple Cider Smash is coming back! This scent flew off the shelves last year (it sold out on day one). Aside from Pumpkin Smash, it’s probably my personal favorite we’ve ever created.

Even more exciting? We’re launching two brand-new product categories—and for the first time, we’re stepping outside of candles! These new pieces have been nearly two years in the making, and I seriously cannot wait to finally share them with you.

You can sign up here to join the waitlist and get exclusive updates on the launches.

And just a little teaser… we’ve got one more cozy surprise coming closer to December. Stay tuned!

  1. I feel like everything on your ideas of things to make for fall list are already on your website, some of them you have multiple variations of recipes for. Would love some creative new ideas, not the same old stuff! I think this is the problem with posting a recipe a day, eventually you repeat things over and over and run out of creative ideas.

      Have a great week! xT
