And we’re back! The first Favorites post of the new year! I’m excited!

We took last week off for the holiday and are slowly easing back into our regular schedules. I am so happy to be back. I missed sharing with you all! That said, I also enjoyed the break, and I know my mom did too! The time away has given me a little space to hone in on just what I want my year to look like. My focus this year is to finally achieve a few bigger-picture goals and make sure my attention is where it really needs to be. I feel like we’re in such a good place. It’s going to be a GREAT year!

As we glimpse ahead, I’m looking forward to rounding out the book tour this month and next (I’m hoping to share locations and dates soon!). I also hope to travel more this year, spend more time with family, do more candle launches, and so much more!

On the recipe front, I have new soups and chili recipes that I think will be perfect for the playoffs and Super Bowl, plus some fun Valentine’s Day recipes.

I’m not someone who looks at the new year as a time to make resolutions and set a million and one goals. If there’s something I want to do, I’ll do it right then. There’s no need to wait and make it this whole thing come New Year’s, you know? I think there’s so much pressure to become a new person on January 1, and that’s just silly. What’s wrong with who we already are and what we’re already working towards?

I think it’s OK to set small goals and be realistic. You don’t have to make drastic changes. Some years, we might have big things we want to accomplish. Other years, we might be mostly happy with how things are moving along. I say, you do YOU, and don’t feel this pressure to set crazy goals only to break them in February. I have a ton of really great articles (and a few podcasts) I’m linking to today that can help break down manifesting and goal setting and do it all in a way that is sustainable!

And if you’re someone who’s looking to build out a Pinterest-style vision board, definitely order the vision board kit from my friend Camille. I need to order mine for 2025!

Lastly, I shared the 25 most popular recipes of 2024 – as picked by all of you. I also shared my favorite healthier recipes, in preparation for a month of clean January recipes! The list is HUGE, so if you need some inspiration/motivation, that is a good place to start.

To wrap things up, I just want to add that the last 3 weeks have been SO special, from book signings to seeing all the recipes you’ve created and shared with your families over the holidays! It’s so fun to see everyone cooking from their cookbooks and sharing new holiday recipes from the site! I’ve had the best time chatting with you about them on Instagram.

I’d love to hear from all of you about the special things you did over the holiday break. What recipes have you made and loved? Please share!

1. Things i’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.

loving for mom…the Navygrey heirloom cable funnel pullover. I know my mom would love this. Also, this Jenni Kayne cashmere sweater. All I want to wear this season is cashmere.

loving…having my brother home! My younger brother, Red, has been here in Colorado the last week, and it’s been so fun having him around again. Cooking for my brothers, especially Red and Kai who I don’t see as often, brings me so much joy! It’s really why I love cooking.

everything in my cart (low)…tights are literally sold out everywhere, but I’m ordering these Swedish Stockings Svea Sheer Tights as we speak. They have the best reviews.

Of course, Zara’s new releases for 2025 are perfect for winter. Love these suede ankle boots and leather shoulder bag.

There are so many sales right now, too! From J.Crew: these nordic boots have been spotted all over Aspen in the last two weeks. I’d pair the boots with this cozy jacquard-print sherpa half-zip fleece pullover and cashmere beanie.

Nordstrom has the best basics, I’m stocking up on their ribbed long sleeve tee while it’s on sale. They have so many colors.

Lastly, I definitely just added this cabled heather cardigan tht’s on sale at Mango to my shopping cart.

listening to…10 Tools To Make 2025 Your Best Year Yet: Habits & Mindset Shifts Ft. Michael & Lauryn Bosstick – listened twice (and more on this below). Also, How to Manifest Your Best Year in 2025 with Gabby Bernstein.

dreaming of going to…Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan. Wow, talk about magic over the holidays. And one year I want to do the Ritz Paris over the holidays too. Just look at their Christmas tree.

ordering…light dimmers. Honestly, I hate having the lights on. I love low light most, so light dimmers are perfect.

playing…Friend of Mine dinner party card game. 59 cards full of questions that serve as conversation starters. So fun!

wearing…the Skims Soft Lounge Foldover Pants.

brand love…Ducie. Based out of London and they have the BEST coats, especially suede.

everything in my cart (beauty)…it’s a lot of the same for me right now. I’m going through mass amounts of the Mutha body balm, the Tata Harper body balm, and Josie Maran body butter (I love the unscented).

