I usually spend the first half of the week gathering all-new “favorites” to share. Then, I start putting that content into a draft. I work on getting everything into the post before it goes live on Sunday morning at 1 a.m. Mountain time! I love this process. It allows me time to really get everything in!
I’m sitting down to write between cleaning and packing for my next adventure! Tomorrow, I’m heading home—home to Cleveland! This summer, more than ever, I’m really looking forward to the trip back to the Midwest. I’ve really missed Ohio a lot this past spring and summer.
And even though we just had one of the nicest weather weeks of our entire summer here in Colorado, I’m beyond excited for the heat, sunshine, and, more than anything, the warm nights the Midwest has to offer. Plus, my family! I can’t cook much while staying at my grandparent’s home, so this frees up my time, and I get to spend time with my mom, dad, Creighton, Kai, Asher, Oslo, and everyone in town. Really looking forward to it!
So that’s what’s currently happening, but now let me backtrack to this past week and my brother Trevor’s wedding weekend. He and his now-wife Brenna got married at the studio on Saturday. They really lucked out with perfect weather. It was a beautiful day and night. It was a small, simple wedding, which made it feel even more special.
I ended up taking almost no photos and just tried to talk to everyone before the night ended. I did make two cakes: a three-layer chocolate cake with my favorite browned butter vanilla frosting and a classic three-layer chocolate cake. Nothing fancy, but they turned out good, and both got eaten!
The entire wedding weekend really flew by. As usual, there was so much chaos, but it all turned out lovely. It was busy, though!
Things have been slightly overwhelming between the wedding, moving from the studio space to both work and live in my house, and now traveling for another wedding. I’m still trying to get into a workflow at home, so this past week was harder than others. But I’m getting there. And the light in my house is stunning towards the very end of the day, so that’s a big bonus!
Okay, and let’s see. This week is a travel week. I’m in Cleveland through the weekend, then heading into New York for a quick one-night stay before I head home. Then, the following week, I’m in the Hamptons! I am very excited! We have an event with Wölffer Estates that I’m hosting. It should be fun and so pretty! I’ve never been to the Hamptons.
Lastly, the wedding left me with ALL the flowers, and you guys – they really made my week. The florist, Maddie, owner of Lady Sunshine Floral, had the prettiest dahlias in her bouquets. I requested them all after the wedding, and for the following six days, I lived in the happiest dahlia-filled home. It made my entire week! What are you enjoying this summer?
Hope you enjoy another round of Sunday favs! I’m sharing my Amazon Prime Day pick + Nordstrom sale picks too! It’s a big month for summer sales!

loving…head scarves for summer. This printed leopard square scarf is fun, and the horse carriage print silk square scarf from Coach is so classy. Or splurge on a Gucci scarf, they’re so classic. My favorites include the printed silk-twill scarf, silk-satin jacquard scarf, and the floral-print silk-twill scarf in black and white.
wanting…this pretty marble bowl from Anthro. You all, next week, I think I need to do a big Anthro pull for us. They have so many good pieces arriving for fall and sneak peeks for holiday entertaining, too!
everything in my cart (low)…love these Amazon The Drop relaxed pull-on linen shorts. I’ll be wearing these for the remainder of summer. Amazon really does have it all. They would look cute with these wrap sandals from Free People and or these lace-up sandals from J.Crew.
From Zara, this satin midi dress is super cute and would be great for a wedding. I’m also loving their embroidered midi dress, but it’s currently sold out. But this embroidered poplin dress is cute too! And I’m obsessed with this maxi basket bag. Chic.
