Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com

Nine Favorite Things. Hello! Happy March, everyone! I know it’s not quite spring, but we’re less than three weeks away. I’m excited for the longer days and all of the springtime blooms!

I’m back from almost two weeks of travel, and while it’s nice to be home, I loved my travels! I went from Colorado to New York, New York to Toronto, Toronto to Miami, and Miami back to New York. I got home late Wednesday night. It’s chilly here in Colorado. I love being home in Colorado in the fall and throughout the holiday season, but this time of year, from late winter to August, is trickier for me.

The weather is just a bit too harsh for what I want. Plus, my family loves to travel during this time, so I’m often here alone. This year, I’m hoping to do some traveling myself, even if it’s just to New York for meetings. We have a lot of cool things brewing!

And with renovations on the new studio space still wrapping up, this is the perfect time for everyone to travel a little more!

My travels the past two weeks took me from New York to Toronto. My trip to Toronto was very short but sweet! The book signing was so special. I was able to spend more solo time with everyone who came, which was so nice!

The only bummer of the trip was my travel day from Toronto to Miami. I spent most of the day in the Toronto airport with delay after delay. I was supposed to take off at 1 pm but didn’t end up taking off until 11:30 pm with a 2:00 am arrival in Miami. Not my greatest day travel-wise, but it’s behind me now!

Miami was just about perfect. The weather wasn’t quite as hot as I adore, but the warm, moist air on my overly dry skin felt so nice. And, of course, I had a lot of fun at my South Beach Food and Wine session. The next day was our final book signing, which took place in Coral Gables. It was a limited signing and perfect for ending the tour.

My 92-year-old great Aunt Kay came to the Miami signing, and, wow, that woman is a rockstar (pics below!).

From Miami, I had one last stop back to New York, but it was an exciting stop. I was very thrilled to be a guest host on The View and had such a fun time! I was on with Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin, both of whom I LOVED. They were so nice and had the most amazing energy! This might have been one of my favorite on-air segments!

Then, I switched gears and recorded a podcast that should be live in the next week or two. Again, I had a great time, and it was definitely a top podcast! I can’t wait for you all to hear it soon!

All in all, it was a very successful trip! Looking forward to taking off again this week. First to New York (meetings – I’m telling you, we have some fun things coming this year and next!). Then, I’m off to Austin, where I’m speaking at the Create and Cultivate Summit. I can’t wait!

My family has been soaking up the sun in Palm Springs, but they’re back today, and I’m happy about it! I was missing them!

That’s all of my rambles for today. Apologies, it was kind of a lot! Enjoy a springy Favorite’s post, and happy Sunday!

1. Things I’m Loving/Wanting/Excited to Try.

reading…The Prettiest Oscars Red Carpet Looks in History.

wanting…the Electrolux Ultimate700 Complete Home Vacuum. I read reviews that this beats Dyson. Plus, it’s majorly on sale via Amazon, so now’s the time.

everything in my cart (low)…all the Zara spring collection pieces. These could all pass for designer! First, the suede coats. I think this oversized suede trench is my favorite. But this combination suede leather jacket is not to be overlooked. And if you want a suede blazer this one is cute!

This is the perfect basic v-neck sweater. I also love this polo sweater and this super cozy wool top

Their peplum top and satin ballet flats look like they could be from Khaite.

And this leather belt, this leather clutch, and these staple thin heeled black boots are all incredible finds.

The Peoria Faux Suede Blazer and Peoria Faux Suede Mini Skirt set from The Frankie Shop looks to be great quality for the price.

listening to…Donald Miller On  How To Communicate Effectively, Why Brands Fail, & Secrets To Marketing Anything.

  1. Hi HBH. Thanks for the link to the hobby article. I didn’t read it, but it reminded me to ask you what hobby Tiguan and Asher decided on. I love sisters so much.

This is my third time trying to comment. I hope it works. The screen always turns white and I have to start over.

    1. Hi Katherine,
Thanks for reading today and your comment! Happy to share the link:) We haven’t quite decided yet, we have both been traveling but will hopefully pick something soon! Keep you posted:) Have a wonderful week! xxT

  2. Tieghan my Sunday morning routine is get that first mug of coffee and then dive into your Nine Favorite Things…I am an “old” fan (old in both ways🤣)and have enjoyed watching you mature and grow into the lovely lady you are today…you have achieved so much! I know your oarents are bursting with pride…you go girl❤️
I have all 3 of your cookbooks and am NEVER disappointed with your yummy creations!
Keep up the good work! Many blessings to you!
    Sincerely,
    Diane

    1. Hey Diane,
Thank you so much for your kind message and reading each week:) I really appreciate you being here for so long! Thanks for making so many recipes and your support with the cookbooks! Have a wonderful week! xT

  3. Hello, I’m a relatively new follower. I learned about your account from my daughter. We haven’t cooked together yet, but I know she’s tried a recipe of yours before. My daughter works in advertising, so I always pay attention when I see ads and whatnot. Definitely a lot of ads on this site, but they make me think of my daughter, so I don’t get too bothered when they cover the screen. My question is: can you explain how the links work? Is this how you get paid? I am just curious because I know my daughter handles things like this. Are the links to things like the romance novels ads that you get compensation for?