For my face: my skin is crazy dry right now and I’m lathering on the IS Clinical sheald recovery balm and Dieux Instant Angel Lipid-Rich Barrier Repair Cream.

new year, same supplements…I always have Cymbiotika with me. My dailies are: their Magnesium L-Threonate at night. Their Liposomal Vitamin D3 + K2 + CoQ10Liposomal Vitamin B12 + B6, and The Omega in the morning. And my go-to probiotic is Just Thrive Probiotic.

another daily…I don’t ever travel without my dry brush anymore.

watching…Vogue’s Best Celebrity Makeup Moments of 2024.

everything in my cart (high)…winter coats – Canada Goose has some of the best, their hooded quilted shell down jacket looks pretty warm. As does the Mackage Mackage Freya hooded quilted shell down jacket. And for a coat more on the affordable side, I love the Varley hooded quilted shell down jacket.

Something fancy…love, love, love this long luxurious shearling coat.

baking…Chocolate Chunk Greek Yogurt Banana Bread.

shopping…a couple pieces from J.Crew. Need to cozy up in their pullover sweater with scarf and brushed cashmere zip-up sweatshirt.

4. How I’m Creating the Year I Want.

I have a note within my notes app with each month of the year listed.

For the last few weeks and last week especially, I’ve been adding detailed bullet points underneath each month for things I want to see happen/make happen that month. Example for January:

January 2025

– plan the remaining book tour dates

– resume all product conversations

– plan Aspen/Telluride events

– healthy recipes for a refresh

– find a hobby to do with Asher

What’s in my notes is a little more detailed but still nothing fancy. I’m writing everything from travel, recipes I want to share, holidays I want to highlight, content I want to create, press/events I want to make happen/plan, collaborations I want to do – anything I want for that specific month!

Looking at the year month by month is so much less overwhelming for me. And having a running note helps me quickly write something down when I think about it so I don’t forget. It’s basically working backward to create my ideal year! I want to create a Pinterest board for each month now too!

How do you build out your year?

5. Learning A New Hobby.

(photo from our Camille Styles story)

I listened to this podcast by Michael and Lauryn Bosstick, which goes over tools to make the year our best yet. The podcast discusses learning a new hobby each year. It’s something Michael and Lauryn have loved doing together that allows them more time with each other. This got me thinking about how learning a new hobby with Asher could be so fun. It would be a great way to have sister time on our calendars.

I called her the other night to discuss. She said she’s going to try to come up with the hobby this week. I suggested learning pilates or tennis or taking pottery classes! I’m not sure what she’s going to come up with, but I’m excited. I’m hoping this is really fun for us and a good distraction from our usual day-to-day.

Here are some at-home hobbies to look into.

  1. Hobby for you and Asher – beekeeping! Take a class together, find a mentor thru your local beekeeping association, invest in a couple hives, suit up and learn the fascinating science of honey bees. Plus, you can harvest the honey and feature it in your recipes! Then, you both will create a line of kitchen/beauty products: candles, soaps, lotions, lip balms because you are entrepreneurial! (OK – if you do this, I want credit! 🙂

  2. I’m confused? Did you not spend Christmas in Austria with your family? I think that would be so dreamy. And you certainly have the money to take a break from the work grind and just enjoy some of the cash you earn from the 10 bazillion affiliate links you share each week. Also, how is the barn renovation coming along or is that something else that will never happen?

  3. If you want to travel more and spend more time with your family, Austria would have been the perfect opportunity to do both. Why didn’t you go?

  4. An idea for Asher and you- my little sister and I did an oil painting class(really fun) and then after the class we grabbed a coffee/lunch. The class was 6 weeks long so when it ended we have a sister date once a month, we just grab coffee and do pedicures. It has been a great way to spend some girl time together and has been sustainable for us! My sister is around Asher’s age and will leave for college next year in a different state so this time spent with her has been really special because soon I know I won’t be seeing her as much.

    1. Hi Lucy,
I love this idea! Thank you so much for sharing, sounds like you and your sister had a great bonding time. Happy New Year! xx

  5. No Austria photos?!? I’m surprised that today’s blog wasn’t a recap of your amazing trip! I can only imagine that Austria at the holidays is a Christmas dorks dream!

I’d love to see more travel content this year. And maybe stories posted out and about in real time! Bathroom recaps are getting a little stale imo!

    1. Yes, the recipe intros filmed in hotel bathrooms need to stay in 2024! It gives me the ick hearing about food while she stands in a bathroom. Film them somewhere else!

