Nine Favorite Things:
Kicking this off with something random. I just canโt stop using the word โdivineโ in the context of yummy food. I must have heard someone say โdivineโ. Something about this word has just stuck with me! I talk about delicious food a lot, so I do try to switch up my words. But if you think about it, there arenโt a lot of words to describe delicious food. Divine is my newest addition!
Do you think it fits? I kind of love it. But in a week, I may hate it. I change my mind A LOT. And yes, Iโm aware I spelled it wrong on Fridayโs post (fixed!). My dad and I are quite challenged in the spelling and pronunciation departments!
Moving on, I hope youโve all had a wonderful week since we last caught up! Nothing too exciting to share. I spent my week cooking, photographing, and filming, had many meetings mixed in, and shivered my way through the week. Weโve had some cold end-of-winter weather, and itโs currently dumping snow! Spring has not yet sprung here!
But itโs ok! Weโve all got stuff weโre getting excited about. My mom has been planning lots of spring travel. Theyโll be heading to the tropics to visit my grandpa when I head to LA. I hope to meet up with them mid-trip, maybe just before Easter! Very much looking forward to some tropical weather. I got a taste of warmth a few weeks ago in Miami. Ever since, Iโve been dreaming of more time in Florida. It will be great to spend a little time with my family too. Mom, Dad, Asher, Oslo, and you know Creighton will be joining too!
I head to New York on Thursday. Then, after a week back in the kitchen, Iโll be off to LA for a design meeting with the Amber Interiors team. The studio barn should be finished in May, so exciting!
And you all, itโs been so fun to see everyoneโs excitement over our upcoming event with my good friend Benny! I know many of you are bummed because youโre not in New York! I wish there were a way to see more of you. But Bennyโs a very busy guy, and luckily, the timing just worked out weโd both be in New York, so weโre finally making this happen! Maybe more to come, but as of right now, this is the last in-person event for a while. Iโm just so excited for it!
Weโll be hosting a few great giveaways at the event! I think weโll do one on Instagram as well and, of course, one for ourย email subscribers too!
Sharing more of the details below for anyone who missed last weekโs post.
How about you all? Are you traveling this month? Staying put? Whatโs something thatโs making you happy right now?
I hope you all are having the best start to spring! Enjoy another fun favorite post, I have lots to share below!
orderedโฆtheseย Lovely Pattern Journals that come in a set of 3. I get them on Anthro and they switch up the designs seasonally, I think theyโre so cute, and they work perfectly as my recipe notebooks. I usualy get through all three over the course of a few months, but I love them! Also, picked up these cute matchsticks for spring to light my candles. Iโm such a sucker for good packaging.
reminds me ofโฆ my Nonnie! The funny thing about Nonnie was that she randomly collected frogs. Not real frogs, of course, but figurines. She would have them outside her house as a part of the landscape. They were also subtly popping up around the house within her decor. And she used to love to gift a frog stuffed animal!ย Theseย gold-tone, pearl, and enamel earrings and this gold-tone, enamel, and crystal brooch remind me of her so much. She would LOVE these. Theyโre such a splurge, which makes me laugh, but regardless, sheโd be in love with both pieces.
everything in my cart (low)โฆspring time dresses under $300. If you need a good white dress, try this white mini dress. And hereโs a pretty yellow mini dress too. And how fun is this mini linen dress? All great spring buys!
listened toโฆ the intro to .
shoppingโฆthese coloring egg paper placemats. These are adorable! I would use them for a kids tablescape, but to be honest, I want one of my own!
dreaming of going toโฆ The Rosewood San Miguel de Allende.
lovingโฆLola blankets! I canโt stop talking about these. No other blanket can compare to a Lola blanket. The Lola blankets are seriously THE softest, but yet light and so warm at the same time. Even after a few washes, they donโt loose their plush softness. I donโt know how they do it, but theyโre just the best blankets! I have the original Lola blanket, but Iโm ordering the weighted blanket next.
shoppingโฆthe Act + Acre Showerhead Filter after reading about how hard our unfiltered water is on our hair! Does anyone here filter their shower water?
wantingโฆevery last fresh flower bouquet on the Terrain website. Theseย Tulip Magnolia Branches are possibly my favorite. So pretty!
everything in my cart (beauty)โฆtheย DermInfusions Fill + Repair Eye Cream from Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare.
(reoccurring) emptiesโฆthe Mutha body butter is without a doubt one of my most often emptied products โ love it! The Josie Maran body butter is amazing too. Lastly, I just tried the body butter from Primarily Pure that uses beef tallow in the formula and loved it!
currently lovingโฆthe entire 3 step Dr. Diamondโsย Metacine InstaFacial Collection. This is a pricey product, so Iโll keep you updated on it the longer I use it!

sidenoteโฆthe packaging is so good! The attention to detail!

readingโฆ. This couldnโt be more true. Found this piece interesting, and I can relate.
kitchen findsโฆlove theseย Mattia Hand Painted Bowls.
everything in my cart (high)โฆeveryone talks about these Jenni Kayne sweaters, time to order the Cashmere Fisherman Hoodie.
lovingโฆfor springtime nails, I love Periwinkle Nails. Cute! Also, nine more spring nail trends.

