April is here, and spring is springing! I spent the past week in New York, which included a very random 80ยฐ day (it was so nice)โฆ followed immediately by a 30ยฐ one. Classic. Needless to say, Iโve officially started craving warm weather. Not the most realistic craving, though โ I came home to temps in the teens and a full day of snow. The forecast is looking up, but itโs still cold here!
All is OK, though. Iโve got a couple quick trips back and forth to New York coming up, and then I think Iโll manage to sneak in a few days in Miami. Honestly, my plans are a little up in the air at the moment. What I do know is that I wonโt be home for the first half of May โ I need to be out of the house while we move back into the studio, and then work finally starts on my house! All very excitingโฆ and very nerve-racking.
I know I promised you all an update post on the studio barn renovations, but Iโm a little behind. The build is almost finished, but furniture wonโt arrive until fall! So while itโs still a ways off from being fully done, itโs really coming along โ and I canโt wait to share more soon.
Thereโs been so much happening behind the scenes! Iโm excited to start rolling out some updates to the website, share a new community-focused project weโve been working on, and reveal a few bigger things weโve had in the works, too. If you follow along on Instagram, youโve probably seen a few sneak peeks already!
Before I get into all of that, I have to tell you about my week in New York! Iโm starting to feel like a bit of a regular. I love that work has me going in and out so often โ I could never live in the city, but I always enjoy my trips!
The highlight of the week was, of course, our event with Benny! First off, huge thanks to Benny for being so generous with his time โ we had the best night. I was a little nervous beforehand, but honestly, I had no reason to be. Benny always makes everything fun!
The night kicked off about an hour before Benny arrived, with book signings and time to meet everyone. As always, you all never let me down โ so kind, so sweet, and truly, meeting you is so special. I love these nights with you. And Williams-Sonoma was packed! This had to be one of our biggest New York events yet. Such a fun, feel-good crowd.
Once Benny arrived, we headed to the test kitchen to make my pizza pretzels recipe from the book. But there was a mix-up with the recipe, and unfortunately, it wasnโt what I had originally planned. I want to sincerely apologize to everyone who attended. I was disappointed too, but thankfully, Benny (and his amazing energy!) totally made up for the lack of cooking.
We had the best time chatting, answering questions, signing even more books, and taking tons of photos. All in all, it really turned into such a wonderful night, and everyone seemed to leave happy โ which means everything to me. I honestly wish we could do it all over again!
The remainder of the trip was busy, busy with back-to-back meetings. It felt very corporate, and I had to put on my โbusinessโ hat, which I didnโt mind. While I love the creative side of this business, Iโm really enjoying leaning more into my business role as well!
I had some yummy dinners, a smell session for the next candle, and even got to see my uncle Al, who was in town for work. Couldnโt have asked for a better trip!
Weโre all home this week, but my parents are heading out for a month+ of travel to escape the Colorado springtime weather. Lots of adventures to come!
How about you all? Are you traveling this month, or staying put? Whatโs something thatโs making you the happiest right now?
I hope youโre all having the best start to April! Spring is finally here, and Iโm so happy about it! Enjoy another fun favorite post โ I have lots to share below.

Love this web site!
I am disappointed at the lack of accountability for your event. If you were planning on making pretzels all along, but didnโt have a few extra herbs that youโve added to your new recipe, then your plan was still to make the pretzels initially. If not, what was the recipe that you were planning on making?
Hey Jennifer! Hope you are having a great week! The recipe I shared in the cookbook is a little more than just pretzels and I was excited to share that with everyone! It didnโt work out, but regardless we had an amazing event and everyone really enjoyed themselves! It was a blast!
Have a wonderful day!
Would you ever consider hosting an event where you cooked a recipe from your book, as opposed to a cheese board? Would love to see you in action & all your tips & tricks! ๐
Hi Morgan,
Totally, if the opportunity presented itself, I would love to do that! Thanks for asking:)
You mentioned youโve been cooking with venison, liver, and even some lamb too. Where can I find these delicious recipes on your site?
Hi Sarah,
I currently do not have any recipes for these on the website:) Have a great week!
