Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post.

Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com

Welcome to March everyone! Itโ€™s officially the month of spring. Even though we have a few more weeks until the official day, Iโ€™m so excited for the longer days ahead. Yes, here in Colorado the snow will not stop for a couple more months, but as soon as I return home from this mini โ€œbook tourโ€ Iโ€™ll be filling the house with flowers, baking up springtime sweets, and prepping for Easter. I am very much ready for a fresh spring start.

Speaking of the book tour, I could not be more excited for this week, Iโ€™m off to LA on Tuesday. I have one more day of cramming to get everything checked off my list! And while itโ€™s taken a lot of work to prepare to be away for over a week (I may or may not be ready to pull my hair out at this point) Iโ€™m really looking forward to sunny LA, then Dallas, San Francisco, and back down to LA to round out the trip. If you didnโ€™t get tickets yet, I believe there are still a few spaces left for Beverly Hills,ย Dallas,ย andย San Francisco. I know there is limited space, so if youโ€™ve been holding outโ€ฆthe time is now!

Aside from the Williams-Sonoma events this week, I have a few other events and some exciting meetings on the calendar. Itโ€™s going to be a busy week, but again, Iโ€™m excited for the change of pace and hopefully warmer temperatures!

In other news, my younger brother Red competed and took third at the Burton U.S Open this past Friday! As always, I am beyond impressed by him. It was so fun to watch!

Coming up this week, weโ€™ll be sharing a new vegetarian Mediterranean inspired recipe to start off the week. Then moving onto an easy homemade bread, a new skillet dinner (thatโ€™s my favorite), the best noodle dish, and a very different kind of Friday recipe (for me anyway). Canโ€™t wait to share!

Lastly, if youโ€™re catching up on blog posts from the week, be sure to sign up for our dailyย newsletters. Theyโ€™ll help you to stay up to date with everything thatโ€™s happening here, as well as fun content youโ€™ll only get via email. And of course, if youโ€™re meal planning today, donโ€™t forget to check out my menu below (itโ€™s #9 on the favoriteโ€™s list).

Hope you enjoy this weekโ€™s Nine Favorite Things and have a wonderful, relaxed Sunday!

1. What I loved in Februaryโ€ฆ

โ€ฆmy $98 wide leg Levis. Could not love these jeans more. Iโ€™m now eyeing them in the black too.

โ€ฆafter losing our milking goats, I was so happy to discover Malk Organic Milks. They have only three ingredients, nuts, water, and pink sea salt.

โ€ฆperfecting my skincare routine with Vintnerโ€™s Daughter Serum, Augustinus Bader The Rich Creamโ€ฆa splurge, but I honestly have seen such a difference in my skin while using this, and Nรฉcessaire body lotion and body scrub. Also, Versed Cleansing Balm to help remove stubborn makeup (I love this very affordable clean beauty brand, their face oil is so nice. And then dry brushing to get rid of all the dead skinโ€ฆwhich I really need to do more often, because when I do it, I see such a difference.

โ€ฆspeaking of Asher, she LOVES this little fox that gets warmed in the microwave and smells like lavender. I find it super, super odd to stick a stuff animal in the microwave, but I guess itโ€™s a thing and I guess she loves it!

โ€ฆwhat I am dying to try โ€“ these clean burning candles from Otherland. Has anyone tried these? Do you have a favorite scent?

โ€ฆwhat I didnโ€™t love โ€“ TikTok, Iโ€™m so confused by it. Anyone else?

2. the most popular recipes of February.

One Skillet Greek Meatballs and Lemon Butter Orzo | halfbakedharvest.com

Most popular: One Skillet Greek Meatballs and Lemon Butter Orzo

I shared this recipe just last Wednesday. Already it has bumped up to the top most popular recipe for the month of February. Never would I have thought this recipe would become so loved, but Iโ€™m so happy it is! It was inspired by my oldest brother, and I have to say, itโ€™s delicious. Hello to Greek seasoned chicken meatballs, cooked together with lemon butter orzo pasta for a complete dinner made in just one skillet. Serve everything over creamy, salty, whipped feta cheese.

Plus all the toppings. Because loaded tacos are just better. If youโ€™ve not made these tacos yet, you must soon. They one-up the average at-home taco. Trust me.

Sheet Pan Korean Chicken Bowl with Sweet Potatoes and Yum Yum Sauce | halfbakedharvest.com #sheetpan #korean

Also have to mention: Sheet Pan Korean Chicken Bowl with Sweet Potatoes and Yum Yum Sauce

SO GOOD. The chicken is tossed in a sweet + spicy Korean style BBQ sauce, roasted until crispy, and caramelized. Thereโ€™s sweet potatoes + rice, all the toppings, and creamy, tangy โ€œyum yumโ€ sauce too. And itโ€™s all made on one sheet panโ€ฆso itโ€™s EASY.

4. favorite questions of the week.

q: Do you ever get a sponsored product that you are just like, โ€œUGH. What do I do with this?โ€?
a: Yes, but if that is that case I will not share it with you guys! I only share the products I personally use and love!

q: Top five basic cooking tips?
a: This is in no particular order of importance. Itโ€™s just off the top of my head!

