This last week has been such a roller coaster of events. Iโve been cooking nonstop in preparation for upcoming travel this week. I have a 2 to 3 week project staring in April that I couldnโt be more excited about. Iโm sure many of you can guess what may or may not be coming this fall!
My days have been spent cooking, photographing, and filming. Weโve had a lot of weekday calls regarding new collaborations/partnerships that have been cutting into my cooking/photo time. But, of course, itโs always fun trying to brew up new things! New things coming your way soon!
We had a bit of a scare this week with my dad. Long story short, he managed to develop a serious infection in his elbow (likely staph or strep). Not just one, but two doctors at two different hospitals misdiagnosed. The first sent him home with antibiotics, and the other sent him home and told him to do some exercises. When his elbow wasnโt getting better, my brother Red immediately got him in to see a doctor at the Steadman Clinic in Vail. They discovered not only a serious infection but that heโd also torn his tricep. They admitted him, and he had surgery on Monday and again on Wednesday to clean out the infection. He is home now with IV antibiotics and goes back in on Wednesday to repair the tricep.
Let me just say this, having a parent in the hospital is one of the worst feelings. Even though I knew he would be OK, it was so unsettling. This was the first surgery my dad has had, and heโs now about to have his third. I just kept thinking how grateful I was/am that it wasnโt anything worse. I canโt even type the words out, but you know what Iโm thinking. Iโm thankful heโs back up and running. One arm is down for the count, and the other has a pic line. But all things considered, heโs doing really well. I feel to lucky to be able to spend so much time with my dad every single day.
A little reminder to always be thankful for your health and never take it for granted. Itโs easy to overlook and not think about when youโre healthy, but when something happens, youโre quickly reminded.
That was a lot for this week. Outside of home life, itโs currently Fashion Week in Paris. Iโve been reading Vogue nonstop, the fall collections are stunning. They have me excited for September! Iโm feeling more and more of a need to give myself a break from always thinking about creating new recipes. Iโm trying to have a little more balance, and we all know how much I enjoy the fashion and beauty world. Itโs always been such a passion! Sharing some cute pieces below. I hope youโre able to find some new spring looks you enjoy too.
With my dad not being able to help clean the kitchen this week, Iโve been listening to a ton of podcasts while I clean. I learn so much from podcasts. Theyโre such a great way to hear from a variety of people, I really love them. And knowing I get to listen to a podcast while I clean actually makes me look forward to cleaning the kitchen! Iโll share the ones Iโve listened to below!
This week Iโm really looking forward to South By Southwest (SXSW). Canโt wait to speaking on my first panel! Are any of you attending?
Thatโs all of my rambles for today, apologies it was kind of a lot! Enjoy a springy Favoriteโs post, and happy Sunday!

wantingโฆthis prettyย Dragonfly Candle Snuffer, how fancy! I love the act of blowing out my candles, but this is cute!
everything in my cart (low)โฆadding this Free People cable cotton sweater to my Nordstrom cart.
From Zara, this zippered shoulder bag is so cute. Also, the cylinder shoulder bag. Both are so good. And I love this mini skirt + ribbed knit sweater too. Wear with these slingback pumps. Or these kitten heels are super fun too, and I love this color as well.
The Coach Kitten Heel Mule is cute, classic, and honestly a pretty great price for a designer shoe.
J.Crew launched new swim pieces, and this underwire bikini top in dot print is the cutest. And itโs on sale!
listening toโฆ. A really thoughtful episode and attainable approach to healthy eating and nutrition for everyone.
dreaming of going toโฆ. I see this hotel a lot on Instagram. It looks so nice. Iโve officially started dreaming about a tropical trip. Itโs that time of year!
lovingโฆa solid bedtime routine. In all honesty, my bedtime routine is non existent. Some nights I have a good night and get to bed, other nights I am up way too late. I love the idea of creating a routine around bedtime. Ordering cute and cozy Pjโs and new organic sateen sheets or organic linen sheets to kick my butt into gear.
testingโฆaltering my probiotics. I currently take (and love) the Cymbiotika probiotic. But I heard itโs good to rotate brands every few months. The Ritual Gut Health Synbiotic+ is what Iโm ordering next.
everything in my cart (beauty)โฆI restocked my Slip Skinny Scrunchies Set. I love the pastel color wave for spring. Super cute.
Wanting to try the Gucci LโObscur Lengthening Mascara.
Ok, some tools I need to add to my collection, the . I see this everywhere but have yet to get into Gua Sha. I use The Skinny Confidential Pink Balls and feel like thatโs kind of the same thing. The Gua Sha would be great for travel though!ย
Lastly, Iโm thinking about ordering the teeth whitening toothpaste from Boka. Iโm also on the lookout for a good travel toothbrush. Any favorites to suggest?ย
emptiesโฆI use the IS Clinical Genexc serum every morning as my vitamin C. The cleansing polish I use once or twice a week. I love the gentle exfoliation.

