Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com

Nine Favorite Things. Hello! Happy March, everyone! I know it’s not quite spring, but we’re less than three weeks away. I’m excited for the longer days and all of the springtime blooms!

I’m back from almost two weeks of travel, and while it’s nice to be home, I loved my travels! I went from Colorado to New York, New York to Toronto, Toronto to Miami, and Miami back to New York. I got home late Wednesday night. It’s chilly here in Colorado. I love being home in Colorado in the fall and throughout the holiday season, but this time of year, from late winter to August, is trickier for me.

The weather is just a bit too harsh for what I want. Plus, my family loves to travel during this time, so I’m often here alone. This year, I’m hoping to do some traveling myself, even if it’s just to New York for meetings. We have a lot of cool things brewing!

And with renovations on the new studio space still wrapping up, this is the perfect time for everyone to travel a little more!

My travels the past two weeks took me from New York to Toronto. My trip to Toronto was very short but sweet! The book signing was so special. I was able to spend more solo time with everyone who came, which was so nice!

The only bummer of the trip was my travel day from Toronto to Miami. I spent most of the day in the Toronto airport with delay after delay. I was supposed to take off at 1 pm but didn’t end up taking off until 11:30 pm with a 2:00 am arrival in Miami. Not my greatest day travel-wise, but it’s behind me now!

Miami was just about perfect. The weather wasn’t quite as hot as I adore, but the warm, moist air on my overly dry skin felt so nice. And, of course, I had a lot of fun at my South Beach Food and Wine session. The next day was our final book signing, which took place in Coral Gables. It was a limited signing and perfect for ending the tour.

My 92-year-old great Aunt Kay came to the Miami signing, and, wow, that woman is a rockstar (pics below!).

From Miami, I had one last stop back to New York, but it was an exciting stop. I was very thrilled to be a guest host on The View and had such a fun time! I was on with Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin, both of whom I LOVED. They were so nice and had the most amazing energy! This might have been one of my favorite on-air segments!

Then, I switched gears and recorded a podcast that should be live in the next week or two. Again, I had a great time, and it was definitely a top podcast! I can’t wait for you all to hear it soon!

All in all, it was a very successful trip! Looking forward to taking off again this week. First to New York (meetings – I’m telling you, we have some fun things coming this year and next!). Then, I’m off to Austin, where I’m speaking at the Create and Cultivate Summit. I can’t wait!

My family has been soaking up the sun in Palm Springs, but they’re back today, and I’m happy about it! I was missing them!

That’s all of my rambles for today. Apologies, it was kind of a lot! Enjoy a springy Favorite’s post, and happy Sunday!

1. Things I’m Loving/Wanting/Excited to Try.

reading…The Prettiest Oscars Red Carpet Looks in History.

wanting…the Electrolux Ultimate700 Complete Home Vacuum. I read reviews that this beats Dyson. Plus, it’s majorly on sale via Amazon, so now’s the time.

everything in my cart (low)…all the Zara spring collection pieces. These could all pass for designer! First, the suede coats. I think this oversized suede trench is my favorite. But this combination suede leather jacket is not to be overlooked. And if you want a suede blazer this one is cute!

This is the perfect basic v-neck sweater. I also love this polo sweater and this super cozy wool top

Their peplum top and satin ballet flats look like they could be from Khaite.

And this leather belt, this leather clutch, and these staple thin heeled black boots are all incredible finds.

The Peoria Faux Suede Blazer and Peoria Faux Suede Mini Skirt set from The Frankie Shop looks to be great quality for the price.

listening to…Donald Miller On  How To Communicate Effectively, Why Brands Fail, & Secrets To Marketing Anything.

  1. Excited for your upcoming trip to Austin! I’ve been there a couple of times and loved the food culture! Bbq, tacos, etc. Can you recommend a few favorite local spots? I know this isn’t your first trip to Austin and you probably have a few recommendations up your sleeve 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Anna!! I honestly haven’t been able to explore Austin all that much, so I don’t have any recommendations for you! Please let me know if you have any suggestions:) xx

  2. Please share more about all that yumminess from Casadonna Miami, I want to eat all the creamy looking things in the first image

  3. HBH, is it possible to update the approval process? I’ve found that my recipe questions don’t get approved, but comments making fun of Tieghan do. Perhaps my last question didn’t go through because I was having a hard time with the website. Please make sure to let the real posts through. All but two of these on the NFT are making fun of Tieghan.

    1. Hi Alison,
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We are now manually approving and responding to each comment before it can be posted to the site. Can you share the specific recipe questions that you have asked that did not get responded to? We would be more than happy to answer them. I personally don’t think any of the comments that are here on this post are making fun of me. But thanks again for your feedback. Have a wonderful week! xx

      1. Hi Tieghan,

The website, particularly the NFT is absolutely looking 100% better since you started pre-approving the comments, and the most obviously offensive questions, luckily, have been eliminated. This makes the site quality SO much better.

However, a lot of the comments are still derisive, it’s just being done in a subtle and “snarky” manner. Asking repeatedly about your “guest host spot” on The View, as well as deliberately and grossly misspelling your name, or going on at length about the hockey romance books are thinly veiled digs. I agree with Alison about this.

It’s great that you have a thick skin about this, though and are willing to post those remarks anyway – it just shows you are not afraid of criticism, and can even be nice to people who are deliberately being…less so. Keep up the great work, you’re a trooper!

        1. Thanks so much for your kind message, Olivia! I appreciate you being here and your feedback! Hope you are off to a great week! xxT

  4. I’ve noticed you film your IG stories a lot in the bathroom at the hotel. Would you ever consider filming other places or taking us more behind the scenes via video? 🙂

    1. Thanks for sharing your feedback, Barbara! I can certainly try to be more conscious of this. Have a wonderful week! xx

  5. Hi Teigan, a few months ago you mentioned you were ordering a waterpik/water flosser. Can you let me know how it’s been working? Has your dentist mentioned anything? Just curious. (This was from the Favorite Things post where you talk about being friends with Blake Lively (sp?) and wore the purple dress). Thank you!

    1. Hey Ben! I ended up not purchasing after a few people messaged me about not liking the product! I’m sorry I wish I could help! Have a great day! xx

  6. Hello Half Baked Harvest, my question is regarding comment/question approval. Does this only happen during business hours? Is there an average turnaround you can share? I am supposed to make a dish for a lunch reception following a funeral this week, but I haven’t seen my question show up/haven’t heard from you. I’m not sure what to do. Everyone has had a hard enough week as it is. I would hate to tell them that I can’t cohost the lunch.

    1. Hi Elizabeth,
Thanks for your question! We try to respond to all comments/questions within a few hours, with the exception of overnight comments and Saturday/Sunday. Regardless, everything is responded to within 24 hours at the very most:) I have looked everywhere for your recipe question but I am not finding it. Please let me know how we can help:) Have a wonderful week!!

  7. Fun post this week. Where did you stay in South Beach? Also, in that one photo of a table with a teapot and popcorn. What is the brand on the teapot, if you know? I love it!
