Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com

Hey everyone! I hope you all had the nicest week! I am typing away from Toronto this morning. Then I’m hoping to get out this afternoon to head down to Miami! The weather doesn’t look perfect, but I’m looking forward to the warmer temps, as all of my recent travels have been to very chilly locations!

We hosted our first-ever Canadian book signing, and it really was so special! It was a bit smaller than previous signings, so it felt more intimate. It allowed me to spend more time meeting everyone, and it was certainly such a fun night! Our Canadian community is the nicest bunch. It really did feel so special!

Before Toronto, I stopped quickly in New York for a meeting and an event celebrating my friend Antoni’s new National Geographic show, No Taste Like Home with Antoni Porowski. Antoni has been such a good friend over the years. He first helped me host a book signing in New York during our Super Simple book tour. And over the last few years, he’s been so kind to show me around New York. I was so excited to celebrate his new show with him!

It’s a beautiful series that invites viewers to join Antoni as he guides celebrity guests on an individual journey to explore their ancestral gastronomic roots.

From the streets of Italy to the jungles of Borneo, each episode explores the rich heritage tied to beloved family recipes. The series follows actresses and actors such as Awkwafina, Henry Golding, Florence Pugh, Justin Theroux, and more! Above all, it’s fun, heartfelt, and full of the yummiest dishes. You’ll find that a lot is unpacked in this show. It’s unique and very different from other food shows.

Hopefully, my (many times delayed) plane will be heading to Miami soon.

My family, however, is already in Palm Springs for the week! They were meant to be in Calgary, watching my brother Red compete at a World Cup (update: he got 2nd). However, after days of snow, the storms in Colorado caused their flights to be canceled. Only Red (and later Malachi) were able to make it out. Since they would have missed all of the qualifying rounds, everyone else pivoted in the opposite direction and opted for sunshine and dessert over more snow. Sounds like we’re all ready for warmer weather after some bitterly cold winter days.

Has anyone started to plan any fun spring trips? Or are you staying put? I’m happy Easter is in April this year. I’m certainly excited to celebrate. Maybe the family will head to Florida like we used to as kids! Palm Beach is my ultimate favorite spring break destination. Or the Bahamas! So many wonderful memories. Hopefully, a trip to visit my Grandpa in one of those places.

Last but not least, below, I’m sharing some photos of recent travels. And, at last, a small studio update! Yes, it finally feels REAL, and I’m excited to share it with you over the next handful of months.

I think that’s all for today. Enjoy the Favorite’s post and happy Sunday!

What are you looking forward to this spring? It’s almost here!

1. Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.

everything in my cart (low)…some new Zara picks. If you’re looking for a suede coat, try their new 100% suede leather blazer. It’s more expensive for a Zara find but a great price point for a real suede jacket.

I adore this pretty bouclé skort and jacket combo. This is a cozy soft knit sweater for spring (it comes in multiple colors).

Accessory-wise, here’s an incredible suede tote that looks like it would be great for travel!

listening to…Kylie Kelce: Stop Calling Me a WAG. I think Kylie is great, and I’m really enjoying her new podcast, Not Going to Lie with Kylie Kelce.

also listening to…How to Build a Lasting Brand. I’m now thinking I need to talk to a life coach!

dreaming of going…I sent this to my mom: This Saint Lucian Super Villa Is a Treasure Trove of Museum-Worthy Art. How amazing would it be to stay here! It’s called Sugar Beach, and the house looks just big enough for the family (and then some, it’s massive). One can dream!

best-kept secret…Zara home. I swear! I turn to them so often, and their new collection is so great! These ceramic plates are really fun. I’d skip the fish design, but love the plain plate! I think this is the cutest stoneware butter dish, and I would love to style spring flowers in this stoneware pitcher.

Zara Home has the best glassware, loving these glass cups with a raised design.

And I need this brushed blanket to snuggle with at home. How cute and cozy!

having fun with…Pinterest Collages. When I was a kid I spent so much time making fashion collages with magazine cutouts. I LOVE this new feature Pinterest is offering, and I’m excited to continue exploring it! This would be a really cool place to make a mood board or vision board. I could spend hours doing these!

travel…This Tucked-Away Corner of Thailand Is One of Asia’s Most Exciting Wine Countries. So stunning. Maybe someday! My brother Brendan and his wife Lyndsie went to Thailand on their honeymoon. They really enjoyed their time there!

everything in my cart (beauty)…I don’t wear perfume, but I have to say that this Chloé L’Eau de Parfum Intense with Raspberry, Rose & Amber sounds like a really lovely spring/summer scent.

I’ve really been enjoying this body butter from Primarily Pure. It feels so nice and soothing on my overly dry skin. I usually don’t choose scented moisturizers, but the vanilla is beautiful and doesn’t bother my skin.

watching…All the Best Moments From SNL’s 50th Anniversary Special. SNL has delivered some incredible shows. I thought Miley Cyrus was especially amazing: night 1 and night 2

new brand I love…Halfdays. Founded by Olympian Kiley McKinnon and Ariana Ferwerda. This has become one of my favorite outerwear brands. If you have a ski trip coming up, be sure to check their pieces out. This brand is so fun, and it’s fully designed in Colorado too! I’m eyeing this Parka, but I need a new puffer too! I also love their knit beanies.

everything in my cart (high)…I never thought I would say this, but I kind of love this Flatform Sandal from The Row. I swear, my mom used to have a similar pair growing up! And I love the new Marlo Tote Bag also from The Row. What a gorgeous bag.