As I continue to grow as a woman, both personally and professionally, I realize that life really does throw you some challenges, good and bad. In the end, I always learn something and hope that the next day, Iโm at least 1% smarter. In reality, occasionally, itโs 1% in the other direction. Regardless, what they say is actually true: with age comes knowledge!
As we (HBH) grow as a website and continue to build the brand, Iโm faced with the fact that things do have to, and should, change. Change is HARD for me. I donโt like it, and I tend to procrastinate any kind of change in all aspects of life.
One of those changes is the content we share. For the last 13+ years, weโve put out at least five brand-new recipes a week, sometimes 6. There are over 4000 recipes on the site. Thatโs a lot of contentโtoo much, as many love to tell me. I will argue that to the graveโnever too much!
But weโve done some research that shows that posting a new recipe every day isnโt the best approach. Itโs too difficult to consume that much content because it doesnโt give followers enough time to see everything. This means itโs time to ease up and also share new contentโmore lifestyle, behind-the-scenes, travel, and more. And while it is exciting, itโs scary.
As some of you took notice, we didnโt share a new recipe on Wednesday. This was a HUGE change for us and something Iโm slowly going to start doing more of. For now, maybe once or twice a month, weโll share just four new recipes in a week. I know to many of you, this is no big deal, but itโs a big change for me.
There are just A LOT of recipes at this point, and I think our time would be better spent going through the site, organizing recipes, and tidying things up a bit!
I know itโs not a huge change, but even little, itty-bitty changes freak me out. Itโs a work in progress!

Hey There:
Change is hard, I know. My husband and I are small business owners of a winery and tasting room in Ventura, CA. We like to call it โthe pivotโ as growing and learning and adapting seems like something we always do. it is frightening- there is no manual.
Becasue I seem to always be working, one of my few pleasures is reading your blog. It is my Sunday morning- stop the world, indulgence.
So, after reading your story today, about change, I was compelled to just tell you-
I follow you becasue I can somehow relate to your โfamily businessโ; because you feel like a good person to me; I love your creativity- in all things; your excitement for your projects is contagious, and much more.
So, change, add, delete, move foreward as you see fit and donโt let it- or anyone put you in a corner.
Hi Holly,
Thank you so much for reading today. I appreciate you sharing your words of inspiration:) I am sure you and your husband know all too well about change as small business owners. I love to hear you enjoy reading the blog each Sunday. Thanks for being here! Have a great week! xx
Okay the opening photo! Gorgeous
Iโm in the middle of reading my first emily Henry book, so good to know I have another of hers to look forward to!
Out of all the recipes you shared, Iโm most excited to try the Italian Salad Samdwhidh! Would love to one day hear your process of recipe developing! Fascinated!
Cheering you on as you navigate some changes (not an easy thing to do!) weโve loved what youโve done this far, and Iโm confident weโll continue to love it!
Hey Kelcy,
Happy Sunday and thanks for reading! Hope you are enjoying the book you are reading:) Let me know if you give the sandwich a try, itโs a good one! Have a great day! xx
Hi Teighan! Have been following you forever!! What instagram filter do you use for your stories (e.g. when youโre filming your into to a recipe)? I never see a tag when you post and I cant find a filter that looks the same as the one you use. Thank you and have a great week <3
Thanks so much, Lindsey!! I donโt use any filters on my food on IG when sharing:) Please let me know if you have any other questions! xx
Hope you have great fun at your event with Benny! Sounds like a fun time. Xx
Thanks so much, Kelly-Jane!! Should be fun:) xxT
Hey Teghan! I know youโre on the go all the time & not on your phone much, so I was just curious how you compile this list every week? ๐
Hi Samantha,
I do the bulk of my work on my computer:) Please let me know if you have any other questions! xx
Sorry, I meant that since you donโt scroll, how do you find all these links, ideas, etc? Curious how your mind works! ๐
I search on the internet:) When I say scroll, I am referring to scrolling mindlessly on IG and Tik Tok.
Hi,
I really think it is a good idea to post 3 or 4 recipes in a week, so you will have more time to share other interesting things.
Some food bloggers post once a week and it is great to wait for a new recipe every week.
Donโt worry, it will work well.
Greeting from Bolivia
Best wishes for you
Hi Andrea,
Thanks for your kind message and encouragement:) I hope you are having a great week so far! xxT
Hey Tieghan! I appreciate you sharing about your resistance to change. Iโm right there with you and understand completely. With that, I am also understanding of the reasoning behind this change, and I support it 100%! Love to see you and this brand continue to evolve!
Hey Maura,
Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts on change:) Glad I am not the only one who feels this way, I appreciate your support! Have a wonderful week ahead! xxT
Happy spring! Youโve had a busy month, thatโs a lot of podcasts and articles youโve consumed! What did you think of the Ina Garten one? I know sheโs been an inspiration for you. I think fewer recipes sounds like a great idea, hopefully that frees up more time for you and Asher to explore more hobbies and maybe you can take a trip to the tropics!
Maybe with some of the changes you could include a section for budget links on your newsletter (maybe $25 or less?) Iโd love to try some of your skincare recs but itโs as much as a mortgage payment haha
Hi Connie,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment today! I would love to actually take the time to read Inaโs book, I bet itโs great and who doesnโt love Ina?! I appreciate your feedback regarding the content and reducing recipes:) Yes, I can certainly try to add in some more budget friendly items as well. Have a wonderful week! xT
