And weโre back! The first Favorites post of the new year! Iโm excited!
We took last week off for the holiday and are slowly easing back into our regular schedules. I am so happy to be back. I missed sharing with you all! That said, I also enjoyed the break, and I know my mom did too! The time away has given me a little space to hone in on just what I want my year to look like. My focus this year is to finally achieve a few bigger-picture goals and make sure my attention is where it really needs to be. I feel like weโre in such a good place. Itโs going to be a GREAT year!
As we glimpse ahead, Iโm looking forward to rounding out the book tour this month and next (Iโm hoping to share locations and dates soon!). I also hope to travel more this year, spend more time with family, do more candle launches, and so much more!
On the recipe front, I have new soups and chili recipes that I think will be perfect for the playoffs and Super Bowl, plus some fun Valentineโs Day recipes.
Iโm not someone who looks at the new year as a time to make resolutions and set a million and one goals. If thereโs something I want to do, Iโll do it right then. Thereโs no need to wait and make it this whole thing come New Yearโs, you know? I think thereโs so much pressure to become a new person on January 1, and thatโs just silly. Whatโs wrong with who we already are and what weโre already working towards?
I think itโs OK to set small goals and be realistic. You donโt have to make drastic changes. Some years, we might have big things we want to accomplish. Other years, we might be mostly happy with how things are moving along. I say, you do YOU, and donโt feel this pressure to set crazy goals only to break them in February. I have a ton of really great articles (and a few podcasts) Iโm linking to today that can help break down manifesting and goal setting and do it all in a way that is sustainable!
And if youโre someone whoโs looking to build out a Pinterest-style vision board, definitely order the vision board kit from my friend Camille. I need to order mine for 2025!
Lastly, I shared the 25 most popular recipes of 2024ย โ as picked by all of you. I also shared my favorite healthier recipes, in preparation for a month of clean January recipes! The list is HUGE, so if you need some inspiration/motivation, that is a good place to start.
To wrap things up, I just want to add that the last 3 weeks have been SO special, from book signings to seeing all the recipes youโve created and shared with your families over the holidays! Itโs so fun to see everyone cooking from their cookbooks and sharing new holiday recipes from the site! Iโve had the best time chatting with you about them on Instagram.
Iโd love to hear from all of you about the special things you did over the holiday break. What recipes have you made and loved? Please share!
loving for momโฆthe Navygrey heirloom cable funnel pullover. I know my mom would love this. Also, this Jenni Kayne cashmere sweater. All I want to wear this season is cashmere.
everything in my cart (low)โฆtights are literally sold out everywhere, but Iโm ordering these Swedish Stockings Svea Sheer Tights as we speak. They have the best reviews.
Of course, Zaraโs new releasesย for 2025 are perfect for winter. Love these suede ankle boots and leather shoulder bag.
There are so many sales right now, too! From J.Crew: these nordic boots have been spotted all over Aspen in the last two weeks. Iโd pair the boots with this cozy jacquard-print sherpa half-zip fleece pullover andย cashmere beanie.
Nordstrom has the best basics, Iโm stocking up on their ribbed long sleeve tee while itโs on sale. They have so many colors.
Lastly, I definitely just added this cabled heather cardigan thtโs on sale at Mango to my shopping cart.
listening toโฆ โ listened twice (and more on this below). Also, .
dreaming of going toโฆHotel Principe di Savoia in Milan. Wow, talk about magic over the holidays. And one year I want to do the Ritz Paris over the holidays too. Just look at their Christmas tree.
orderingโฆlight dimmers. Honestly, I hate having the lights on. I love low light most, so light dimmers are perfect.
playingโฆFriend of Mine dinner party card game. 59 cards full of questions that serve as conversation starters. So fun!
wearingโฆthe Skimsย Soft Lounge Foldover Pants.
brand loveโฆDucie. Based out of London and they have the BEST coats, especially suede.
everything in my cart (beauty)โฆitโs a lot of the same for me right now. Iโm going through mass amounts of the Mutha body balm, the Tata Harper body balm, and Josie Maran body butter (I love the unscented).
For my face: my skin is crazy dry right now and Iโm lathering on the IS Clinical sheald recovery balm and Dieux Instant Angel Lipid-Rich Barrier Repair Cream.
new year, same supplementsโฆI always have Cymbiotikaย with me. My dailies are: theirย Magnesium L-Threonateย at night. Theirย Liposomal Vitamin D3 + K2 + CoQ10,ย Liposomal Vitamin B12 + B6, andย The Omega in the morning. And my go-to probiotic is Just Thrive Probiotic.
another dailyโฆI donโt ever travel without my dry brushย anymore.
everything in my cart (high)โฆwinter coats โ Canada Goose has some of the best, their hooded quilted shell down jacket looks pretty warm. As does the Mackage Mackage Freya hooded quilted shell down jacket. And for a coat more on the affordable side, I love the Varley hooded quilted shell down jacket.
Something fancyโฆlove, love, love this long luxurious shearling coat.
bakingโฆChocolate Chunk Greek Yogurt Banana Bread.
shoppingโฆa couple pieces from J.Crew. Need to cozy up in their pullover sweater with scarf andย brushed cashmere zip-up sweatshirt.