5. The Studio – a small update.

We finally have progress! I got to see a lot of the structural changes last week. Finally, I was really able to visualize the new space! I can truly say that I’m so excited. I was nervous before because I was having a hard time with decisions, but I can’t wait to share this with you and soon be back working in my space!

We still have a few months of construction left, but it’s coming along! I’m going to share some more details soonish, I think I’ll do a dedicated post.

And when this space is complete, we will start my house!

this is my favorite sneak peek – the soon-to-be new pantry!

I love this paint color for the walls

new outside doors – we’re staining these!

  1. I’m so excited to hear about your studio finally getting its renovation! I can’t wait to see the after pictures, but I love updates on the progress, so keep those coming!
You also stay at the most BEAUTIFUL hotel in NYC- what’s it called?

    1. Hey Maura,
Thanks for reading today! I will definitely be sharing more, I can’t wait for all of the progress to come:) I absolutely love staying at Fouquet’s in New York, it is my favorite! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday! xxT

  2. Is your kitchen studio area being reduced? So you will just have part to cook in going forward? Maybe hold events in the other part? Curious why the renovation? What is the end goal?

    1. Hey Shirley!! No we are not reducing the kitchen. We never finished this space or home space, so the designs and finishing never got completed. I have been always wanting to finish the full design and now we finally get to and with a dream team too! I am so excited! The goal is create an inspiring work space for cooking, photoshoots, and our team. And for my home, to create a cozy home for me!

Let me know any other questions!! Hope you have had a great weekend! And have the most wonderful week!

  3. LOVE the new pantry floor and the doors! It’s going to be gorgeous! I’m so over winter! We’ve had snow again here in the Midwest. But it’s supposed to warm up tomorrow! Spring is right around the corner! Thanks for another great Nine Favorite Things!

    1. Hey Sara,
Thanks a lot for reading today:) I know, I can’t wait to share more progress, I am so excited! Hopefully you can get out to enjoy some of the warm up! Happy Sunday! xT

  4. Hi Tieghan! Thanks for sharing!

I am confused though – you always say that you have a system for packing, so how did you forget Miami? 😂 I’m jealous of the warm temps you’re hopefully enjoying!

I used to drink LMNT, but then it came out that they were dishonest about their ingredients & it hurt my stomach, so I had to switch. Curious your thoughts!

I hope you’re able to spend some time with your family on one of their vacations! Makes me sad that it seems the only travel you do is for work. 🙁 Family is so special!!

    Have a great week!! 🙂

    1. Hey Barbara! I was just a little less prepared for this trip, that is all! Wasn’t thinking about the fact Miami would be WARM (: it ended up being fine since it was only in the 60s and low 70s.

I will update on LMNT! I am not sure I love it, but need to test it more!

Hope you have a wonderful week! Thank you!

  5. Thanks for always being a kind and positive voice on the internet- I always love the food pics and inspiration! I’m excited to hear what you find in your research about the collagen and protein metals as my teenage and young adult kids take these and I worry about supplements (especially with young and growing bodies). Please share the research you find 🙂

    1. Hey Amy,
Thanks for your kind message and taking the time to read today:) Yes, I can definitely share what I find, happy to do so! xxT

  6. Hi Tiegan,
After a long week of travel it’s comforting to come back to reading your Sunday article.
The recipe for Coconut Chicken Curry sounds delicious. Do you have a recipe for Naan? I had an incredible tortilla recently and have decided to try make my own. Naan is not too far off.
Keep up the good work – you’re making the world a better place!

  7. LOVE THE BLUEBERRY DESSERT RECIPES AND DOUBLE STRAWBERRY COOKIES… WILL DEFINITELY BE TRYING THESE..THANKS MUCH

  8. Happy Sunday, Tieghan! Congrats on seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on your studio. Looking forward to following along. I’m so here for all of the pink for spring! Love the strawberry cupcakes and cookies, pink clothing and accessories; I even purchased the limited edition Tecovas boots in Misty Pink for the spring and summer! Have a great week!

    1. Hey Kerita,
Thanks a lot for reading today and your comment:) I can’t wait to share more once things really start coming together. Glad you enjoyed all the pink today, we needed some pop of color! Happy Sunday! xxT

  9. Good morning, loved your latest post AND the paint color of your walls. What is the name/make of it? I too am renovating my house and that color really speaks to me!

    Many thanks,
    Stay warm

  10. Hi Tieghan! Two things: I made Nonnie’s chili out of the newest cookbook- family and friends loved it and couldn’t stop raving about it!😊 The studio space looks amazing! I want a pantry like that! Thanks for all of the great links, too. Take care,

    1. Hey Marybeth,
Thanks so much for reading today:) Love to hear you enjoyed Nonnie’s chili, it’s a good one! Hope you are having a great start to your Sunday! xxT
