Nine Favorite Things

Hey all! Happiest Sunday – here are my Nine Favorite Things!

This week was my first full week home after my France trip. And now all I can think about is when can I go back! My time in France was short and sweet. It left me excited to see more of the beautiful country. My goal is to return in September, but this time for Paris Fashion Week. I have zero plans, but I’m putting that out into the universe. I’ve always dreamed of visiting Paris during a fall fashion week! Maybe this will be the year!

On the first day home, I honestly felt like I had been hit by a bus. But after a full day of travel and a lost suitcase situation, maybe that was to be expected. As the week proceeded, I was back to my usual self. My bag, however, took much longer to show its face. I finally got it back five days later. Thankfully, it was lost on the way home and not on the way there, so I am grateful for that!

Aside from taking the week to get back in my grove, we’ve also had so much going on. My brother is getting married here at the studio over the long weekend, so the prep has been slightly overwhelming. We’re spending the weekend preparing not only for the wedding, but also for the studio renovation, which begins the following Monday. Busy but exciting!!

I’ll be taking the quickest trip in and out of New York. Then heading home for wedding time! I’m sure I’ll have some fun stories to share next week!

Other than that, it’s been very stormy here. We’re all just trying to keep a smile on despite the weather, but so far, next week looks amazing. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it stays that way.

I’ve been cooking a lot and working on some projects for the fall. My mom has been working her butt off. Everything from updating the website to working on the renovation project, to ordering flowers for the wedding, to making sure that all the wedding guests have a place to stay and that the rehearsal dinner and welcoming party are set. What is it about moms? They’re the real superwomen!

Ok, onne last thing…I have a very big announcement. Have fun reading below!! My nerves are HIGH at the moment. I feel scared and excited to share this news!

Have a great Sunday and the best Fourth of July! PS. We will not have a post on the 4th. I hope you enjoy the holiday!

1. Things i’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.

loving…the Chanel Fall 2024 Couture Runway Show. So many bows, pretty tweeds, skirts, and suites. I thought the show was so good.

wanting…a giant blowfish pendant. This is so cute and fun for a kid’s room!

everything in my cart (low)…shopping a few Zara dresses! Love this white midi. So casual for a hot summer day, but add heels and it’s great for the night too! Love this sleeveless mini dress too. And lastly, a perfect knit halter midi dress. Obsessed with halter dresses right now.

Also, I’m ordering these flip-flops from the Coach outlet. And they’re on sale right now!

listening to…Removing Labels Around Food and Finding What Works For YOU in Both Wellness and in Life with Danielle DuBoise and Whitney Tingle, Founders of Sakara Life.

dreaming of going to…the Grand Hotel Quisisana in Capri.

ordering…my favorite tea kettle. It’s time I finally get this!

loving…this fun Melissa & Doug Reusable Sticker Pad for gifting to kids! My mom ordered this a while back and she mentioned how much she loves it for Oslo on travel days. It keeps home busy on the plane.

shopping…Tab Vintage. They have the best vintage pieces. Just scroll through the new arrivals for cute summer style inspiration and find some of your favorite pieces!

watching…Alex Cooper Recreates Her Wedding Skin and Makeup Routine for Vogue.

wanting…a few cute looks for the 4th! Loving the idea of a flag sweatshirt. I’d order this one from Denimist or I equally love the Ralph Lauren flag sweatshirt too. Both are great anytime of year! And this swirling skirt from Staud, so cute. Love the red and white stripes.

everything in my cart (beauty)…ordering the new Gucci Flora gorgeous orchid perfume. The scent sounds beautiful for summer, and I adore the campaign with Miley Cyrus.

I’ve always loved the Mutha body butter. It’s one of the best body moisturizers. For summer, I’m obsessed with the brand’s body butter glow. It adds a perfect, subtle bronzed glow.

The Dior Gel Effect nail polish in lemon glow is going to be my next nail color this summer.

wedding travel…Off-Grid Safaris and Island Escapes: 7 It Destinations for Honeymoons. What’s your perfect honeymoon spot? For me, Sicily would be my first choice, then Saint Lucia!

studying…The Fashion-Insider Guide to Paris: Every Spot Worth Knowing. As I mentioned above, I have Paris as a goal for September. Saving this to refer back to!

ordering…the Windmill Fan. It’s so cute and a great option for hot summer days. My parents use a fan every night while sleeping. I need to get them this fan! It has awesome reviews too.

everything in my cart (high)…the entire Celine pilates line. Would I order any of this, really? No, but it’s a very chic pilates set up, thats for sure.

shopping…Amazon Prime Day of course! Here is everything you need to know and some of my selects below too!

loving…the new Kate Spade x Heinz collab! So fun!