My personal favorite:

Ok, last one:

I have a note within my notes app with each month of the year listed.
For the last few weeks and last week especially, Iโve been adding detailed bullet points underneath each month for things I want to see happen/make happen that month. Example for January:
January 2025
โ plan the remaining book tour dates
โ resume all product conversations
โ plan Aspen/Telluride events
โ healthy recipes for a refresh
โ find a hobby to do with Asher
Whatโs in my notes is a little more detailed but still nothing fancy. Iโm writing everything from travel, recipes I want to share, holidays I want to highlight, content I want to create, press/events I want to make happen/plan, collaborations I want to do โ anything I want for that specific month!
Looking at the year month by month is so much less overwhelming for me. And having a running note helps me quickly write something down when I think about it so I donโt forget. Itโs basically working backward to create my ideal year! I want to create a Pinterest board for each month now too!
How do you build out your year?

(photo from our Camille Styles story)
I listened to this podcast by Michael and Lauryn Bosstick, which goes over tools to make the year our best yet. The podcast discusses learning a new hobby each year. Itโs something Michael and Lauryn have loved doing together that allows them more time with each other. This got me thinking about how learning a new hobby with Asher could be so fun. It would be a great way to have sister time on our calendars.
I called her the other night to discuss. She said sheโs going to try to come up with the hobby this week. I suggested learning pilates or tennis or taking pottery classes! Iโm not sure what sheโs going to come up with, but Iโm excited. Iโm hoping this is really fun for us and a good distraction from our usual day-to-day.
Here are someย at-home hobbies toย look into.

I want to winter vacation here

I want this to be my bathroom

my parentโs 40th anniversary was yesterday! Crazy Townย

something I want to do more of in 2025
Speaking engagements.
What do you want to do more or less of this year?

