Nine Favorite Things

Wow – I’ve officially decided I need to move to Palm Beach… I thrive here! The warmth, the sunshine, the flowers, the palm trees—and yes, even the humidity (my skin loves it!)—I love it!

We came down for a photoshoot, and I seriously cannot wait to share it with you. The best part? You won’t have to wait long! This one’s just for the website—no long lead times, no waiting until next year. It’s our little kick-off to summer, and I’m crossing my fingers it sparks some fun ideas for your own sunny get-togethers. It’s a really fun shoot!

We were lucky to spend a few nights in town and stayed at the most charming hotel, The Colony. This hotel is so special After long shoot days, we wrapped with some really great dinners. If you’re heading to Palm Beach (or nearby), definitely try Buccan for dinner. It’s so cute inside, and everything we ordered was delicious—empanadas, steak tartare, New York strip, corn pasta, burrata… and you must save room for the cookie. It’s scrumptious!

But the real highlight of the trip? I got to bring my favorite team—and my younger sister, Asher. It was so special having her there. We squeezed in some shopping on Worth Avenue and a sweet sister dinner, too. One of my favorite trips to date.

We flew back to Colorado on Friday, and tomorrow I’m off to New York. I’ll be speaking at a conference on Tuesday, then Wednesday evening, we’re kicking off the first Williams-Sonoma Summer Tour! I cannot wait.

I’m sharing all the tour details below, so be sure to check that out.

And oh my gosh—how is it already June 1st? Summer officially begins on June 20. But it feels like it’s already arrived!

What are your plans for June? Hosting anything fun? Making something delicious? I’d love to hear what you’re up to this month!

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday!

1. Things I’m Loving, Wanting, and Excited to Try.

loving…See What’s Inside Paige Drummond’s Wedding Welcome Boxes. This is such a cute idea! I love a gifting moment.

ordering…a Folding Step Stool, found this on Amazon. I’m always standing on chairs when I photograph dishes overhead. This is perfect because it’s easy to store and it’s also kind of cute!

dreaming of going…Cheval Blanc Paris Hotel. I might have a Paris trip happening this fall, and I’m already dreaming about staying at this pretty Paris hotel. I am such a sucker for a pretty hotel!

everything in my cart (low)…the absolute cutest bucket hat for summer. Wear it with this cropped T-shirt (any color but the blue strip is cute!), these high rise loose shorts (or I like these denim jorts), and these flip flops. I add this pearl necklace.

ordering…the cutest summer bucket bag.

listening to…The Debrief: How To Travel in Style This Summer, The Bags Actually Worth Investing In, And My Trip to Japan.

summer travel…9 Travel Destinations to try this year.

obsessed with…this large resin salad bowl on Net-a-Porter paired with these pretty stone swirled resin servers (in brown). I also love their green servers. And their rock swirled resin jug is really fun too! Also, I just discovered Dinosaur Designs. They have the most unique homeware pieces. I wish they weren’t so expensive!

everything in my cart (beauty)…Marc Jacobs’ iconic Daisy Eau So Intense Eau de Parfum. I always wanted this in middle school. I love that it’s having a comeback!

watching…‘Call Her Daddy’ Host Alex Cooper Sets Documentary With Hulu.

everything in my cart (high)…I just think this Estella Bikini Top and matching bottom from Cult Gia are super cute! I’d add this small crochet bag from Prada! Perfect beach or pool day look.

Finding summer nail inspiration…these manicures from Hailey Bieber are such cute ideas and fun too!

shopping…everything from Heaven Mayhem. The Heaven Mayhem x Real Fine Studio Collection is so pretty. I’m into timeless jewelry and found the perfect Gemstone Studs and Tennis Bracelet. I have (love) the icon watch. Super pretty!

practicing…“Adult Tummy Time”–Here’s Why It’s Actually Beneficial. I’m on a never-ending mission to correct my posture. I love sitting on the floor anyway, so this is something I sometimes do naturally.

wearing…wearing a weighted vest. Or I should be at least! The benefits include better posture, adds resistance training, and increases muscle mass. All things I’m looking to do! I ordered this one, but also read that this vest is a good option too. Start slow and work your way up over time. Baby steps!

also wearing…the Forme Power Bra. My mom ordered this for me so long ago, and I’m finally trying to wear it more often. The Power Bra is an FDA-registered posture-correcting bra engineered to immediately improve your upper body alignment and body foundation. Again, always trying to better my posture.

5. Updates – Renovations & Housing.

Many of you have been asking for updates on the renovations, housing, and what’s going on in general. And honestly? I still don’t really know. The lack of updates is simply because so much is still up in the air. We’re in the middle of making some big, life-changing decisions, and—like with any construction project—we’re behind schedule.