  6. For 2025 I would love some new fresh content from HBH. I am a long time fan have been visiting this blog for years but The NFT is getting super repetitive. It is links to luxe hotels, cashmere, lotions and serums, supplements, Zara, a Bosstick podcast mention.
Would love actually photos and stories of you traveling to these places you mention wanting to visit, reviewing and trying the food at restaurants, going to markets, shopping, cooking with home chefs or locals, going on culinary adventures and getting inspired (not just links to the outfits you wore on a trip). Everything seems very surface level, would love some really genuine content in 2025! Again I am a fan and this is just my opinion but I know creators want to hear from their fans.

    1. Hi Kelly,
Thanks so much for reading today and sharing your feedback, I appreciate all that you had to say and will take this into consideration. Happy New Year! xT

    1. Hey Georgie,
Ten plus years ago when I started it, the Sunday posts started as 9 favorite things, but it has just evolved into so much more of all the things I love sharing with my readers. Thanks so much! xx

  7. Here is a resolution for people posting—“if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all”. If you don’t like the content, then simply remove yourself. You are ruining the vibe for the rest of us. Peace.

  8. Happy New Year! I wanted to send a podcast recommendation your way that also talks about goal setting and manifestation: CAPS LOCK with Sam Feher (she’s an influencer who I LOVE), “How to Make and Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions.” She provides some great tangible steps for how to create your goal and then stick to it. Thanks for your recs!

  9. Happy Sunday, Tieghan, Gerard fam, and HBH team! I’m so glad you are jumping into 2025 with such a positive mindset. I don’t set unrealistic resolutions, either. After years of setting unsustainable goals, I finally realized that less is more for me. I am so curious to hear what your new hobby with Asher will be! I hope you will share that. Have a wonderful week ahead, and I look forward to seeing what you and the HBH team have in store for us in 2025!

    1. Since you have not posted any pictures from Austria, we now know that you did not go and that you spent Christmas alone at home without any family. That is sad.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas you talked a lot about spending Christmas in Austria with your family. You talked about menu items you will be cooking for your family. You called yourself a holiday dork who loves Christmas and being with your family. But in reality you were left home alone, hunkered down in your snowy home.
I started following you around 2014. YoThe divide between the HBH fantasy you project on your account and the actual reality continues to grow bigger every day. You don’t cook all your family’s favourites every night because 50% of the time they are off travelling. You don’t actually cook elaborate holiday meals, entertain, create beautiful tablescapes.

      1. Because your page is so frustrating with all of its ads, part of my comment to you was cut off.

My wish for you in 2025 is to stop pretending, stop with the lies, stop with the promises. Drop your wholesome mountain girl persona, And show us the grown-up Tieghan. Show us what you really want to do with your one big wonderful life that you have to live.

    2. Hi Jen,
Thanks for reading today and always:) Yup, totally agree with you on the resolutions! I know, I will keep you posted, hoping we can find something fun to do! Happy New Year and thanks for being here! xT

  10. You say you want to travel more and spend time with your family, is there a reason you didn’t go with them for the Christmas trip to Austria? You teased this for weeks and then nothing- if you were just tired of traveling and wanted to stay home just say that. Also in your IG stories with Red today you say how much mayo the recipe has. Your recipes are loaded with cheese, butter and dairy and often topped with even more melted butter so why that reaction to mayo? Mayo is just eggs and oil emulsified.

  11. Hi Thieghan, I am confused why you still link any random places where you would like to go or dream of going? You dream of spending Christmas Holiday in the Ritz in Paris…? You did not even join the family for vacation in Austria even though you hyped your family vacation all November long. We know none of it will happen.

  12. Happy New Year to you. The saying “You Do You” is correct for all. I see that there is Eiffel Tower ornaments on the tastefully decorated and sparkling tree in your opening panel. I have one I brought home for my tree too. Always bring home an ornament from each country you visit in your travels, it will bring back pleasant memories.

    1. Hi Jim,
Thanks so much for reading today! Love this idea of bringing home an ornament from each place you visit, that’s perfect! Happy New Year! xT

  13. Tieghan, you say you want to travel but
I’m confused – you clearly didn’t even go to Austria like you said you would. So is it just traveling to New York? You never travel with your family. Also, why Telluride and Aspen now? Why haven’t you done that before?

  14. So confused. Didn’t you say you weee going to Austria or something? Also we don’t need more links if the same garbage sweaters and face care thanks.