4. Something big is coming.

Some of you may have predicted this, some of you have been waiting for this, and some might have no idea, but I am so excited to finally share the best news!

There is a NEW Half Baked Harvest Cookbook coming this fall 2024!

November 19th, 2024 Half Baked Harvest Quick & Cozy out!

Nine Favorite Things

This cookbook has been such a long time coming. We’ve been working on this HBH book for almost three years. It has been a true labor of love. I’ve worked harder on this cookbook than any of my previous books. This guy really does have ME spilled onto every page. I put all my energy into creating the BEST cookbook I could. It was hard, but I’m so happy to FINALLY share it with you all! I feel the most proud, the most excited to share, and the most confident in this book than any other.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve (hopefully) become wiser and more confident with age or if I just really love this book. But this is the only HBH cookbook I’ve felt happy with after finishing it.

Is it my perfect book? No, not even close. But is it still an amazing cookbook that will bring you all so much value? Yes, absolutely!

So, what is this book all about? Well, the title pretty much gives it all away. These are my best quick and cozy recipes. Any long-time readers know that I love cozy. I want a cozy home, cozy clothes, and cozy food – sometimes even in the summer!

I decided to give you what we want and need the most: quick recipes with something special about them that makes each recipe cozy. My favorite kind of recipe! Once inside the cover, you’ll find over 125 recipes. All are complete with photos and stories that really give you a good background and knowledge about each recipe. There are my go-to breakfast recipes, most loved appetizers and drinks, simple yet so delicious salads, soups, appetizers, the simplest desserts (that I know you’ll love), and my family’s favorite cozy meals. Without a doubt, some of my best recipes are printed on these pages.

I can’t believe that the book is already available for pre-order. I wasn’t sure we would ever get to this day. But now that it’s here, everything feels so real and so exciting. We have so much coming, including a full cookbook tour this fall! Locations and dates are soon to come, so be on the lookout. Until then, you can preorder the book here.

Also, here’s something fun for right now: when you pre-order a copy of the book from Barnes & Noble, you’ll be automatically entered to win a KitchenAid Stand Mixer and a signed copy of the book! Go to Barnes and Noble to order and learn more.

And lastly, just thank you all! You guys who read the Favorites post every Sunday like it’s the newspaper, those of you who follow along on social channels, those who come here via email, and those who read and enjoy the recipes each day, just thank you. Thank you for sticking with me all these years and for the never-ending love and support. Your love for HBH and the content I share never goes unnoticed. I really love you guys like family!

Oh my gosh, I hope you just love this cookbook. It’s coming out right before the holiday season—the coziest time of year!

As I mentioned above in the intro, I’m scared but at the same time so excited for you all to see this new book. I worked so hard to finish this project and make it our best book yet. Fingers crossed you’re all as excited as we are to share the news, and soon enjoy book! Wahooo!

Lastly, I’ll be on Amazon Live this Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 12:50 p.m., sharing details on the cookbook, a drink, and my Prime-Day favorites!

  1. I am so excited about your new cookbook. I have all the others, and I cannot wait to get this one. You are an inspiration. Greetings from Japan!

    1. Thank you so much, Emiko!! I hope you love this book just as much as the others:) Have a great weekend! xT

  2. Congratulations on the new Cookbook. Tieghan, are these recipes new, or are they recipes we have been collecting?

    Great post!

    1. Hey Kym,
Thank you so much!! The recipes in the cookbook are all new:) I hope you have a great week! xT

    1. Hi Laurel,
Yes, I would consider a lot of them to be main courses. Please let me know if you have any other questions! xT

  3. Paris fashion week sounds amazing!! How does it usually work with these trips, I’m so curious! Are you waiting on a brand to invite you before committing? Or are you able to just plan a trip to Paris on your own regardless of whether or not you’re invited to shows? Promoting a cookbook in a city with such amazing and refined cuisine would be a blast!

      1. What do you mean by this? I’m genuinely curious about the behind the scenes and Tieghan is so generous with what she shares. I also know travel is a passion of hers and something she wants to do more of, which is why I asked.