The Studio is mostly finished in terms of construction, but furniture and all the fun details won’t be installed until October or November. I have so many photos and plans to share—I’m just behind on pulling it all together. I’ll share a few here and get a full post up this summer!

As for my house, we’ve decided to scale back renovations for now. I’ve been questioning everything: where do I really want to live? Is it the right time to dive into a big renovation? The truth is… I’m just not sure.

One thing I do know is that I don’t love being in Colorado year-round. Spring and summer are especially tough—the weather changes by the minute. One second it’s sunny, the next there’s a storm, and then back to sun again. It makes shooting photos really challenging. And with my family traveling more, I often find myself there alone—which I don’t love.

So, where do I want to be? That’s the million-dollar question. I love Miami. I love Palm Beach. But do I want to be there part-time? I just don’t know yet!

It’s been stressful and a bit of a mental tangle, but we’re working through it. And when I have clear answers, I promise—I’ll share them with you.

The upside? Amber Interiors has created and executed the most gorgeous plans for the studio. I’m so in love with the space already, and it’s only going to get better. You can see a little sneak peek below!

6. The Williams Sonoma Summer Tour!

Next up—an update on the Williams-Sonoma Summer Tour! Many of you have been asking for details, and I’m so excited to finally share more. These events will be a little different from past book signings. I wanted to create something extra special for you all.

Do you need to purchase a cookbook to attend?

You do! I apologize to those of you who have already gotten your books, but this is a requirement we have to keep in order to help support these events. If I had the option, I’d make each event free. But at the same time, we want to provide an amazing experience for everyone attending. If you have a book already, I’m happy to sign that too! Bring old books, new books, and get a book as a gift!

What makes each event special?

This isn’t your typical book signing. I’ll actually be cooking at every stop! The plan is to feature a different recipe in each city—right now I’m thinking pizzas (they’re fun and flexible!). We’ll be passing around food to taste, plus there’ll be non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy. And to make things even more personal, we’ll wrap up with a Q&A—so bring your questions!

It’s going to be fun, casual, and interactive—my favorite kind of event.

You can grab your tickets here! All the dates and cities are listed below. I can’t wait to see you on tour!

  1. Hello! I think multiple pauses with the Reno is probably your gut telling you it’s not the right thing right now. Listen to your gut. Go try living away from your family, try Florida, or southern CA, try Texas or Arizona, NYC or Paris! Life is too short, you gotta live it to the fullest.

    1. Thanks so much for reading today and sharing your encouragement, Payton! Hope you had a wonderful Sunday! xx

  2. Hi Tieghan,

I just got tickets to see you in Palo Alto, I’m so excited! Also, if you need ideas for things to post about, I’d love to see more pictures of your goats! They always look so sweet

    1. Yay! Thank you so much, Christine! It should be a great time:) I can definitely share more goat photos, thanks for the suggestion! Happy Sunday! xT

  3. So happy to see you and your sister at the photo shoot! And, as always wonderful recipes!
    Best wishes to your future!

    1. Thanks so much, Carol:) I am so glad Asher was able to come, we had the best time! Thanks for reading today! xx

  4. Instead of lifestyle behind the scenes, would you consider doing some behind the scenes of your recipe development? How do you create 6+ recipes per week? Do you often test multiple things simultaneously? Or are you able to often get things right the first time since you have so much experience? I’ve seen some bloggers have a whole team and spend weeks perfecting just one recipe so it’s truly incredible how fast you put out content! I know you’ve mentioned you’re a perfectionist so wondering what your secret is, there doesn’t seem like enough hours in the day to work at the pace you do.

    1. Hey Stevie! Sure I can try to do this, it is tricker to film since I am also working, but I will! Yes, I create multiple recipes per day and try to cook most day I am home in Colorado. Each recipe is tested 3 to 8 times depending on what is needed per recipe. I work sun up to sun down! So it is a lot of hours spent in the kitchen. Happy to answer any questions you have and chat more details! Maybe I will share next week! Have a great Thursday!!

  5. Got tickets to see you on the tour in Palo Alto with my daughter! We are so looking forward to the event!!! No worries about the book…I love to gift them! I will just have an extra on hand for next time! Win win!
    Happy June!🥰

    1. Hey Libby,
Thanks so much for reading today and your kind message! I can’t wait to meet you and your daughter in Palo Alto, it should be a great time! Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday! xx

  6. Hi Tieghan! I hope you’re having a fab Sunday! I’ve been a huge fan of your cookbooks ever since I found one on eBay. I’m planning to try iced tea this summer. I’m really nervous yet excited about it! I was wondering if you could do an iced tea recipe? Perfect for summer, as we may be going to Mexico! Have a good day!

