Every good party needs a great cocktail, and this Holiday Pear Sangria is just that. It’s my favorite festive drink to serve up this season. White wine mixed with pear brandy, fresh pears, cranberries, winter citrus, spices, and a splash of ginger beer. It’s sweet, refreshing, so easy to make, and perfect for all holiday parties.

To celebrate the season, I recently traveled to New York City to host a very fun and special holiday event and cookbook signing with Harry & David. I walked everyone through how I create the perfect holiday cheese board, signed books, and chatted the night away. It was so fun to get meet some of you in person, and to hear your stories of how you came to find me and Half Baked Harvest. It was truly such a special night. I’m SO grateful for all of you who continue to read and make HBH recipes in your kitchen.
As mentioned, I teamed up with Harry & David to create a festive holiday cheese board. To go along with it, I created this sweet pear sangria you see here. Both of which were served at the event. This sangria is one of my favorites, it’s great for easy holiday entertaining!

To make this sweet pear sangria, simply mix white wine with a little apple or pear brandy, then add in seasonal fruits like pears, cranberries, and winter citrus. I love topping my sangria off with ginger beer for a nice spicy kick. So delicious and refreshing.
You can make this up to couple of days ahead, perfect for the busy hostess.

Since not all of you could attend the event in NYC I wanted to share some photos. I’d also like to gift one reader a Gift Basket and a 12 Month delivery to the Fruit of the Month Club!

My favorite holiday tradition is the entire family in the kitchen on Christmas Eve. Some people might say it sounds horrible but in my family it’s pure joy of everyone getting together and making a meal for eachother.
My favorite holiday tradition is when my mom showcases all the homemade ornaments she received from her exchange!

My favorite holiday tradition is watching Elf on Christmas eve and baking cookies 🙂
Yum- my parents are coming into town this weekend and I think this might end up being the Sangria of choice.
My favorite holiday tradition is just the time of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve- eating a Scandinavian white fish and potatoes meal, watching a Christmas movie, and heading to 11pm church service to ring in Christmas at midnight by candlelight. On Christmas morning- Christmas music, the parade watching each other open presents, and Christmas breakfast casserole. Then naps, Christmas dinner, and a movie at the theatre. All with the family, of course!
This looks like the best sangria yet! Must try. And, finally pears.
Our favorite tradition is that we have Christmas eve dinner with family and then exchange gifts with everyone in our extended family.
My favorite holiday tradition is making a huge assortment of cookies, arranging them into boxes, and gifting them to the people I love!
I love decorating the tree and cherishing old memories while unpacking the ornaments. I’ve had some of them for 30 years!
Making quiche and coffee cake Christmas morning with my family!
My favorite thing is watching Christmas movies with all of the Christmas tree lights twinkling in the background!
This looks and sounds amazing. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
My favorite holiday tradition is something that my husbands family used to do growing up which is to gift each other a pair of pajamas to wear on Christmas morning. We started doing it when we got married and we plan to continue the tradition when we have kids someday!
My favorite holiday tradition is making my great grandmothers nut bread on Christmas Eve.
My favorite holiday tradition is going to my grandparent’s house and singing Christmas carols around the neighborhood with my cousins. We have a lot of fun and love to see the smiles on people’s faces.
BTW, that cheese board looks delicious. I wish I had time to do all of that. Thanks for the great blog Tieghan, I don’t miss a day of your posts!