Lastly, Reformation shorts. I’d get these comfy linen shorts (I’d get the sun-dried tomato or white colors) or this knit short, too (I’d get the custard or poppyseed colors).
listening to…. This was a sweet episode. Love the idea of having more hobbies.
burning…the new Prada Infusion d’Iris Candle. This just launched so you know I’m curious to try it out. I’m going to order and report back! Currently, I’m loving the Boy Smells summer collection, Farm the Candle. Crush, Bramble, and Sweet Pits! I have them all.
dreaming of going to…, another Paris hotel. Is anyone heading to Paris for the Olympics?
loving…these knit pants from Reformation. They’re comfy, cute, and great for hot days when you don’t want to wear anything tight.
shopping…soft coolers. These are all so cute and will make summer picnics, BBQs, and beach days so chic. Plus, they keep all your food and drinks cold! My personal favorite this cute yellow cooler, and then there’s always the classic Yeti cooler.
ordering…this freezer cube set. What a smart way to freeze food. If you’re preparing for a baby or just love making freezer meals, I recommend this cube set!
reading….
everything in my cart (beauty)…I need this Gucci Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer in my life. This Prada Beauty Moisturizing Lip Balm is so good, I’ve been using it daily. And then the Gucci Glossy Nail Polish in Lucy Baby Blue is my next nail color. So cute yet subtle.
I am loving blush sticks. I think a little blush makes such a difference. The Violette FR Violette FR Bisou Blush is a longtime favorite. I want to try out the new Rhode Skin Pocket Blush, and I will always love both the ILIA Multi-Stick Cream Blush + Highlighter + Skin Tint and Westman Atelier Cream Blush Stick.
watching…. Have you watched this? It’s so amazing. I’m a sucker for The Lion King, but add in high fashion – love it.
wanting…jewelry. I found this fun beaded necklace and cute Brinker + Eliza glass half full bracelet (this is so pretty).
everything in my cart (high)…this is the cutest Givenchy mini Antigona bag. It’s perfect for summer and would go well with this summery white skirt from Doen.
visiting…The Hamptons! Reading up on . Have you been? I will be there soon and want to know the best hotel!
shopping…Atrio for unique home decor finds.

I just started reading 9 Favorite Things a few months ago after following you for a while. Do you plan to share some of your favorite food bloggers and their recipes, or just feature your own? I always love hearing about bloggers I’m not familiar with.
I love Cleveland and was just there! I love the Tremont area, do you plan to hit some of those places for dinner or drinks? So many good choices!
It would be fun if you shared the styling process behind your outfits! What made you choose a leather jacket to pair with the dress you wore to the wedding? Such an unexpected choice!
Hey Caitlin,
Thanks for your comment! The temps drop at night in Colorado, so I needed a little something to keep warm and a classic leather jacket is always a good choice, in my opinion:) xx
In the pictures you shared, you were wearing the leather jacket during the day. Everyone else looked dressed for summer.
Wedding weekend sounded sunny and beautiful. Would love to see your outfit! Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing the entire polo bar menu and the foquets hotel lol, but I miss your family content!
The peach in white wine is AMAZING!!!!
Every time I make it people rave about it!!!
Thank you so much, Mel!! Love to hear that you enjoyed the dish:) Have a great week! xT
All of your siblings were in the wedding party. Why weren’t you?
What did you end up planning for your special sister day with Asher? Love reading about all of your travels!
I took the quiz..lol…I’m a Samantha. Have to admit the description was pretty spot on. Every NFT post has great nuggets of inspiration. I’ve been needing some classy looking baskets for organizing and “stashing stuff”. Found a handful of potentials!
Safe travels. I’m heading to northern WI to our family cabins. Its time to jump in the lake.
Hey Tiffany,
Thanks for reading today! Lol glad you took the quiz, Samantha is hilarious! Love to hear that you found some organizational pieces:) Enjoy your trip to WI and the lake! xT
Cleveland! We go back to see friends and family almost yearly. Usually end up at Kamm’s Corners to meet my husbands childhood friends! I think I remember Creighton posting a picture of Kamms Corners previously…Cannot wait to see pictures of the Hamptons. I’ve never been but it sounds lovely. Enjoy your trip!
Hey Ellen,
That is so fun!! Nothing better than Cleveland summers in my opinion:) I will definitely share my Hamptons trip, I’m very excited! Have the best week! xT
In last week’s NFT, I asked if you did any of the cooking or baking. You said you made ONE cake. This week, you say you made two cakes. Why are the answers inconsistent?