    1. Hi Hattie,
Thanks for taking the time to comment, I am so glad you have been enjoying the cookbooks! Love to iced tea idea, thanks for the recipe suggestion! Have a wonderful time in Mexico:) xx

  7. Will the studio be used for anything else in addition to cooking, or just for you? Looking forward to more updates!

    1. Hi Ilene,
Thanks for your question! Yes, the studio is used mostly for cooking, but we also enjoy having large family dinners there, team meetings (when the team is in town), and just hanging out together:) Hope you are having a great start to your week! xx

  8. I’m genuinely asking, you say your family tests all your recipes, things on repeat, etc but if they’re traveling so much (as mentioned above), how are they able to taste test & consume your daily recipes?

    1. Hey Regan! I typically am testing recipes for multiple weeks and usually when they are here in Colorado, I am here too. We try to schedule our schedules around each other so we are home at the same time. Does that make sense? Let me know if you have more questions! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out!!! Have a nice week!!!!

  9. Love all your photos! From Palm Beach to behind the scenes of your photoshoots and the recipes, they’re all so beautiful!

  10. The renovations looks so nice. I think with your constantly going back and forth with the house Reno’s that is a clear sign that something in your heart is telling you you don’t want to live there. I’ll compare it to when I was engaged to the wrong man and I went dress shopping 4 different times and couldn’t find “ the dress” it wasn’t the dress! Follow your heart, it can be overwhelming and scary but that is life! If you decide to move to Florida, remember nothing permanent in life you can change your mind at anytime. I have lived in 4 states and 3 countries and learned so much about myself!

    1. Hey Monica!
Yes, I definitely think you understand where I am coming from right now:) I appreciate your support and encouragement. Definitely a big move to make, but I need to follow my heart:) Thanks again, have the best week! xx

  11. It seems like you really don’t like Colorado anytime of year, you often complain about the winter weather too! I feel like it’s time for you to branch off on your own and leave the nest. It can be scary when you’ve lived near your parents your whole life but you will be amazed at how strong you are and how good it will feel to make a life on your own. Listen to your gut!

    1. Hi Linda,
Thanks a lot for taking the time to read today! Yes, you could be right! I am working to figure it out the best I can! In the meantime I am so excited over the space and looking forward to sharing it! Have the best week ahead and again, thank you for taking the time to read and share your thoughts!

  12. I love that you are exploring other places to live. As a summit county native myself and practically used to be a neighbor (lived on the same hill, road G), there are things I love about summit and things I do not miss one bit. I moved to Denver almost 10 years ago, best decision I ever made. Scary at the time but I’d never look back/move back to the mounains.

Keep searching for your happy place you’ll find it 🥰.

    1. Hey Emily,
Thanks for taking the time to read today:) Wow, what a small world! Yes, I totally can agree with how you feel about Summit and I am so glad you are happy in Denver! Thanks for the encouragement! Have the best day! xxT

  13. Happy Sunday, Tieghan, Gerard fam, and HBH team! What a fantastic NFT this week! I’m so glad you had fun in Palm Beach. I could totally see you living there, if even part-time. I totally get the indecision of where you might want to live. It’s a huge decision! Just take your time and explore all your options. You will find what’s best for you. Also, Asher is gorgeous! She looks just like you and your mom. 🥰 Have a wonderful week ahead!

    1. Hey Jen,
Happy Sunday and thanks for reading! Thanks for your encouragement and support on the living situation:) Asher is a beauty for sure, she is growing up so fast! Have the best week:) xxT

  14. I would love to see some actual cooking demonstrations as opposed to just putting toppings on a pizza!

    1. I agree Quinn! The only challenging part of cooking pizzas is getting the dough right and obviously that can’t take place at a cooking demonstration! I feel confident enough to put cheese and toppings on some pre-made dough. I’d love to learn some new techniques or even some educational moments on why certain flavors mesh well together.

    2. Yes. I’d like to see your cooking expertise in person. I’d also prefer a vegetarian option too

  15. Thanks for sharing more info about your renovation! I’m a bit surprised that you had the studio renovated when you aren’t sure if you’re wanting to be in CO full time. I know you said you like shooting in natural light, but your pics do have quite a bit of shadows in them. Have you considered possibly utilizing some lighting equipment? I only say this because the weather changes in FL a lot also, sunny one min and rain the next!

    1. Hi Tierra!! Thank you so much for your comment and questions today! Yes, sometimes I do think about adding lighting, but at this time I still enjoy using natural. Lighting is very expensive and can be tricky if you don’t know how to properly set your lights up. Shooting with lights is an entirely new skill I would need to learn. I am sure someday I will definitely give it a try and probably love it.

Thank you again! Have a wonderful week!

      1. I think with how your business has grown, it would be a great skill! Willingness to expand and try new things is such a key factor in growth! 🙂 You’ve got this!