  1. Always keep your pantry stocked with your most-used items.
  2. Never drain your pasta before reserving some of the water. That water is liquid gold and creates the best pasta sauce.
  3. Donโ€™t serve cold cheese, room temp cheese has the best flavor.
  4. Never overcrowd a pan. Trust me it just doesnโ€™t work.
  5. Use the broiler with cautionโ€ฆ.meaning watch it like a hawk.

q: What are the essential pieces of cookware for a beginner?
a: I truly believe everyone needs a cast-iron skillet. I use my Staub skillet every single day, theyโ€™re enamel coated, so theyโ€™re the easiest to use and clean. I also use plenty of sheet pans, I live for a good sheet pan dinner! And then, a nice big pot for soups and stews.

q: Did you go to college?
a: I graduated early from high school with an associateโ€™s degree. I really hated school, so I took college courses during my last 2 years of high school in order to graduate early + get my associateโ€™s degree. Thatโ€™s as far as I went. I started working on HBH just after my 19th birthday ๐Ÿ™‚ย  ย

6. I almost forgetโ€ฆIโ€™m getting my hair cut.

How could I forget, I am finally getting my hair cut while in LA. Iโ€™m embarrassed to say that it has been well over a year since my last cut. Yes, over a year, and yes, my hair needs some helpโ€ฆ

But the year question isโ€ฆshould I keep it long, or chop it?? Just kidding, I donโ€™t think I could ever chop it. But I will be losing all the dead ends, so itโ€™s probably going to be much shorter. What do you guys think? What kind of cut should I ask for? So curious to hear your thoughts! Let me know!

  1. Do you ever do small group, quick tours of your kitchen? I have a friend who is having a birthday soon and thought what a great gift it would be to meet you, see where you turn out all these fantastic recipes and then I would give her a copy of your cookbook. Sheโ€™s the one that led me to your website so I owe her BIG TIME!
I know itโ€™s unlikely that you do this, so my 2nd question is do you have any book signings in Colorado?

    1. Hi Amy! I am planning to start, but I have not yet. I am really sorry about that! Also, I do not have any book signings as of now in Colorado, but hopefully! xTieghan

  2. Love your snowy Colorado pictures.

Also love that you call your sister your fav sister. I call my daughter my fav too, she always says โ€˜Iโ€™m your only daughter!!โ€™ but she is still my fav! ??

    Happy travels. Xx

  3. KEEP YOUR HAIR LONG. YOU CAN DO MUCH MORE WITH LONG THAN SHORT. WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN WHILE YOU ARE TRAVELING. A BIT UNNERVING TO TRAVEL RIGHT NOW.
Oops! Didnโ€™t mean to use all capital letters. After I noticed I didnโ€™t want to retype it all. HA!!!

  4. Hey Tieghan,
Ah! Iโ€™m so excited for you and your tour! Is anyone going with you? Or are you flying solo? Haha sometimes itโ€™s nice to travel alone but if you get nervous then a travel buddy (re: mom, at least for me?) also helps. Lol I was JUST thinking of how excited I am to decorate and spruce things up for spring! Will you post any spring time things when you get back? I love seeing how your barn transforms with the seasons โ˜บ๏ธ (even though itโ€™s still freezing in CO). Anyways, Iโ€™m looking forward to this weeks posts (especially the Mediterranean and bread recipes!) and hearing how your tour goes!
    Sending positive vibes~

    1. Hi Kristin! Yes I am flying solo haha! But I am totally used to it by now, and honestly it gives me time to get work done at the airport/ on the plane! But yes, I am hoping to get into some Spring recipes soon, but there is snow on the ground still, so it just doesnโ€™t feel right yet haha! I hope you love all of the recipes you try! Thank you Kristin! xTieghan

    1. Hi Colleen! Yes, it works for literally everything! Please let me know if you have any other questions! I am happy to help you out! xTieghan

  5. Have been waiting and hoping you would have a local book signing at Next Page. Should I just go buy the book? Maybe I could meet you on the Rec Trail bridge in Silverthorne for a signing. ๐Ÿ™‚ Safe travels. Wash your hands lots.

    1. Hi Christine! I am sorry, we do not have any plans for a signing in frisco right now. So sorry! Itโ€™s just been very busy!

  6. Another big fan of all you do. Your recipes are always a hit here. Have a great trip, lots of fun and am looking forward to the next Nine favorite things.

  7. I LOVE your 9 Favorite Things post and look forward to it every Sunday!
I think you should cut your hair shoulder or a bit aboveโ€ฆperhaps a cute bob! Guess what, if you donโ€™t like it short it grows back! You have great hair for that style!
Where do you plan to be, or have you been in Colorado for your new cookbook? Enjoy your tour this week!!

    1. That is so great to hear! Thank you so much! I have been working at my studio in Colorado, but am going a few different places in the next few weeks to tour! xTieghan

  8. I can only imagine how much time and work it takes to compile the โ€œNine Favorite Thingsโ€ blog, but itโ€™s my absolute favorite read each week. You are doing such a good job, T. Iโ€™ve been following you before you became โ€œfamous.โ€ Huge fan.

    1. Haha definitely not famous, but thank you! I am so glad you are loving my posts and honestly, makes it so much better when I hear you guys say that! I hope you have a wonderful week, Valerie! xTieghan