shoppingโฆa couple of Sezane basket bags for warm weather travels. How cute is this mini basket bag? And this Raphia bucket bag too. Both would be so cute on a tropical Caribbean trip.

burnt outโฆthe Diptyque Ambre (Amber) Scented Candle. This might be one of my favorite Diptyque scents.
everything in my cart (high)โฆnew Prada handbags. The Large Leather Tote Bag with Buckles has me written all over it. And I know Asher loves the newย Buckle Large Leather Handbag with Belt.
lovingโฆSpllit, the new app for storing, sharing, and reviewing recipes online. McKenzie on our team said she started using this app to keep track of all her recipes. She said sheโs been loving it!
shoppingโฆa couple of home decor finds. Need to order this cozy blanket. These Zara linen pillow covers are really cute. And Iโm into this silver decor trend. This is a cool ceramic vase. Hereโs another silver vase option and a fun sculpture. And in the jewelry department, this is such a pretty jewelry box, a cool ring holder. And for a cool spring cocktail look, try this stainless steel coup glass.

Lately, I have been finding so much inspo through Pinterest. I mainly pin home design, florals, travel, and quotes โ sometimes fashion too. Weโre back to working on the studio and home re-designs, so Iโve been pinning everything from kitchens to bedrooms, to offices, and even outdoor gardens. I wanted to share a few that I really love!

This green and pink marble kitchen is quite literally breathtaking.

This is such a fun walk-in closet, dreaming up my own version!

A peaceful bedroom space. I love the brick walls and big windows.