Tieghan described her new book as a reflection of her chic cooking style, I figured Paris would be well aligned with that branding. Not everything is an attack!

  4. Great news about the new cookbook! Christmas is coming a little early this year!

Really fun NFT this week, Tieghan! The France trip looks like it was amazing. I’m really looking forward to seeing all that’s coming up next! Hope to see you in the San Francisco bay area on the next book tour.

    1. Hey April,
Thanks for reading today! France was magical, so glad I was able to share it with all of you! Stay tuned for tour locations:) I hope you love the new cookbook as much as me:) xT

  5. I’m so happy about your new book coming out and how it is already soaring up the charts! You absolutely deserve all of the success you have. It truly inspires me that you’ve achieved this level of success through honesty, hard work, and integrity. And being just an all-around kick-ass person. 🤗

    1. Hi Jason,
Thanks a lot for your thoughtful message:) It means so much to me to have so much support! Thanks for being here! xT

  6. So stoked about the new cookbook, I was hoping another one would come soon. Congrats, Tieghan! ❤️

  7. Yaaaaaaasssss! I couldn’t be more excited for the new cookbook, and to soon own all four. I’m so happy and proud of you for all your accomplishments and how long you have devoted yourself to your culinary art and your business. I’ve been a follower since the beginning, and it has been so amazing watching you grow and develop as an entrepreneur, and to try so many of the amazing creations you have come up with over the years. Keep up the fantastic work, and thank you for sharing it with us!

    1. Aww, thank you so so much, Merita! It truly means so much to have your support, I am so glad you enjoy all of the cookbooks! Have the best week and thanks again! xT

  8. Yay! A new cookbook! I have all of your cookbooks and will certainly be buying this new one as well. Thank you for all of the TLC you put into your recipes. Also, I got my husband the Fellow matte black kettle (he’s British) and he adores it. Everything Fellow does is so minimalist and gorgeous. Enjoy!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind message, Kim:) I hope you love this cookbook just as much as the others! Have a great Monday! xT

  9. So grateful for another cookbook! I was really worried that you were stepping away from cooking and only focusing on fashion content. Especially after hearing you mention that cooking was your least favorite past is your job on a few different podcasts lol! What a relief!

    1. Rest assured, Michelle! For the millionth time, that blurb was totally taken out of context, and made into a sound bite, (from a more detailed conversation) for a podcast intro, and the haters (and only the haters) ran with it. Sensible people understood.

While that myth might may be popular tr0ll fodder, it’s extremely old news and not even accurate. Nobody needs to worry – (except her detractors) T. is still going incredibly strong, and will not be deterred.

      1. I personally love to entertain, prepare food, have dinner parties. host people and do love the creative process of cooking. However, sometimes the ACTUAL cooking part can be tedious, messy, and require a lot of clean-up after – but that doesn’t mean that I and many other avid cooks don’t still love the whole art of cooking. I completely understood where she was coming from, (and yeah, it was twisted way out of context by anyone looking for something to gripe about). There’s no doubt T. loves what she does, and I couldn’t agree more with the notion that cooking can be hard work. That said, I would never just stop cooking or creating new dishes to love, and I know Tieghan thankfully won’t either.

    2. Hi Michelle,
Thanks so much for for reading and your kind message! I still love sharing my recipes with you all:) Have a great week! xT

  10. Congratulationssss!!!!! I could not be more excited to get the fourth book!!! I love all your content. Keep it up!!

    1. Hey Maria,
Thanks so much!! I hope you love the new cookbook:) I appreciate all of your support! Happy Monday! xT

  11. Loved your feature in people mag! You mentioned you were from a small town when talking about mispronunciations. I thought you grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland? Or is there a different small town?

Congrats on the book! Would have been amazing to see all that’s gone into the process. Maybe for the next one!

    1. Most people do consider a suburb of of a very small city that only has 360,000 residents to be a small town. Cleveland’s “biggest” suburb is Parma with only 80,000 residents, then the second biggest and third biggest and so on drop sharply in numbers. I think I remember reading that T. is from North Olmsted, which has a population of about 32,000. Definitely not a bustling metropolis. Having grown up in nearby North Ridgeville , which is about the same size, I can absolutely vouch for the small town feel, and the very interesting and unique regional dialect of the region. A little perspective from a local in case your question was genuine and not snark. 😉

      1. You are too nice, Jill. It’s definitely snark. Same transparent as-all-get-out tone. Starts with a fake, superficial compliment, then rounds out with some disingenuous questions that are supposed to “stump” her and challenge her established narrative.