Of course this god forsaken site crashes just before I click submit on my comment/question. Unreal. This brand, this site and Tieghanโs community-facing involvement in it is a disaster. The audacity of her comments to the Q/A. Her behavior and speech with others is offensive. This account is sloppy, careless, and lacks any degree of authenticity. Tieghan needs a mentor, a boss and a significant amount of therapy. There is simply no similarity between the persona and creation story she touts on the daily and the person she actually is or the life she actually leads. It is frustrating to see an acct I used to enjoy implode like this. Every day itโs lies, errors, shadowed pictures you canโt see clearly, bathroom monologues, old holed sweatshirts, bloody fingernails and mountains of links to things Tieghan has never tried and never will.
Itโs obvious whoever run these posts and responds to comments on the blog isnโt the same person who is posting on Instagram. I donโt even think those two (three? four?) people have met or looked at each others work.
I own all of your cookbooks and have followed you for years. My family loves so many of your recipes and I always enjoy your weekly Nine Favorite Things and blog updates-seeing Asher grow up and hearing about your wild and crazy family. I have always had such respect for you and defended you when people were so critical about the tiniest, dumbest things when they should just move on and get a life. I just donโt understand why you would hype up your trip to Austria for a while now and then act like you never said you were going? Honesty is such a refreshing quality in an influencer, and it seems like youโve lost that. Who cares if you changed your mind? Who cares if you were exhausted from your book tour? That happens for a lot of people, and itโs not a big deal. I just donโt understand why you always seem so hurt by the criticism leveled at you but then wonโt be real or honest about something so trivial?
Also, Iโm sorry that you didnโt get to spend the holiday with your family in Austria and I hope you enjoyed your alone time-I know I appreciate having the house to myself and doing exactly what I want. What you want and what you need are important and you donโt have to put on some pretense for others to relate or sympathize with you.
Long time blog reader and IG follower. This morning on IG you had a question about Austria. I have to say that your answer was so strange, acting like your fans are all somehow confused and you not understanding why people thought you were going to Austria. You literally said you were going to Austria with your family for Christmas, this was said in multiple posts, even a few days before Christmas you were responding to comments on this blog saying you would be sharing your travels to Austria. If you werenโt planning on going why not just say so instead of gaslighting your fans. Unless you are not actually the one responding or writing these blog posts and your team just assumed you would be going. It is all really strange.
โYes, I will be going to Europe for Christmas, I canโt wait!โ
โdreaming of going toโฆ Austria for Christmas- and weโre going! In fact, the whole family is going. My mom rented a spot at a resort outside of Innsbruck. Christmas is my favorite, and this town looks so cute!โ
โBut with travel to Europe coming up in December, everyone decided it was best to stay put for Thanksgiving. Weโll all be together at Christmas!โ
โI am super excited!! We are going to Austria:) Have a nice week!โ
โThanks so much, Stacy!! We will be leaving soon:) I am super excited, I have heard the Christmas markets are amazing! Canโt wait to share more:)โ
โWe still plan to go to Europe! Have the best Sunday and happy holidays!! XTโ
Dang coming in hot with those receipts. Teighan must have bailed on this trip last minute, one of those comments was from Dec 22nd. I mean unless by โweโ she means everyone but herself.
Undeniable proof. People are not confused, not one misunderstood what you said. You made it very clear you were going to Austria, more than once.
Stop playing the victim, Tieghan. Itโs time to take accountability. Are you going to apologize for lying and gaslighting?
Writing this as a longtime HBH fan, I really mean this as no harm!
Comments about Austria arenโt weird or mean. Your fans were genuinely excited to see some gorgeous Christmas travel! You mentioned the trip several times in NFTs leading up to Christmas. If you were never including yourself in your familyโs trip, why didnโt you just say so? I think weโd all have understood that after a few busy months of travel that youโd prefer to spend the holiday alone!
I think Iโm one of the few fans who doesnโt mind the pivot to lifestyle influencing. But with that being said, lifestyle blogging requires a certain level of authenticity that food blogging doesnโt necessarily need. If you arenโt ready to provide that type of authenticity, maybe itโs time to pause and go back to the drawing board on what youโd like the overall HBH brand to be.