    1. Hi Jean! We will make a commission off of certain links shared here, yes! But not all the links are commissioned. It just depends! I’d say only 1/4 of the links here are commissioned. The rest are just normal links! Great question! xx

  4. Very thrilling read! You are so adventurous to do all of this on your own. Your family must miss you. Do you have any most favorite travel tips? Also you really know how to take a mirror selfie! What settings do you use on your camera? Mine are always blurry, so dissapoonting.

    1. Thanks so much for taking the time to read today! I think for travel tips I would say to try and relax and go with the flow (which can be hard for me). I don’t use any special settings for mirror selfies, just my iPhone and practice:) Have a wonderful week!!

  5. Wow I didn’t peg you for someone who likes steamy novels haha! I’m surprised it didn’t come up on the dating podcast you did! 😂 Do you have any favorites?

    1. Hey Sara,
I actually haven’t read any of those books, just sharing a fun link that I thought some readers might like! Hope you are having a great Sunday! xx

  6. Congrats on your view appearance! I’m so sad though, I think I turned it off to soon. I saw you promoting your candles and the plastic bags and all that, but missed the part where you guest hosted. Boo! Next time I’ll have to watch the whole entire show I guess.

  7. Happy Sunday to all. Tieghan, I’m so surprised to see you’re into hockey romance novels. I am currently reading “Consider Me.” Which is your favorite so far? Does the rest of your family read them too? Maybe a book club could be the next HBH pivot. Adults only for obvious reasons. Thanks for sharing this part of your life. I know you mentioned you’re in a bit of a dating dry spell, so totally understand being drawn to a spicy read.

    1. Hey Jess!! So cute and fun! Yes, my dad used to play hockey and my brothers, so just fun to read these! Hope you had a great Monday!

  8. Oh, Joe’s stone crabs! How I miss them (that and FL in the winter). Thanks for the beautiful memory.

  9. Steamy Hockey Romances?? Maybe some of your brothers know a few hockey players that might be single!

    1. Lol I don’t think they do, but I thought the link was fun and the books could be a good read! Happy Sunday! xx

    2. Aww bummer, where can we watch when you guest hosted on The View? I saw the 5 mins or so that you talked about the candles, olive oil, etc. but I missed the guest hosting part! 🙁 I am so disappointed? Is there somewhere I can watch the entire segment that you guest hosted? Would love to watch!❤️

  10. Have you ever thought about a second home in NYC? I think you would love it and could travel there more freely! It would be so cool seeing your lifestyle content in the city! Or maybe somewhere in Florida for the summer heat? Could be fun !

    1. Hey Elizabeth,
Thanks for reading today! Yes, I have considered both locations:) It just didn’t fully make sense for me right now and where I am at in life, maybe in the future. I sure enjoy traveling to NYC and Florida when I can! Happy Sunday! xx

  11. That sounds tough to live in a place you don’t like for 8-9 months out of the year! 🙁 have you considered moving to a place that you might enjoy more?

    1. Hi Bethany,
I have:) It really just makes the most sense for me to stay in Colorado right now and travel when I can. Thanks for reading today! Have a great Sunday! xx

  12. Thank you for sharing your NYC restaurant recs! Would also love to know any faves that are a bit less upscale & easier to get reservations at! Any favorite places to get a quick, more chill bite to eat? Or maybe you have some nyc foodie friends you could direct readers to? Love a hot spot but I’m always on the hunt for something a bit more local that I don’t see all over influencer TikTok. Thanks in advance, love the blog!

    1. Hey Gina!! Totally! I need to try more in the city for sure! I’ll make sure to keep my list updated and find some good local spots too. Any suggestions?

Hope you had a great Monday!!

  13. Hi Tieghan! I just wanted to thank you for creating your fun and interesting Nine Favorite Things. It is obvious that you put a lot of thought and consideration into this weekly missive and I look forward to reading it every week. Thanks for sharing for passion for food and life with us!

    1. Hi Ann,
Thank you so much for reading each week and your thoughtful message:) I am so glad you love these posts as much as I do, I love being able to share a variety of content with my readers. Hope you are off to a great Sunday! xx