Next thing you know they will be cackling ’round the cauldron, patting themselves on the back for their “subtlety” and how no one gets “the joke”. 🙄

          1. Predictably, another textbook example mysteriously appears above! 🤣 Haha, it’s super transparent. The hater hive is very restless and triggered right now, because this new cookbook is already flying off the shelves preemptively, and T. is showing no signs of slowing down with all the great things she has going on. I’m SO here for it. Pre-ordered mine already, and will pre-order more as gifts for every tr0ll bomb that appears. 🙌🏻

      2. I think she is from Rocky River actually, a bit smaller than Olmsted. I guess that’s a small town? I was born in Cleveland, but mostly lived in a very very small town just south of Elyria. When I was growing up the population was under 1,000 so 20k seems huge to me!

Anyway, I’m just engaging with the locals. Tieghan, your fans are toxic and make me want to vomit.

        1. Nothing triggers a hate tr0ll faster than getting called out for what they are. If you’re so ashamed of yourself, Sarah, change. T.’s fans are fine, but it’s your ilk that are toxic and make everyone else want to puke.

The fact that you are here defending a vile, amoral, vicious mob of harpies who live to do nothing but excoriate this woman due to their own self loathing – yet you have a problem with, and feel compelled to attack and insult her supporters, says a whole lot about you and the bilge filled hole you crawled out from. Maybe you should spare us all the theatrics, slither back down there, and vomit on yourself, as you are what you seem to hate so much.

Regarding the town you claim to be from, vs. where T is actually from, by any stretch of American geography and urban population statistics, those are small towns. She is from a small town. The fact that you have to twist yourself up in knots to argue this just to try to invalidate her lived experience is beyond the pale. The only thing smaller than the town you claim to be from, (BS!) is your feeble mind. Sod off.

          1. I just pre-ordered a couple more of her cookbooks, so the haters are doing SOME good. 🤣 I love how all one needs to do is point out the bad behavior, and they come crawling up out of the woodwork to protest and blame her supporters for their actions.

Flush em’ out and swat em’ hard!

Seriously though – imagine how much less you would have to endure being shredded if you just stayed in your sewer and stopped showing up here. If you don’t like the site – leave. Permanently. The only thing you are succeeding in doing now is boosting her book sales, upping her engagement, and making yourself look bad. The first two are noble, the last one is embarrassing – for you.

          2. It’s an age old story that ends well. When you stand up to bullies and oppressors, they will definitely try to silence you, believing that intimidation and blame shifting will quell resistance. However, having the courage to stand up to wrongdoing inspires others, outnumbering the hate mob. The more they torment and target T., the more solidarity they unwittingly foster among her supporters, as decent people can and will rally against injustice and abuse. Subsequently, their loathsome actions become self-defeating, amplifying the very resistance they try so hard (and ultimately fail) to crush.

        2. Sarah, if you had just left off your last sentence, you could have appeared almost human. But you just couldn’t do that, could you? Like, you could not control yourself, and the hate just had to come out. Sad. Do better. Your gag reflex is probably being triggered by your own reflection.

        3. Sarah, your tr#lling is toxic and makes me want to vomit. There. We’re even. Bye. 😃🤚🏻

          1. I’m surprised that the HBH haters still act shocked and aghast when their awful behavior is pointed out. It’s almost like they don’t get how life works.

        4. Her fans are not toxic. We’re just tired of seeing her mistreated by a sick group of internet bullies who have nothing better to do with their lives than harass a food blogger as if it’s a full time job. That’s what’s vomit worthy.

Come back and “engage” when you grow up, Sarah.

        5. Nope, Sarah. You and your line of thinking are what makes people want to throw up. Nice try though. Even nicer fail. 👎🏻

    2. Hey Amanda,
Thanks so much for reading and your kind message! Yes, I grew up in what felt like a small town to me, outside of Cleveland:) It feels like a little bubble compared to the big cities I visit! Hope you have a great week! xT

  12. I love all of your content!
PLEASE put Cleveland on the book release tour! We would be thrilled to see you here!

    1. Hi Kim,
Thank you so very much!! I will try to make a stop in Cleveland:) Have the best week! xT
