Every good party needs a great cocktail, and this Holiday Pear Sangria is just that. It’s my favorite festive drink to serve up this season. White wine mixed with pear brandy, fresh pears, cranberries, winter citrus, spices, and a splash of ginger beer. It’s sweet, refreshing, so easy to make, and perfect for all holiday parties.

To celebrate the season, I recently traveled to New York City to host a very fun and special holiday event and cookbook signing with Harry & David. I walked everyone through how I create the perfect holiday cheese board, signed books, and chatted the night away. It was so fun to get meet some of you in person, and to hear your stories of how you came to find me and Half Baked Harvest. It was truly such a special night. I’m SO grateful for all of you who continue to read and make HBH recipes in your kitchen.

As mentioned, I teamed up with Harry & David to create a festive holiday cheese board. To go along with it, I created this sweet pear sangria you see here. Both of which were served at the event. This sangria is one of my favorites, it’s great for easy holiday entertaining!

To make this sweet pear sangria, simply mix white wine with a little apple or pear brandy, then add in seasonal fruits like pears, cranberries, and winter citrus. I love topping my sangria off with ginger beer for a nice spicy kick. So delicious and refreshing.

You can make this up to couple of days ahead, perfect for the busy hostess.

My favorite holiday tradition is that every Christmas we put all my family members names into a hat and everyone draws a name and they then have until the next Christmas to think of a homemade gift to make for that person. Everyone keeps Who they got a secret until Christmas Eve everyone gives there gifts. Always cool to see what people think of to give eachother.

  2. My favorite holiday tradition is baking cookies with my mom. We love to keep track of the recipes and count how many cookies we bake each year!

Hi there! Following you both. Favorite tradition?…It’s a close tie…picking out a fresh Christmas tree as a family. Also love how the house smells with the scents of the holidays, so I use the crock pot to make my own potpourri simmering in the kitchen.

Love this! My favorite holiday tradition is Christmas Eve, (which also doubles as my moms birthday!) is always having a family member dress up as santa. They used to ring bells outside the door so we would think his reindeer landed, and then all of us cousins (there’s a lot of us!) would meet him! It was very intimate, and something we still continue to do for our kids and soon to be grand kids!

  5. gathering under my family’s upside-down christmas tree (yes, you read that correctly! suspended from the ceiling) and eating homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast. planning to add this sangria to our family’s traditions as well 🙂

  6. My favorite holiday tradition is listening to Christmas music while drinking hot chocolate and decorating the Christmas tree!

  7. I love going to the tree farm, cutting down a teee and spending all afternoon decorating and drinking hot cider by the fire!

  8. If I’m not at work, I love making Christmas cookies and staying up late on Christmas Eve to wrap gifts after watching the muppets night before Christmas with family.

  9. This looks so delicious! I love fun cocktails for the holidays. My family keeps it classic by serving bloody marys on Christmas morning! It’s one tradition we all look forward to!