It sounds like you had such a fun NYC trip! Curious what recipe you ended up making at your event if it wasnโt your own? Can you explain more?
Thanks for reading Liz!! I ended up making pepperoni pretzels, which is my recipe, just not the original plan:) Have a great week!
I adored the clip you shared of Benny speaking of his love of trying new food when traveling! Heโs so passionate about the subject! NYC has every type of cuisine, yet I noticed you seem to stick to burgers & Italian food. Why is that? Youโre missing out on so much inspiration. I would kill to be in a city with so many options!
Hey Sam!! Yes benny is the best. Such a special friend!
I have tried many restaurants all over the city!! I just donโt share it all! Bond street for sushi is delish! I do need to try a few Indian spots! So much to explore! I do love Italian however!
Have a great week!
I know youโre pivoting to more fashion content, but I follow you for food content. I would love it if you would share more of the food and restaurants youโre enjoying while traveling. Not many people are as fortunate as you to have the opportunity to travel to exciting cities with diverse, high quality culinary scenes.
Sheโs not โfortunateโ. Sheโs self made and she can share what she likes, I love seeing the outfits.
Your blog is a breath of fresh air in the often mundane world of online content. Your unique perspective and engaging writing style never fail to leave a lasting impression. Thank you for sharing your insights with us.
Thanks so much for your kind message:) Love to hear you always enjoy reading! Have a great week!
Hi Hbh, thank you for all of the links. A trip to Africa sounds exciting! Iโm always so surprised by what you include in these newsletters. Iโve noticed that Tieghan has been modeling her clothing more recently. Curious if you will change the name of half baked harvest to be more about clothes. Maybe fashion school is in her future???
Hey Pat,
Thanks for reading today! Right?! Doesnโt Africa look amazing? I definitely love sharing fashion with you all, but no plans to change the Half Baked Harvest name, just incorporating more content:) Hope you had a great Sunday! xx
Hi Tieghan! Iโm so excited for you to share about the renovations. Itโs been years of reno teasing, so this will be a long time coming! I hope your new space is very bright to help with the photography. I sometimes find it hard to see what youโre doing in your videos and photos. All my best to you.
Psโ I know you are getting a lot of criticism for the pretzels with pepperoni, but I made them for my son home from college and he didnโt complain! Always trying to learn new healthy recipes. Protein!!
Hi Jenna,
Thanks a lot for reading today and your message! Yes, I canโt wait to share more on the renovations:) So glad your son enjoyed the pretzels, thanks for giving them a try! Have the best week!
Great content- really enjoyed todayโs newsletter! Tieghan, I love your jeans in the New York photos- do you have a link or can you share the brand?
Thanks so much for reading today, Laura!! Yes, of course, here is the link:

Another enjoyable Sunday newsletterโฆ.loved it. Thank you. Have a great week. Your food photos are fantastic. All the best to you, Tieghan!
Thanks so much for your kind message, Ellen! Love to hear you enjoyed the post and photos:) Have a great week ahead! xx
Why donโt you identify all of your (mostly New York) restaurant choices instead of merely photos? You would think as a food blogger you would tell us what dishes we are looking at? And not just say, โEverything was yummyโ.
Hi Lee,
Thanks for your question. It just depends on the post, a lot of times I do label the food, other times I donโt:) Today, I linked all of the restaurants for you. I also like to share a lot over on IG. Have a great week!
I paid for a VIP ticket and was really disappointed there was no cooking at the event. I am vegetarian and couldnโt eat the pizza pretzels. Seems unfair to blame others that the food plans didnโt work out. I hope your team learns from this.
Hey Hayley! Iโm so sorry you were disappointed and apologize the recipe didnโt go like I had planned, mistakes do happen! I would love to send you signed copies of the cookbooks! Can you share your address via email? Again Iโm so sorry this wasnโt what you hoped!
Anything by Santa Maria Novella is a 10/10! ๐๐
Hi Nancy,
Thanks for reading today! Yes, totally agree with you:) Hope you are having a nice Sunday! xx