Hey Cami,
I did make two cakes: a three-layer chocolate cake with my favorite browned butter vanilla frosting and a classic three-layer chocolate cake. Happy Sunday, have a great week:) xT
Stop, “Cami”. It’s enough. It’s actually too much. Stop.
Agree with Beverly. There are bigger and more concerning gripes in the world. This is a food blog. Please take your hate back underground and leave us alone.
Cami, let the hate go. If you have to vent it, take it to your forum and stay there.
Please stop with this. It’s not worth it.
I love all the photos! It looked like such a beautiful wedding. Can you link to the cake recipes you used? Yum!!
Stop.
Thanks so much, Elizabeth!! I used this cake recipe with the frosting and then for the other cake, I used the same recipe but with this browned butter frosting:

What did you wear to the wedding? I’m so used to all your NYC hotel mirror pics and fashion content, I’ve been patiently awaiting your wedding look all week!
Stop.
Hi Tieghan,
Can’t wait to hear what you think of the Hamptons! It is really like no place else I have been. Glamorous and quaint all at once! I lived on Long Island for several years growing up and when we moved, my parents rented many places there for many summers and owned a co-op for several years. I have only stayed at the 1708 House in Southampton and it is very old school! East Hampton and Montauk are really the spots to be, while the winery you will be at (and there are many tucked away) is in a tiny area. The beaches are beautiful – try to get to one! Looking forward to your write up and all about Cleveland.
Do you even visit the West Side Market there? Many memories of going there with my grandparents! Happy Summer! Thanks for all of the inspo! Love everything you do!
Best, Susan
Hey Susan,
Happy Sunday! I am so excited for the Hamptons, I can’t wait to share once I leave:) Thanks for sharing all about your favorite places there, sounds like awesome memories that you have! I haven’t been to the West Side Market in awhile, but it’s a Cleveland staple for sure! Thanks for reading today! xT
Always enjoy reading every Sunday. Great Fav’s and photos as always. I did the fun SITC quiz and got Charlotte. Character wise, definitely me 🙂
I’m off this week and have planned lots of new HBH recipes to try this coming week.
Enjoy your trips to Cleveland and New York and have a great week 🙂
Hi Teighan!
The cake is gorgeous and sounds delish! Will you share the recipe?
Thanks so much, Ryssa!! I used this cake recipe with the frosting and then for the other cake, I used the same recipe but with this browned butter frosting:
https://fett-weg.today/simple-chocolate-birthday-cake-whipped-chocolate-buttercream-video/%3C/a%3E%3Cbr /> https://fett-weg.today/peach-ricotta-layer-cake/%3C/a%3E%3Cbr /> Please let me know if you have any other questions! xT
Hey Colleen,
Thanks for reading each week:) Fun that you relate to Charlotte! Enjoy your week off, let me know which recipes you end up trying! Have a great Sunday! xT
I grew up on Long Island and love going back! One of my favorite places is the East Hampton Art House B&B. It’s run by two artists and they’ve filled the place with paintings and sculpture. They treat guests like family and are happy to make recommendations and give directions. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. There are snacks on hand 24/7. Bonus: free parking passes to East Hampton Beach and close to everything!
Good luck in your search!
Hey Danielle,
Happy Sunday and thanks for reading! The East Hampton Art House B&B sounds pretty nice and relaxing, thanks so much for sharing:) Hope you have a great week! xT
Thank you so much for sharing pics from the wedding! It looks like a wonderful time. Little Oslo looks adorable just relaxing with his chips and doing his own thing. Adults often forget that little ones need time to decompress, too! I’m excited for your Midwestern getaway, and I hope that pics will follow. We just gathered at my parents’ lake house in Wisconsin with four generations. It was loud, crazy, and chaotic, but so much fun! That Midwestern vibe can’t really be explained, but IYKYK. Have a wonderful week with your family, enjoy Ohio, and maybe share a snap or two in the next NFT. Safe travels!
Hey Jen,
Thanks for reading this morning! Of course, happy to share a couple photos from the wedding! Ohh wow, your Wisconsin trip with family sounds so awesome, what great memories you created! Have a great week and yes, I will be sure to share some photos from Cleveland:) xT