Again, huge fan. Truly wishing you all the best in 2025. Maybe some self reflection as opposed to pointing fingers at your devoted supporters is something to work on this year.
Hopefully, 2025 is the year you embrace caring for your mental health. Podcasts, legs up, cashmere, and useless overpriced creams wonโt help you. A mental health care professional can help you. You donโt have to suffer. You deserve peace and happiness.
This is an interesting take to include in your AMA on IG that you donโt know why everyone thought you are going to Austria? Saying maybe I confused you at some point is a bold statement to make. Damn, girl, you did multiple times confirm you are going to Austria. Instead of ignoring this question for such a long time, you could just address that you didnโt go. I think you should use your notepad to have a better track of what stories you tell to your followers.
Hi Tieghan,
I saw that you want to do a new hobby with Asher. My new hobby lately is crocheting. There are kits that include everything needed to make the cute animals. They sell them at Joannโs and Amazon. If it is cold and want to stay inside it would be a good craft for you to do.
Hi Rachel,
Thanks so much for reading! That sounds like a fun idea for Asher and I, something neither of us know how to do, so it would be nice to learn together! Thanks for your suggestion! Have a great week:) xx
No mention of Christmas at all? You have built it up for months saying it is your favorite time of the year and now no mention. I hope the Grinch didnโt steal your Christmas. It would have been so special to get a peek at what food your family and you prepared and enjoyed, your tablescape, any festive holiday activities you took part in.
Thatโs because she spent Christmas alone at home while the rest of her family was vacationing in Austria. Donโt let her fool you ๐
Hi Tiegan,
Happy New Year! I was hoping in the near future youโd post about your trip to Austria and any places youโd recommend to stay at or eat at. My husband and I are going there this summer!
Helen, since she didnโt go to Austria, here are my recommendations from my visits.
Salzburg-if you are planning on visiting, the Augustiner is the best biergarten in the city and itโs a lovely time. The Balkan Grill is a great little sausage shop, and Sporer is such a charming stop for a schnapps tasting with giant barrels. If youโre a musical girlie, The Sound of Music tour is so much fun, and Mirabel Gardens are amazing.
Vienna-One of the most beautiful cities Iโve ever visited (along with Prague), go to all the castles. Hofberg, Schonbrunn. Visit a heurige (winery) in the hills. Find an outdoor classical music concert to attend, Vienna is a hub for talent. The Belvedere is an exquisite art museum (Iโd recommend reading/viewing The Lady in Gold before your visit) for all things Klimt and beyond. I really enjoyed the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum (museum of military history). So many amazing cafes, Cafe Central is the most famous. Foods to try include Sachertorte, schnitzel (wienerschnitzel is literally โViennaโ schnitzel), the beer of course, and a doner kebab after a night of drinking (or whenever-doner is so delicious). Kasespaetzle is the German/Austrian version of mac and cheese, and the goulash is not like midwestern goulash, itโs incredible, a wonderful braised meat dish with a lot of flavor. Even the McDonaldโs in Austria has great pastries if you are like me and like to see what crazy things they offer in other countries.
Stigl bier is the most famous and is a solid choice if you donโt know what to order, bier wise. In the summer, radlers are refreshing and light. A marzen is also the most popular and what youโll see the most. I love it.
I hope you have a great time! Austria and their people are wonderful!
Happy New Year Tieghan! For 2025 I hope you keep living your life the way you want to, keep evolving and do so unapologetically! Also, wishing your parents a very happy anniversary, they are the cutest!
Hi Lynn,
Thanks so much for reading and your message:) I appreciate you following along! Happy New Year! xT
Great post, as always.
Happy New Year and Happy Ruby Wedding Anniversary to your Mom and Dad! Xx
Aww, thanks so much, Kelly-Jane:) Thanks for reading and Happy New Year to you! xT
Hi Tieghan, happy new year! Is there any particular reason why youโre ignoring questions about Austria or Christmas in general?
My guess is because she said she was going to Austria for Christmas, appears to not have gone, and instead of just simply letting her followers know her plans changed, plans to ignore it.
I wish you to receive all the joy you bring to this page.
My sons bought my husband and me pickleball paddles for Christmas so I think that might be my new hobby! Maybe for you and Asher too?
Happy New Year ๐
Hey Amy,
Ohhh, I love this idea! I know pickleball has been pretty popular these days. Thanks for sharing your suggestion! Happy New Year! xT