Iโm SO glad your dad is doing better! This is a reminder that we are our own best advocates: doctors arenโt perfect, but we are thankful for their expertise. I hope your dad mends quickly & well. Take care!
Thank you so much, Molly!! Yes, totally agree with you:) Thanks for reading today and have a great week! xT
Tieghan-Thanks for your Favorite Things every week. I love looking through all the things and getting ideas. Every once in a while I actually see something I need to get. This week I bought the strawberry coffee mugs for easter basket gifts. (for my grown daughters) Also, sending best wishes to your dad for a speedy recovery!!
Have a great week!!
Hi Cindy,
Thanks so much for reading each week! Ahhh how cute are those mugs?! So glad you were able to find something to order for your daughters! Thanks for the well wishes for my dad:) Have a great day! xT
Ahhh Tieghan, I love you but please be cautious with the coolscultpting links. Itโs definitely not a massage!!!
I know youโre a fashion lover, Iโm surprised you havenโt read about Linda Evangelistaโs experience with coolsculptingโฆ
Hi Tieghanโฆit scared me when I read about your dad! Extremely happy he is ok and is on the mend. That tear would be painful (surprised he didnโt feel some pain when that happened) I think there is nothing worse or scary than seeing something happen with our parents. Whenever something ever happened with mine (even me at an older age ) , it would take me right back to being a little girl. We never think, (or at least I didnโt) that anything can ever happen to them. It was strange for me, even when they both passed away, it never occurred to me โeverโ, that they would one day not be here. Thatโs weird , huh? Anyways, thank goodness he finally got the right diagnosis. Heโll be back at it soon. Ignore the idiotic comments. Canโt believe how people can live with themselves after saying such cruel things. Keep us in the loop about dad! Great post!
Hi Colleen,
Thanks so much for reading today and your kind message! I know, I think he was in some pain but just kind of pushing through it. Right?! I totally can understand and relate to feeling that way as well. Sorry to hear about your parentsโ passings, I canโt even imagine. Thanks for your support! Xx
Hugs Tieghan, gosh. Glad to hear that your dad is on the mend though. Even with the curveball that you had last week, this was still a bumper pack Nine Favourites. I love all of the content and some of the interests that you have a passion for (fashion and beauty) I also love, so there is tons of inspiration and interesting links to see and read up on all things new, fresh and on trend.
I started watching Nate & Jeremiahโs Home Improvement this week and I love watching what they create and how the incorporate memories, whilst giving space, light and beauty in the peopleโs homes.
Trying the golden milk, I have made this for the past few nights, itโs a nice and comforting drink to unwind with before bed and hopefully I will feel the benefits from drinking this in time.
I hope that you have a better week. Wishing your dad a speedy recovery.
Hey Colleen,
Thanks so much for thinking about my dad:) I am so glad you enjoyed the content on the post today! Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Nate and Jeremiahโs Home Improvement, sounds like a good watch! So glad you have been enjoying the golden milk! Have a great Wednesday:) xT
Glad to hear your dad is okay. Maybe take it easy on him when you film him for social media, no need to berate him for 5 million people to see.
Heโs a grown man, completely capable of standing up for himself if there were really an issue. Thanks for the PSA though, Susan. ๐
You could have stopped after the first sentence if you didnโt want to sound like a complete minge.
Oh my goodness, very best wishes to Papa Gerard for a great recovery. That must have been so scary for you all. Xx
Aww, thanks so much Kelly-Jane!! Yes, it definitely was scary. Have a great week! xT
Glad your dad is ok. I hope you appreciate all he does for you.
Butโฆ Do you think you need Coolsculpting?
It is grossly irresponsible of you to promote a fat removal procedure. Be more thoughtful with how you use your platform.
Get off your high horse. Youโre completely inappropriate. And presumptive. She posted a link to an article that someone else wrote and said zero about her opinion on it, only stating she has been seeing it everywhere. She certainly did not say she was planning to do it herself. There is information about this procedure all over the web. Justโฆstop. Why donโt you be more thoughtful about making unsolicited demands about what other people should do with their bandwidth. Donโt like it? Donโt read.
Please stop putting words in her mouth then blaming her for your fabrications. She literally shared a link (one of many spanning all sorts of topics) and said โIโve been seeing this all over social.โ No mention of her saying she thinks she needs it. Again, pointless drama from the hate crowd.
Spare us the sanctimonious lecture. Nowhere did she say she thinks she needs it.
She shares links about random topics every week. Sometimes she says โI want to try thisโ or โI want to visit this placeโ, but sheโs definitely did not say that she thinks she needs fat removal. At all. Chill, dude.
Hey Trish! No, I do not think I need Coolsculpting. I shared the article because I think itโs interesting and something a lot of people are currently talking about. Essentially itโs a massage! I love learning about different topics in the wellness world. Hope that makes sense. Xx
Itโs NOT โessentially a massageโ. Theres maybe 2-3 minutes of massage at the end of the treatment. This is like saying Botox is โessentially acupunctureโ.
Cool sculpting is NOT a massage! Please do your research and do not share health info unless you know what you are talking about. You have over 5 million followersโฆbe responsible. Health advice should not come from a home cook.
Where would you have seen people talking about this is you donโt like to scroll on your phone much?
No, that doesnโt make sense. You said itโs something you want to learn more about. Maybe you just did a quick skim of the link you shared and didnโt read the whole article. Coolsculpting is like non-surgical lipo. It is a fat removal procedure, it is not a massage. Itโs a bizarre thing for a food blogger to share.
Very interesting reply. โI think itโs really interesting and something a lot of people are currently talking about.โ Why do you repeatedly say though that you donโt keep up with trends? Thatโs a bit hypocritical, right? ๐
So sorry to hear about your dad โ that must have been terrifying. Best wishes to him for his recovery.
Thanks a lot, Marie! It really was so scary, but truly so grateful that the doctors got to the bottom of this! Happy Monday! xT
